Free agent/Trade TRACKING THREAD (2 Viewers)

Ocho!!! Thank the lawd for this one, b/c the Haynesworth move makes me want to throw up in my mouth. Love me some Chad, though.

It kills me that in the middle of all this action, that NFL Network is playing reruns of Total Access.

In primetime. Really? No wonder you can't find any advertisers for your station.

Anybody want to explain this to me?
He's not very good and wasn't going to get a chance to start anywhere?
Brandon Jackson hasn't committed a penalty in four years, hasn't lost a fumble in four years, allowed just one pressure last year, finished with 1,137 yards from scrimmage last season.Good answer though.

So it would be more accurate to say he's a good complimentary back but not starter material and wasn't going to get a chance to start anywhere

Just cuzwhat happened to your nnamdi to jets in principal, left lots of money on table
Never typed such a thing  lol, nah pulled it off, was not 100% sure of the source....but there are rumors galore as you already know.
incarceratedbob incarcerated bob **BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: NY JETS have come to an agreement in "principle" with Nnamdi Asomugha (He left big money on the table)

Panthers and LB Jon Beason have agreed to terms on a five-year extension, per league source.
La Canfora:5 years, $50m with $25m guaranteed. Believed to be highest ever for an ILB.
No one can say the Panthers aren't trying. Theyve done a very good job so far!
You are right sir!Winners: Panthers are dominating right now, followed by the Patriots.Losers...Lions, at the brink, but failed horribly, plus the Bengals seem to not be doing anything but losing players.

Not that great a source, look at his twitter.

Per Fox Sports, Saints are signing Darren Sproles
2-yr deal too, according to the T-P. surprising signing to me considering payton was talking about how comfortable he was with the saints stable of RBs post-reggie trade. apparently the man can't help himself.

I think TB could be near the losers too. With the young talent they have and the funds I find it odd and a little disappointing that they haven't been more aggressive.

No surprise here... looking to fill the role of creating mismatches that Bush had.
According to some on here, that's false. Bush was a bust and not worth a roster spot. They needed someone to fill that role when Bush left. No better option than Sproles. The guy is fast and runs North/South. Excellent signing my the Saints FO. IMO. He will get the same amount of touches Bush had.

I believe he weighed down the Saints, trying to get him the ball and all.
Not really. In 2007 when Deuce went down Payton gave Bush his chance and it proved he couldnt carry the load. The more it went, the more he was used as a decoy and a safety valve for Brees. I would have liked to see more wheel routes like the 06 NFCCG. Payton used Bush on sweeps and tosses when we had a mediocre Oline. It seemed many times the D was in the backfield as soon as Bush got the handoff. Sproles will fill the role nicely. I am anxious to see Ingram run though.

He's the one that called the Gallery and Rice signings for Seattle before they happened. I read that Adam Schefter has backed him before so apparently he does have friends in high places.

Per Adam Schefter Bucs sign D. Joseph, Trueblood, and Koenen....yea! first free agent signed from another team...a punter! Way to spend $60 million!

Per John McClain, Texans sign safety Danieal Manning, four years, $20 million, $9m guaranteed. He gets $11.5m over the first 2 years.

(edited to fix terms)

Seahawks reach agreement with former Cardinals DT Alan Branch on a two-year, $8 million deal that includes $4 million guaranteed.

Danieal Manning - DB - Texans Texans agreed to terms with SS Danieal Manning on a four-year, $20 million contract with $9 million guaranteed. It's hard not to love both of Houston's secondary upgrades executed today. Manning is fairly old to be finishing up his rookie contract (he turns 29 in August), but he also appears to be just now coming into his own. Manning finished No. 5 overall in Pro Football Focus' 2010 cover safety rankings, and he fills very hard against the run. He'll start at strong safety for the Texans and be a massive upgrade on Bernard Pollard against the pass. Related: BearsSource: John McClain on Twitter Jul 29, 12:48 AM

Michael Koenen's 6yr deal with Tampa agreed to last is one of biggest ever in NFL history for a punter - $19M with $6M guarantee. What the.....are you kidding me, they are spending money like this on a punter with so many other needs? At least the are spending wisely. Because they should be punting often.

La Canfora: Lions sign Browns CB Eric Wright.
And least they did something to help that secondary
i thought the problem with the secondary is how wretched the safeties were. they found two starting CBs around midseason, iirc. the chatter was how they wanted to keep chris houston and pair him with alphonso smith. wright might be starting or simply a nickel. still, until they find legit safeties, that secondary will suffer.

i might be wrong on this deal. i thought the T-P had it as a 2 year deal but i am reading now that it was a 4-yr for $14m. sproles is probably an upgrade over reggie but especially so on ST. sproles also might replace ST standout WR courtney roby.
