Freelance Article Contest... (1 Viewer)

They should just scrap the leagues, take all the prize money, and give it to whoever had the most articles published.

(Cough.)

Man, practically two weeks before the first NFL regular season game. I wonder what the FBG's are thinkin' as a replacement contest for us?
I don't think it's a draft league, I think it still may be a FFTOC-type league. Still would be nice to know.
Ive emailed Clayton, havent gottent a response. Im thinkin it may not happen at this point.
I feel pretty confident they'll do something.
It will probably be a token gesture like two Super Bowl tickets per article
And to think that my favorite teams are the Cowboys and the Dolphins... :hey:

Surely my Bills will win it this year.....

A bunch more freelance artciles up now. Looks like 28 total posted now. Still haven't seen mine. Guess they are saving the best for last!

Seriously, though, mine probably had a lot of formatting since there were a bazzillion tables in it. And I think Clayton made a reference to formatting taking a long time.

When are the selected authors supposed to be informed and how?
The original advert said it will be published here on the 17th...Freelance Writing Opportunity

Our readers are some of the most knowledgeable football guys anywhere. Now's your chance to show the world and have your work published and promoted to a zillion serious Fantasy Owners. We are looking for up to 60 great freelance articles on fantasy football. Specifically, we are looking for articles that have not been published before on other websites. New takes...new ideas...interesting studies, etc.

...

If we select your article to be posted, we will pay $30 and put you in an FFTOC league where you will compete against 11 other writers for $250 cash.

Payment will be $30 for the first article selected from each writer. If multiple articles from a writer are selected, you will be paid $35 for each additional article, but given just 1 entry into a FFTOC league (to compete for $250).
Hi Clayton, David, Joe,As I mentioned "earlier" in this thread - I was fortunate enough to have an article selected to be posted on the site.

In fact, I received 2 emails from Clayton (the first one asking for a mailing address) and the second one - related to a second article, asking for the database of the study (which I sent earlier today).

I'm just wondering if it's mean that my two articles were selected? (if that's not the case, please disregard the rest of the text)... and if so, rather than the 35$ mentioned above (in the original thread) - I would want to know if it's possible to transform this into a Footballguys.com subscription?

Please don't interpret this as bragging - In fact, I know that the knowledge of members and staff here is unsurpassed (far better than mine!) - and I would just want to thank FBG by giving me the opportunity to benefit from all the subscribers materiel in exchange for the published articles...

Just let me know about the feasibility of this or not...

Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the self-promoting bump here... But I saw yesterday night that both my articles have been posted... I would just like feedback on the feasibility to transform the second article cash to a FBG subscription?... (Before others say it - I had PMed Joe / David / Clayton asking about this)Thanks in advance

Sorry guys. Yes, the league will be FFTOC format. Since there is no need for a draft, this is one of the last things I'll organize before the season starts.

We prefer to pay for each article.

If formatting tables is a big issue for Clayton, then my article may not post until December.

Almost 1 week to the first regular season game.

I haven't even started researching for an FFTOC format league.

Hi Clayton... could we, at least, get the general format (roster requirement / scoring / teams eliminated? / playoff weeks?) if we want to look ahead at value plays...Obvisouly, by roster requirement, I mean - 2RBs per week? or Flex spots? (not, how many guys on the bench  )It is going to be the "official FFTOC" format or a derivative of it?

Yep, starting to get antsy, here, wondering if I will have time at the last minute to get a good entry in without any advance idea of the exact format, etc... 7 days to kickoff is not a lot of time, and for those few who might only have time for this sort of thing on certain days of the week, each day passed now is a lost opportunity to participate. I hope we at least have one weekend to do research, etc.

Two more posted! One of them is mine! Sorry for all the tables Clayton! That means (I believe) there are (5) left to be posted.
