Good choice in going to silence in rolling the credits as opposed to most episodes that have some music choice.
That's what I meant...the groom may let it go....I don't think his uncle would. Unless I'm mis-reading that and he snuck away because he was in on it.The guy that went to the little boys room is Rob's great uncle, his uncle is the one that got married. His uncle seemed to have gotten away....he won't let it go.I wonder what becomes of the marriage that just took place? The uncle guy seems like the type of person that will let this go, now that he has a new hot FreyWife.

The Starks are basically the Kennedys of Westeros. If you're a Stark you should change your last name or something. I'd be Arya Thomas running around that ####in place.
You could of had my men and a hottie too if you would have kept your word. The look Frey gave Rob when he presented the good looking daughter..... what was that supposed to mean?

The look on Sam's face was great after that.
Well, yea, outside sure. They do not hear it. Cat knew something was up but seemed to be trying to figure it out until she sees Lord Bolton is in armor. Your host (who everyone knows is less than honorable and pissed at you) plays the song of the enemy and you do not immediately jump to action?I don't know if they hear it outside. Cat definitely knew what was up.Here is my one question.... What in the hell is everyone in the North's camp thinking when they hear "Rains of Castamere". I think I hear that in that setting, I am preparing for a fight. Lady Stark looks lost and Robb keeps jabbing away. Huh?
It's probably better flushed out in the book but the band was bad. They made it a point to describe how bad the music was because as it turns out, most of the musicians were actually bowmen ready to take aim.Well, yea, outside sure. They do not hear it. Sure, but still discernibly "Rains of Castermere", no? Or in the book, is it so butchered as to not be recognizable?Well, yea, outside sure. They do not hear it. All in all...the book readers did an excellent job of not spoiling this.
I get it if you didn't pick up on the song based on the music. It is on quite a bit during the show though - musical cues, Tyrion whistles it, etc.. I thought he was saying that he didn't understand the importance of the song, and that was just explained during the dialogue about the family that tried to overtake the Lannisters.I had no idea what that song meant either.
That was the guy that had Jaime and then let him go. How would he have gotten the Lannisters in on it?Yup, but what I don't get is that the Lanisters clearly had a hand in it by the remarks made when they killed Stark. Why not just have the Lanisters there to really drive the point home? When they started killing everyone they should have had a Lanister come out to seal the deal.So I'm assuming Frey has been plotting this since Robb screwed him....and the entire wedding was the set up....because he knew Robb would come.
I think a little of that....but Cat thinks it's a bit odd that the song is being played at a wedding.Sure, but still discernibly "Rains of Castermere", no? Or in the book, is it so butchered as to not be recognizable?Well, yea, outside sure. They do not hear it. "Look what you missed out on, dumb###" was my interpretation. The look Frey gave Rob when he presented the good looking daughter..... what was that supposed to mean?
Yea, it was discernible. There was no singer but she was thinking the lyrics in her head. Just saying they might not immediately jump to action because A. they were probably trying to shut it out mentally and B. they talk about people singing one song and them playing another and it sonically being a big fluster cluck... but the switch was abrupt and she knew something was up. Everyone else was out of it though.Sure, but still discernibly "Rains of Castermere", no? Or in the book, is it so butchered as to not be recognizable?Well, yea, outside sure. They do not hear it. Yeah kinda like he realized it would take ten books if Robb was alive. Screw it they all die.Well that's one way to shut down a plotline in a hurry.
4. Arya's nymeria was chased off into the woods to a kid being killed. Ghost, summer and shaggy dog are the others. So 3 wolves left?
4: Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon (who set the record for most lines from him in an episode tonight)So 3 wolves left?
Just give it up and enjoy the damn show.Murderers manage not to murder everyone they meet. Doesn't mean they aren't murderers. It was almost like that scene was poking fun at the readers spoiling this thread,"You know all that by looking at marks on paper? You must be some kind of wizard"

Welcome to the showI watched seasons 1-3(up to e8) in the last 3 weeks. Tonights Ep was the first one I've watched "live". Jesus.![]()
Yes, that was the cherry on top. Also think about how much more power Frey gains too - alliance with the Lannisters/Boltons and now he has an 'in' to Riverrun because of the wedding as well.So I'm assuming Frey has been plotting this since Robb screwed him....and the entire wedding was the set up....because he knew Robb would come.
Reading that scene was the biggest "Holy ####" moment I've ever had reading any book
And damn if the show didn't do it absolute justice...from the band playing "The Rains of Castamere" to Catelyn slowly realizing what is about to happen as the doors are closed and she realizes Roose Bolton is wearing Mail
Pretty sure twitter just blew up
I had just picked up my tux for my buddy's wedding and was starving. I stopped into a Chili's to grab a burger and a beer. I was sitting at the bar and reading. As I read the chapter I literally dropped my burger onto my plate and the bartender came over to see if I was OK, because she said I had turned white as a ghost.Reading that scene was the biggest "Holy ####" moment I've ever had reading any book

Plus it was the song for the closing credits of Episode 9 (Blackwater) last season, performed by The National, who do a fantastic job with it IMO:How didn't you guys recognize the song? It's been done several times. It's badass lyrics and melody. The Origin was explained last week and the name of the episode was rains of castamere.

Pretty ho-hum episode if you ask me.
I will say that I have watched my fair share of messed up movies and shows that were hard to watch. Tonight's episode upset me in a way that I have rarely encountered, and I knew what was coming (maybe that tension was part of it). I think it was starting it off by stabbing his pregnant wife that just shook me. Must have taken me about an hour to calm down after watching it.

No doubt. Love the look on his face as he made eye contact with one of the Frey girls during the ceremony. Great character, and hope we get more of him as a result of this.Blackfish takes the timeliest piss break ever.
What about Arnold in Fast Times at Ridgemont High?Blackfish takes the timeliest piss break ever.
