Game of Thrones on HBO: non-book thread (1 Viewer)

So last season we had Tywin go out of his way to embrace his son. He sends him to kings Landing to be the Hand. Many think he was the only reason they held onto the throne and even his Father has to admit that to a certian extent. Now he is trash again? I know they have to go by the books and all of that and it's just setting up what looks like a great storyline down the road, but that seemed a bit off.
The only angle I can see is that Tywin was using Tyrion. He knew Tyrion was desperate for his respect and Tywin was in a tight spot. He had to fight Rob, but also has a wildcard ahole in Kibgs Landing. He knew Tyrion might be one person he could trust to hold loyal to him. Now that Tywin is back in Kings Landing, he is being fed info from Cersei and Joffrey. They hate Tyrion and feed him anti Tyron propaganda. Tywin told him not to bring the whore, he brought her anyway. He didn't really want to give Tyrion a chance and didn't really respect Tyrion. Cersei and Joffrey have confirmed his fears.

Tyrion broke Tywin's rule about the whore. Tywin is way too proud to let a dwarf to rule as lord of the Lannister's house seat. Tywin's only motivation is the success of his house.

I think it's that simple. Breaking the rule with the whore is just more reason to blow him off.

No Arya Stark. I watched the last 15 minutes of the Season 2 finale and didn't see her then either. Where did we leave her?

Good episode.
I feel like it wasn't a great episode because I'm used to a bunch of murders and other random violance from shows like The Walking Dead. But as I reflect I had to remind myself that this is a very well written show and if you consider all the things that happened tonight and all the things it can/will set up over the next 11 weeks I'm good with it.

She left (dan) HarenHall with the Baratheon B@stard and parted ways with the mysterious Killer dude that "wanted three names".

It looks like we will see her next chapter next week from the previews.

Also - I'd bang margaery tyrell like a gong.
Probably the most bangable woman on GoT so far. Definitely now since Doreah has probably been eaten by Xaro by now in that vault in Qarth.
The "mother of Dragons" in season 1 was/is smoking hot. I'll probably lose my man card over this, but her eyebrows irk the hell out of me now.

Under rated funny Moment from tonight, and I know this isn supposed to be a high content show not dumbed down by CGI, I laughed when the Dragon caught the fish and char broiled him and ate him in one swoop.

Are there any who aren't "bangable?"
No, but Margaery is tops on my list, IMO.
Even the Starke *******'s chick who looks like she's from Starke, FL is highly bangable. And she's bringing up the rear. There is some serious talent on this show. I'm taking at least mother of dragons and Rob Starke's wife over that one. Probably some others. Sanya's lil' helper. Maybe Carcetti's lil helper. And Sersei.

"Like"

Only non smoking hot chicks on the show that come to mind are Starks Mom, her sister in the vail and the north woman thats running around with the Stark Boy. Actualy Theon Greyjoys sister isn't exactly hot".

Margaery and Daenerys pretty damn close, IMO. Robb's gal is slightly behind those two. But yeah, solid talent on this show for sure.

Ygritte's pretty hot IMO...Guess it depends on whether you like redheads

And the actress is even hotter, IMO...Those eyes are amazing:

I spent eight years in St. Augustine, FL. To me, she looks like a meth-head from Lakeland who in three years is going to have leather skin, look like she's 102, and have a few felonies under her belt. But as is...now...highly bangable!

Also, Ser Barristan is such a badass
This is where reading the books give you a deeper appreciation for the character. He's been a bit player on the series, but his background is so much deeper than they've been able to show.
I would think so. But to be fair the last two seasons they spoke about him is such high reverance, it seems obvious there was much more to his story.
He was the one who saved mother of dragons?

What would your logic be if you Davos and a rescue boat asked you your allegiance?

Yes, the one that stabbed the scorpion like thingy

Davos has to say Stannis or Joffrey...

He had a 50/50 chance and his honor maintained that he stay loyal to Stannis

Plus they didnt exactly look like "the Royal Fleet" or anything. If the looks of them were to mean anything I would have said Stannis even if I was with joffery.

I'm not reading the book until the show is over. I couldn't possibly give less of a #### how any of their names are spelled. I can barely remember half of their names.

Small issue here... the Davos story was pushed very far in just one episode. I mean I guess alot of the storylines needed to get pushed to get season 3 up and running, but this was really forced. Dude went from missing to a cell in 10 minutes.

Also one more thing..... are we to understand that Lord Baelish did in fact reconise Aria Stark last season? or is he playing games with her sister?

The stories are not completely narratively linear with respect to one another

With that many storylines it would never work

Better to bring it to that point here in E1

Otherwise we'd get that random 4 minute scene in Stannis' castle smack dab in the middle of something else in a subsequent episode

Arsten the Old, er I mean Barristan the Bold as well. A few people were wondering how the disguise would play out since the audience might recognize the actor. Guess eliminating the disguise altogether works best. I didn't mind the Davos shortening, but a few things about Barristan's story, some of which I can't mention, either bothered me (like the sword) or will need a lot of re-working to match up with other scenes.

:goodposting: I figured this story would need some re-working for this same reason.

You can really tell the budget has increased. Sweeping shots of Harrenhal, plus King's Landing now actually looks like a giant city. The scene w/ Sansa by the water was beautiful.

I was re-watching the first two seasons last week for my wife's benefit (she retains show info like a colander retains water) and when Barristan threw his sword down and marched off, I said to her - "we can't possibly have seen the last of him, right?"
