Game of Thrones on HBO: non-book thread (1 Viewer)

Even reading the books, referring to the map and the makeup of all the houses was necessary. It's a complex story with lots of locations, characters, and depth.

Book readers seem to be really interested in him as if his storyline is some kind of big deal, but in the show he's had basically two scenes played by two different actors 2 years apart in realtime. As a show watcher I didn't think he was anything other than some one-off minor character and I certainly wasn't keeping track of where his plotline was going.

Think of the Mountain as the Westeros version of The Gooch in Different Strokes. You never see him....but he's a force unlike anything else.

He was at King's Landing back in season one. After the Mountain (the Hound's brother) chopped his horse's head off and ran away, Ned Stark gave orders to Beric Dondarrion to lead a group to go capture the Mountain. Dondarrion didn't have an eye patch back then, but he does now.

Just watched...great, great episode. The ending scene with Danys was probably the greatest scene since the death of Ned.

and to the poster who doesn't think Natalie Dormer is hot, especially after watching The Tudors,...you are gay.

Didn't say she is hideous, but I'm not on board with those who think she's really hot. Maybe in part because I seem to remember being underwhelmed by the average-at-best boobies she showed in The Tudors...

Cercei was hot in Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. Well, after Summer Glau of course. But she's not hot in this, imo.

As someone mentioned earlier, it was better in the books because of the way it was built up.

What clam to the throne would Margaery have if something happened to Joffrey? Wouldn't his brother then sister be next in line?

yes, she would be queen regent if they got married and Joff dies (without a boy hier). His little brother Tommenn (SP?) would have claim to the throne.

Great episode that had everything I love about the show: backstabbing, scheming, nudity, violence, comedy, and emotionally powerful human drama.

Have loved Arya from the start. Good character, great performances. We are expecting a baby girl in June and while we won't name her Arya, we have referred to her as such in utero on more than one occasion. Love that little tomboy.

 
I'm glad to see the Hound stick around. I thought he was a goner. As bad as as he is, he has some good in him and I hope we get to see more of it.

I'm not liking the insinuations made toward Jorah Mormont by the old dude whose name I cant remember. I've really liked this character and fear he will be usurped by the old dude and lose Dany's trust.

Jaime was amazing tonight. The bath scene was as good as it gets.

 
Basicaly he was whining how everyone calls him kingslayer when he killed the mad king but the mad king was not so nice and ordered kings landing burnt to the ground when the lannister army marched in to help put Robert on the throne. This is simillar to his protestations to Ned on the same subject in season one but more detailed.

And from a storyline standpoint it's getting him from uber cocky warrior to a sympathetic character.

OK, let's try this again. As Tywin said, Sansa is now the key to the North...as someone you know may have said last week. :grad:

And as we've learned so far, claims to the throne in King's Landing are only worth as much as the swords you have at your back. If Margaerie gets the people, maybe she gets the City Watch, and maybe then the King's Guard. "Power is power."

 
OK first of all, in order of appearance, let's rank the asses we got to see.

1. The redheaded wildling...Egress or whatever. We suddenly like her a lot more than we did before. Tight front, great back. We like. Two thumbs up that one! :thumbup: :thumbup:

2. Jon Snow. Only a momentary glimpse, but it looks good. :thumbup: Let's hope for more from this Emo Crow, as long as it means more Egress nudies. :wub:

3. The Kingslayer Jamie Lannister. That's just a really good man-butt. Good for him. Sucks that he lost a hand, but there's always that ### to fall back on...so to speak.

4. She-Ra. I'm truly impressed. I was not expecting anything even in the realm of respectability there. Good on ya, she-hulk! :pickle: Although now that I'm thinking about it, there's a strong possibility that that was a stunt-butt. Hmmmm...not appreciating the potential deception here. :angry:

5. The Gay Succubus. Ummmmmm, am I alone in thinking that was a pretty great ### no matter what the front gear entailed? Seriously, if I was dating a girl with that ###, I would force yoga pants on her every time we left the house. :oldunsure:

Wife is pregnant and she suggested Arya. I tried to contain the excitement, but I think she figured it out.

I would also consider Cersei for a girl or Hodor for a boy...she veto'ed those
