Game of Thrones on HBO: non-book thread (1 Viewer)

I don't care either way because I usually just ask my fiancée about what's going on with the show/books, but I don't understand why book readers post in this thread at all when there is a perfectly good one for them. It's baffling.
But shuke started this thread. And I want him to like me.

It's not perfectly good. The thread started by a fan of the series requires spoiler tags for anything past where the TV show is because 2 years is too short of a time to assume people read the latest book. Petition the other thread to lift the spoiler reqs and maybe we'll flee this thread.

Robb Stark may be the biggest #### up of all time. Every decision he made was impulsive, selfish and ultimately led to the death of his kin and bannermen, as well as the Stark war effort. You have to think the Starks have taken the last of their beatings. At least the remaining members aren't morons.
Please, retire the account or hand it to someone else. K, thx. Bye.
In fairness, he is quoting a post that is dead on. Robb was the suck.

So you come in here and piss everyone off because you don't like spoiler tags? That doesn't make sense. It's a free board. Start a GOT book/TV show thread that doesn't have spoilers. What's stopping you? Put that ####ing thing in the baseball forum and call it the 2013 Marlins thread. I guarantee you nobody will read it who you don't want to.

Calling people whiny, willfully ignorant crybabies because you're too lazy to use the other thread with spoilers. What a tool.

You could've said that and saved yourself some time and effort (and continued not caring by not actually posting about something you don't care about). I figure I'm bringing the same level of doosh as a few of the super whiners that flip out because you talk about how the actors are playing the characters because you mention the books. Use the doosh properly by getting the sand out and maybe things will change.

I don't think you have the causality quite right. But carry on.

I think I meant yet instead of because. I went back to fix it but this new board sucks.

i didnt even know there were books until after season 1...

this thread is like my cousin vinnie scene when he was quizzing the blind lady and the judge jumps in. every post i have to start, the tv viewers and only the tv viewers what did you think? I frankly dont understand the infatuation of having to "prove" you know whats happening because ypu read, i just dont get it ...

My main purpose in reading this thread is to see (and enjoy) the reactions of non-book readers to the show. I think a few carry the spoiler victim complex a bit far, but all of the fighting about spoilers really degrades the possibilities of this being an interesting thread. Might as well rename it to Book vs. Non-Book, as relates to Game of Thrones.

You're still wrong ,but carry on. Lazy has nothing to do with it. People don't get everything they want in threads. Nobody's giving out spoilers so sandy boys should quit whining.

It's YGRITTE!!!!!!!!!

But they never spell it on the show so don't correct it I guess.

you would think for people who enjoy reading, they wouldnt have such a hard time with reading comprehension.

You'd think people that think they pick out little tiny details out of "book oriented posts" would actually pick up the info from the show and not need to ask about it.

Definitely ruining this thread. I'll let it go. Just wish it could be simple and the book people would stick to the book thread. I guess that's asking too much though.

Should have known something was up when Bolton (I think it was Bolton) turned down the wine.
i thought that was strange too, but he didn't drink with Jamie Lanister either. and one thing i'm sure they'll clue us in on for the finale is who the guys f'n with Theon are
if I am remembering correctly, there was one of those torture-X thingies theon is strapped to on robb's Risk board as he is talking strategy with mom. there have been a number of clues to who it be.

Ill stop posting here. I'm just a big fan/nerd and wanted to help people undestand things more. I've tried not to spoil anything and if you guys don't want enhanced info or to realize the things you missed, fine. Ask in the other thread. Just know that this stuff is so vast that its easy to miss things whether you read or not, so there's no shame in asking. I've read the books and need to again, but without looking at sites and asking questions in the other 2 threads here I wouldn't have gotten as much enjoyment and appreciation of the series.

yes, on his giant risk map, that was the first time i really noticed it but i just thought the X Theon was on was just a good build for torture, didnt think it was a banner.... like if the banner was an S would they have an S shaped torture board?

It's been shown repeatedly amongst the banners in Robb's army all season, and probably a lot last season as well.

Has to be Bolton's *******. The X torture device is on his banners and he sent his ******* to get Theon. If his plan was to screw over Robb, then it makes sense his ******* would torture Theon for info. I have to imagine the ******* will be hunting Bran soon.

I think the sigil is designed after the torture device and not the other way around....like torturing people is their thing.

In the hbogo extra features there's an interesting backstory to the Bolton's, though I'm not sure that's allowed here.

Except it's not what he wanted to say. But carry on.

Does Bran take this mind control all the way to the throne? Would love to see him controlling Tywin. Or turning the dragons against Danny. Tons of possibilities.
so far, all it looks like he can do is put people to sleep...
And attack in wolf form.

I think the victim would need to be pretty weakminded in order for him to control them. I just don't see Tywin getting caught with his pants down and get taken out by a little guy.

So, was that the best episode of GoT yet? Blackwater? The episode this year where Dany slaughtered the slavers with the dragons and her new army? Ned's death episide?

i thought overall it was, they all have had holy #### moments but the tension was great

Agreed. Besides the Wedding, it was the coolest Bran's story has been in a long time. Jon had a major turning point and Dany's crew got to tear it up.

Who needs legs when you can take the control of direwolves?
I think that as Bran hones his power, he'll just take control of tavern wenches and have have sex with his own limp warged-out body.
