I am pretty sure that Frey never says "My King" or any other similar phrases that carry a connotation of fealty.I get that the song was a cue to Frey that everything was ready but it wasn't noticed by anyone except Kat and even she sat down to listen to Frey's speech after they stopped playing it. She had the idea that something was up but she wasn't that alarmed. I almost wish they would have begun the carnage as soon as she recognized the song. When the guard closed the door and she looked up at the band, I said that they must be playing the Lannister song (even if I didn't recognize it) The brief stop and Freys speech gave me time to realize that this must be the carnage everyone (book readers) talked about. No one is safe! I knew right away they would all die. Nice try by Kat but there was no way Frey was letting any of them go.
I thought Frey saying "The King in the North arises" was such a brutal line right there. The guy playing Frey was perfect.
