Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (2 Viewers)

I am not saying it's bad TV, if it was I wouldn't be watching.  I agree some good stuff happened this week, and it is really good to have Tyrion actually speaking during the show.  I just don't think the acting from some main characters is that good - Dany, Jon, Bran mostly, so I check out a bit with them.

Just surprised that people seem to like it that much more than the first two is all.  I think Ep1 was good, and this was a little better than last week.
Kinda felt this way a bit too.

And enough already with the over-the-top little finger stuff.

Even though Danny's dragons were born of magic, I'm still holding out hope that at least one of the dragons is a female and has laid some eggs somewhere:

a) Inside the great pyramid of Mereen (they spent a lot of time down there)

b) Somewhere in the hills of Essos. Drogon disappeared for a while - is "he" a male dragon, or are the females the larger and more ferocious of the species?

c) Now that they've landed in Dragonstone, maybe they've learned how to get their groove on. We've already been foreshadowed the ballista bolt that can penetrate a dragon skull. When one gets skewered, Danny discovers a new batch of eggs sitting underneath Dragonstone. It may be one of the final scenes of the series, but I'm throwing it out there.

Khaleesi seems like a responsible pet owner.  I'm sure she had them spayed and neutered.

Anyone up for a reverse survivor pool?  You call the next character to die (3rd sand snake not available, but mommy would be).

what happens if one of Dany's dragons mates with one of the Ice Dragons belonging to the Night King?

If they introduce a bridgekeeper this season, it would take this series up to 11

A few guesses as to what happens

- Dany abandons hope of gaining Iron Throne while she goes to help up north

- One or two of her dragons die in the fight against the dead, only to be brought back to life by Night King

- Winterfell gets overrun by the dead - most of the northerners die in the process

Thats all I got

What weaponry do the dead have to accomplish this?  I'd think the dragons alone would make short work of the dead army.

All the white walkers carry spear like weapons. Considering the white walkers inherent strength and destructive capabilities of the spears, seems like a formidable weapon potentially.

The dragon either gets clubbed down or speared by a Giant wight.  Once down it is smothered in wights and killed.

I'm guessing the ice dragon the Night King eventually mounts is one of Dany's three dragons after it's been killed.

ETA, others beat me to it. I was thinking someone hurls one of those huge spears at it. The one that shatters metal. It wounds the dragon and makes it land. Then it's a horde of the dead crawling all over it.

Do people think both wars will be happening at the same time or will the war in the south finish before heading north to finish off the show?

I think for maximum effect, at the same time. The Walkers have been, well walking, for quite some time. Like 3 episodes now. I feel like we might be seeing the last of Tormund pretty soon. They went to garrison the castle they would have to go through first. I sure hope he survives tho. I really want him to hook up with Brienne. When he is around her it cracks me up!

I just hope it doesn't end with all hope seemingly lost until Danys comes flying in on her dragon to save the day.

First, I can almost guarantee that will happen

Second, but it also depends on how fast the dragon can fly and the track of the jet stream at the time...

the only thing, aside from the complete defeat of her armies, that would scare/motivate Dany enough to forgo the Iron Throne would be to see the NK+Army of Dead in person.

I think she will have already taken the Iron Throne before the war vs. the dead happens.

could be.

though i think she'll be put into a position where she has to make a choice between the Iron Throne and defeating the Night King. of course, those  two things are not mutually exclusive.

That's my thoughts on it.

The question becomes, what will it take for her to believe Jon Snow? To believe the walkers exist? To understand the threat? If she doesn't see them until they have brought winter to Kingslanding, wouldn't that mean that the Starks/Snow are dead already?

Snow will have to bring her one - or she flies North to see on her own.

I honestly don't think either of those are options. I just don't know how they (the writers) will pull it off.
Jon Snow says he'll bend the knee if she agree to go North to see?

After losing Dorne, the Tyrells and the Greyjoy fleet...she needs bodies.*

* Her ### should be getting rid of Tyrion as Hand of the Queen.  He kind of sucks.

does Bran have the ability to do some Vulcan Mind Meld 3 Eyed Raven business and give Dany a vision of what's happened or what is going on currently?

Probably not. At the very least she'd have to touch a weirwood tree to even have a chance of it working. She's not a northerner so that further lowers the chance.

The previews this week aren't super enlightening.  I went back and did review the season long previews and there are some clues in there as to what this episode should turn out to be like if you can manage to stitch the two together.

Seems to indicate Dany is left alone without any army, the dothraki are fleeing and her allies are RIP.  She's advocating doing something reckless, and gets the dragons involved.  There are quick cuts showing dragons engaging ships in a previous season long preview.

Rest of the preview is really heavy on "well duh" type moments.

Sort of funny that they did preview the exact sort of hypothetical conversation I was joking about earlier this week.  Paying off the iron bank, just to turn around and have the iron bank give you more money.  Because????Transaction fees?????Overnight fed funds rate????

Looks like the guy that has died alot is back in the mix.

Also it would appear from interneting the entire episode 4 script is out on the intertubes.  I haven't validated this report.

plus, there's the scene where Beric (the guy who died a lot) has a flaming sword in his hand. i think that's supposed to be important.

Dany and Cersie's armies are battling it out and the dead appear off in the distance. You can tell because winter will be taking over the landscape as they advance...annnnnd scene. Wait until 2019 for the final season :D

That's the thing. For them to be that far south it would mean they have overrun Winterfell and all of the north. I feel like Winterfell is where this all ends. The story started north of the wall, but it really started in Winterfell and I feel like that's where it will end. That's where they make their stand. Jon Snow and the Night King going toe to toe in the crypt or in front of the Weirwood tree, maybe?
