Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (6 Viewers)

Someone said it above and I had a similar thought..... i wonder if the head white walker is going to end up being reagar or whatever his name was...

This episode really gave you a lot to work with.

What a wussy Tommen is.
Not really sure what his choices are. Last week he stood up out of his seat and the crazy religious folk all pulled weapons on him. Seems that they run the show now
I hate to nitpick on a great episode but I thought they should have shown Tommen's reaction to his mother's imprisonment.
I think it works. He isn't playing the game. He is irrelevant. For now at least. Maybe he grows a spine.

I liked the impact of simply seeing Cersei react to her cuckolded son's inability to function on his own. I don't think adding another scene with Tommen would have added much to that image.

P Kev's new shtick is a little transparent.

I think the White Walkers are more interesting because they're not just some unthinking force crashing southward, but an actual army with organization/tactics. But they don't really need any supply lines or can be bogged down by the weather like a conventional army, and they can replenish as they go. I guess the 64k question is how they breach the wall, but after that, how many soldiers are they going to net (people killed/zombies created - zombies killed) at/between the Wall and the South? Yikes.

The geographical location of Hardhome would lead one to believe that the WW's came for it specifically, as it's somewhat out of the way on the path to the wall. Unless they're just tracking down the coast.

Didn't Sam run into them by the Fist of the First Men a couple seasons ago?
Doesn't it tell you this in your fancy books you read? :)
...or Sam tells as much last episode when he reminds us where he got the dragonglass. But continue on with your book reader witch hunt...

Those were World War Z zombies, not Walking Dead Zombies. If those Zombies were on the walking dead, it would have been called the running freakin' fast dead.

I loved the massive cliff dive by the zombies.

They should have been called "White runners"

That was fun. So much better than the rest of this season. Big problem is will everyone else south of the wall believe John's story?

Or Benjin Stark, Jon's uncle who never returned from north of the wall back in season 1. I thought he and Jon stared at each other for a while. I was trying to figure out if the armor the WW was wearing had Benjin's marking.

Now that Sansa knows both her brothers are alive, what's her play there? Press Theon for more information and leave to try to find them on her own?

One major effect is that she now knows that, as long as Bran or Rickon are alive, she is not the heir to Winterfell. Obviously, might makes right to a large extent, but in the context of the "The North Remembers" theme, her offspring with Ramsey would be inferior to the claim of either Bran or Rickon.

How would Rhaegar targareyan become a white walker? He died south of the wall.

Maybe its Uncle Benjen
Just a guess but that guy looked like he's been a white walker for more than a few years

I suppose it's possible but I don't see that as a necessary plot device. Let's say it is...what does that mean? It's not like they can bring him back or anything.

I think they just focused on that guy because he looked cool. I don't think it was meant to provoke any "who do you think he is?" Conversation

I'm glad the finally spelled out the MAJOR motivation for bringing the windings across the wall. Jon's decision is a much more sound one with that little obvious realization.

100K undead = not good
You needed it spelled out for you?
Before it was just smart to have more numbers but Did he know that white walker "king" could turn people into his army? Looked like Jon Snow was learning that from the boat.

I thought they knew that already - that is why they burned the dead.

Probably. I just figure Uncle Benjen makes an appearance before the end of the series. Odd that he simply disappeared with no resolution.

Jon saw the reanimation of crows back in season 1 or 2, and he has been counselling to burn the bodies of the dead. This was not new information.

I expect Sansa will send Brienne to find her brothers.

If Ramsay leaves to attack Stannis, that's the opportunity for Sansa to bail im thinking, or do something
He wouldn't take all his pets with him?
not sure why he would, if you are taking 20 good men, I cant see the need for a hobbling oaf and a women
Ramsey isnt a battle commander. I guess I thought he would use those two in a "look who I have" moment and then stab everyone while they sleep or something. Not sure if Stannis would care enough though.

How about this... Ramsey betrays dad and sides with Stannis, as long as hes given the north. Dad already let him know the other kid has a claim, which Sansa reminded.

Jaimie gave his sword to Brienne

Joffreys sword went to his brother.

There are a few others out there too. Little finger mentioned one and obviously Jons sword is made from it.

Wasnt Tyrions dagger that was used against lady stark also valyrian steel?

And yeah... dragon glass arrow heads, daggers and swords, axes , forks, sporks.. wharever. No reason to #### around. I was disappointed how long it took jon to remember the stuff. Thought the giant was going to grab one too

Bingo - yes the dagger was.

Don't they have a limited supply? I assumed what was in the bag was all that Sam found.

It'll be interesting to see if word of the WW's (esp if they somehow breach the wall) gets to Dany before she sets out for Westeros. At that point it becomes a humanitarian mission, which I guess is what Dany views Westeros as anyway, but a much more difficult one.

The best thing about that episode was it came out of nowhere. We had 7 episodes building up to a bunch of stuff and not one of the things being built up to was a battle with the white walkers.

sam giving jon the dragonglass last week was an awfully big hint that something was coming involving white walkers.

Yes. The king didn't turn the people. We've seen dead people turn already without the king and be burned. That was just for dramatics to show how they just increased their army's size.

Also, agree with the post above. The king has been the king for a long time, probably during the last long winter. I don't think the king is some guy we've seen in the show. Maybe one of his bad-### lieutenants, but even then I would just think anyone who died in the show is just a regular old one. Not that they can't be seen and have an impact, like the kids did to that idiot lady who let them eat her.

oh- maybe. I got the impression it was a more common thing, but that they just hadn't utilized it in weapons (why sam sent the dagger with jon). that based on them having the name "dragon-glass" being readily knowable by everybody who hears it so far.
