Almost forgot how Tywin died, then I remembered the dwarf killing him
Cersei handed everything to the Sparrow on a silver platter when she let them arm themselves and become a military force. It isn't like the Sparrow had some brilliant plan. He just took what was foolishly given.Joffery was a wimp except when it came to those he could push around.
Tywin on the other hand would have been a formidable foe for the High Sparrow. I doubt any of this would be going on if he was still alive and I don't think it's a coincidence it all began once he was killed. I'm guessing the High Sparrow saw Tywin's death as the perfect opportunity to stake his claim to power. He knew the true power in the throne had gone.
But none of that happens if Tywin was still alive. No way he allows it and no way the High Sparrow even attempts to take advantage of the throne the way he has. He knew all about what everyone had been doing but no way was he going to do anything about it while Twyin was alive. But once he was killed. Now he could strike because there was no longer true power behind the throne.Cersei handed everything to the Sparrow on a silver platter when she let them arm themselves and become a military force. Yeah, these guys took a while to grow on me at Grantland but now I really enjoy their stuff. Poor Rubin in particular looks scared to death on television. Those guys have been doing this via podcast for Bill Simmons' network for a while and had a solid following, and they still podcast about other TV/pop culture stuff, but this is a step up for them. They seem kinda awkward and tentative so far but the podcast was great so I bet this will improve a lot too. Gotta figure out what internet shtick works on TV for a bigger audience and what doesn't, and learn not to look like you're about to piss yourself on camera. Same thing happened when the internet-famous nerds from my favorite podcast on the NBA got their own TV show.
This is true, but for the moment I can't get too worked up about a character who is making life miserable for Cersei.Because deep down everyone dislikes religious fanatics as soon as they stop suiting your needs, which doesn't take long.
Holding Loris and Margery as basically hostages makes it a pretty delicate situation. Especially with no one on the inside like with Joffrey. The ability of the High Sparrow to continue to hold the Tyrell's doesn't sit with me. Grandma Tyrell orchestrated a plan to have the freaking King poisoned and yet her grandchildren sit and get abused in dungeons/cells this long? C'mon now.
They also made some highly questionable decisions about which cities to label. The whole right side hasn't been mentioned. Look at the far left fifth and near the middle where Slaver's Bay is. That's where the story takes place.
One of them need to brush their teeth once in awhile.Yeah, these guys took a while to grow on me at Grantland but now I really enjoy their stuff. Poor Rubin in particular looks scared to death on television.
"Knew he could strike?". Wasn't he sitting somewhere in some alley doing nothing when Cersei found him?But none of that happens if Tywin was still alive. No way he allows it and no way the High Sparrow even attempts to take advantage of the throne the way he has. He knew all about what everyone had been doing but no way was he going to do anything about it while Twyin was alive. But once he was killed. Seems like Melissandre knows. Didn't she call him a prince in this episode? So, Jon was born up in that tower to Ned's sister. Got it. The real question is, how many people know that?
They also made some highly questionable decisions about which cities to label.
She called him "The Prince That Was Promised" - but she's hoping that's true, not certain.Seems like Melissandre knows. Didn't she call him a prince in this episode?
Even if Ned raised his sister's baby as his own he's still a *******, and not a prince unless I'm missing something.
The Prince that was promised could easily be Bran.
There is speculation they were secretly married.Even if Ned raised his sister's baby as his own he's still a *******, and not a prince unless I'm missing something.
The Prince that was promised could easily be Bran.
She was kidnapped by the guy, I'm gonna guess he didn't drag her to the alter. And if this was the case how is this gonna come to light now? Both are dead.No if she was married to the Targaryen when it happened.
She was kidnapped by the guy, I'm gonna guess he didn't drag her to the alter. And if this was the case how is this gonna come to light now? Both are dead.
Bran has always seemed to be the likely "prince that was promised" there was earlier crap about M seeing things relating to his storyline too.
Kidnapped? That's your takeaway? She was kidnapped by the guy, I'm gonna guess he didn't drag her to the alter. And if this was the case how is this gonna come to light now? Both are dead.
Bran has always seemed to be the likely "prince that was promised" there was earlier crap about M seeing things relating to his storyline too.
We keep saying Daenerys story is moving backwards. She is a Dragon BBQ of the Khals that are gathering away from taking controll of the Dothraki horde. Combine them with the unsullied, second Suns and by the time it's all said and done the three cities that are in open rebellion and she's ready to cross the narrow sea.Would have been cool if they could have found a way to make Sean Bean look really young and do the flashback.
They seem to be really pushing Jon Snow's story forward now. He's free from the watch and it seems like they're getting close to revealing his parentage likely tying him to the crown. Too bad Daenerys' story is still moving backwards.
Podrick vs Bronn vs Tyrion for the right to rule Westeros will be the season finale. I mean, if we're going by ability with prostitutes.Jon Snow, Bran, Daenerys, none of their stories will matter in the end.
Podrick will be the one sitting on the Iron Throne when it's all said and done. When prostitutes throw you freebies, who can stand against you?
The ships burning is a definite step backwards. She already had enough land troops to supplement the dragons a few seasons ago.We keep saying Daenerys story is moving backwards. She is a Dragon BBQ of the Khals that are gathering away from taking controll of the Dothraki horde. Combine them with the unsullied, second Suns and by the time it's all said and done the three cities that are in open rebellion and she's ready to cross the narrow sea.
Even better if she hooks up with the new iron born and has a new fleet.
I don't think she ever particularly cared for Robert. So tell me why Jon can't be Robert Baratheon and Lyanna's son?
Maybe she really liked to get around?
Maybe she liked to drink? That's how I somehow keep having the sex.I don't think she ever particularly cared for Robert.
Basing this on what???I don't think she ever particularly cared for Robert.
There has been nothing in the show to indicate that it couldn't be Robert's kid. Based on the genetic hair color idea the show has pushed, it's the most logical. So tell me why Jon can't be Robert Baratheon and Lyanna's son?
Maybe she really liked to get around?
Because then Ned wouldn't have had to hide him as he wouldn't have been a Targaryan. So tell me why Jon can't be Robert Baratheon and Lyanna's son?
Maybe she really liked to get around?
Yes, it's been determined that you're slightly more likable than Dwight Howard. Slightly. You bungwads figure this out yet?
Crap. I was really trying to get you to like me.Yes, it's been determined that you're slightly more likable than Dwight Howard. Slightly.
The result was determined by a cabal of game of thrones LARPers - I'm just reporting the outcome.Crap. I was really trying to get you to like me.
Robert wanted to kill all of The Targaryns, it's plausible that Ned pretended Jon Snow was his basterd to protect him from Robert.Because then Ned wouldn't have had to hide him as he wouldn't have been a Targaryan.
Right.Robert wanted to kill all of The Targaryns, it's plausible that Ned pretended Jon Snow was his basterd to protect him from Robert.
That would also be a bit more in line with Ned's character that we've seen so far.
Hide him from the Lannisters because he would be a threat to the alliance with them since the whole marriage to Cersei is based on a Baratheon/Lannister heir.Because then Ned wouldn't have had to hide him as he wouldn't have been a Targaryan.
This is probably the strongest evidence. However, think about how important prisoners have been through out the show. Possessing a Stark and potential future Baratheon queen is very valuable. Even if a battle is lost, possessing her is a major bargaining piece. They made the point to ask why those two dudes weren't fighting with Rheagar against Robert and that Rheagar was dead. Why is Rheagar having maybe the greatest swordsmen who ever lived and another dude guarding some pooped out ho that he kidnapped and then ran a train on unless there's an heir involved?
No. Lysanna was promised to Robert. Rheagar kidnapped her. Neds father and elder brother went to see the Mad King to get her back....he burned them and that's what set off the war. It wasn't until all the dust settled and Lysanna was dead that Cersei and Robert were married. Cersei admits as much to Robert in Season One that he doesn't love her, but loves a ghost.Hide him from the Lannisters because he would be a threat to the alliance with them since the whole marriage to Cersei is based on a Baratheon/Lannister heir.
I think it's a Targaryn, but just saying the Robert as dad isn't impossible.
True. But it doesn't do Rheagar any good if he's dead. This is probably the strongest evidence. However, think about how important prisoners have been through out the show. Possessing a Stark and potential future Baratheon queen is very valuable. Even if a battle is lost, possessing her is a major bargaining piece.
But Rhaegar was married to Elia Martell. Is polygamy allowed in Westeros? I didn't think that was a thing. So this is what has been a little suspect about the theories/speculation. Even if he is Lyanna's/Rhaegar's son, he is most likely still a ******* and it really does nothing for his own inner struggle/arc. However being of both Stark and Targaryean lineage could/will have some significance when Winter finally comes. There is speculation they were secretly married.
Once Tommen dies, there really is no clear path to the throne. Who ever wants it can probably take it...
Well if she was in Rhaegar's custody for long enough to be raped, impregnated, and give birth, presumably she was away from Robert long enough to rule him out as the father? The timeline is never really spelled out though. So tell me why Jon can't be Robert Baratheon and Lyanna's son?
Maybe she really liked to get around?
