Huh? Why would this info cause Tyrion to backstad Dany? Jaime never really thought Tyrion killed Joffrey.Reddit comment I liked:
Paraphrasing. - Jamie realized after giving the poison that the entire ####storm they are in right now was brought on by his Dad falsely accusing his son of murdering his son, likely with his knowledge.
This opens up the possibility of a backstab of Dany by the imp among other things if he finds a way to share that info.
Yes. Please keep up.Wait I'm supposed to be paying attention to the opening credits too?
There are massive inconsistencies with the show right now, and I think this is the cost of rushing through the final two seasons (not that I can disagree or criticize that decision because I've no idea what the reasons are for it or what is behind that decision.) After the first two episodes of the season, it looked like Cercei was SOL with no allies and strong enemies everywhere. She was essentially written off for purposes of discussions like this one and the only question was how she would die. But there's another whole season to go. She was always going to have a few victories before the fall. We're still wondering how she's going to die, but now the question now is how much damage she does on the way out and whether she'll still be around next summer when the final season starts. So I thought the episode was great. Great TV that is. The writing continuity is getting way out of wack though. Last week Olenna was told to go home and raise her army and march them on King's Landing. In the time that she made it to Highgarden and did nothing in the way of mobilizing her army, the enemy caught the Dornish, held a parade through the streets, had some more incestuous sex, mobilized their army and marched all the way to Highgarden. Once there, they defeated a larger army that was defending a stronghold and the show played it off as "Well, your boys are tougher than ours." If that was the case, then the Tyrells were never a threat to the Lannisters and the last 3 seasons of drama was bull####.
I realize that the show needs to have Cersei look powerful in order for there to continue to be drama, but at this point Euron could've taken over Westeros whenever he wanted with how powerful they're making him out to be. Lannister's 10,000 men defeated the largest army in Westeros without trouble and Qyburn clearly schooling every Maester in history before him makes Cersei look as though she has more than a passing chance. It's almost like they're trying to portray her as the favorite, which is just absurd when we recall how afraid she was of the Tyrells less than a full season ago.
It's not a random tree and it's not the only tree we've seen like that. It's pretty important to the plot (that particular tree and the fact that they exist at all and why). Pretty stupid to criticize something if you're someone who knows he hasn't seen every episode and don't have the context. Never mind the fact that we just saw that tree in the season finale last year, and many times before that.
amazing Exactly this. Dorks in here are hardcore. One thing I've learned from this tree discussion is that this show and every single item surrounding it is of the very most serious business.
I was hoping they'd have a scene where Jamie says, "hey Randall, do you like my Valeryan steel sword? Its kind of small, but pretty cool right? Can I see yours now?"I believe last week Jaime told Randall Tarly he was the only man to defeat Robert Baratheon in battle and the Lords of the Reach would follow his lead. He;s much more than a minor lord with a small hold.
Not cause but could setup a later encounter. Its also fairly clear imp is in it for himself.Huh? Why would this info cause Tyrion to backstad Dany? Jaime never really thought Tyrion killed Joffrey.
And both times show up completely by surprise as if no scouts exists and nobody can look at the horizon.I don't think that was his point.
The Unsullied and Yara's fleet left at the same time. The Unsullied were already closer to Casterly Rock than Euron's fleet, yet Euron's fleet apparently had time to intercept Yara's fleet, go back to King's Landing, have a parade, make some sex jokes, and then sail to Casterly Rock ahead of the Unsullied fleet (who had been sailing that way the whole time, from a closer starting point and without any detours) to lay the trap.
I was a couple pages behind, didn't realize it had been beaten to death so much when I posted that. Sorry.amazing
This part doesn't make any sense. How am I supposed to know something didn't exist previously if it was my first time seeing it.I was a couple pages behind, didn't realize it had been beaten to death so much when I posted that. Sorry.
But my point stands that you didn't post "hey guys what5s up with that tree I can't remember". You basicallu just ignored the fact that you know you haven't seen everything and said it was ridiculous or whatever anyways.
I'm not up in a nerd rage about it--its just a pet peeve of mine when people basically revel in their own ignorance about something they're discussing. Even that's overstating what you did here, it's just something I have a hard time ignoring. But I would have if I'd seen the rest of your posts.
Pretty sure neither army was on the boats. I'd be a little surprised if we heard from Dorne again though, because the show hasn't established any other characters who might bring their army north (unless Ellaria gets free somehow). So the armies of Dorne & Highgarden WERE on Yara's bhotes, interesting. That battle scene last week falls even flatter knowing that then.
Good stuff all the way around, Not a lot to the backstory of Euron IMO, see spoiler if interested. Dany needs to bust out the dragons ASAP. She was an air advantage over every army she would go up against except Esgaroth, better start using them before she is out of armies.
He spent his life sailing the word, seeing stuff, doing stuff and fighting stuff. I believe they even mention it as a throw away line when he first pops on the scene. He's a pirate doing pirate stuff
Book people in this thread say he's got some lord or light #### going on.And both times show up completely by surprise as if no scouts exists and nobody can look at the horizon.
HOW DARE YOU!!There were some additional really weak dialogue sections this week. Sansa directing people to put leather on armor was cringeworthy, as was all the whole "we need food for mah bellyz" stuff.ldrolleyes:
Sansa as a whole had a really weak acting and dialogue episode. I'm really starting to move her down into the Dormer tier of hot girls that can't really act their way through bad lines.
Maybe it was because there were so many classic lines and deliveries this episode that made her look especially weak, not sure.
Maybe a random new Sword of the Morning.Pretty sure neither army was on the boats. I'd be a little surprised if we heard from Dorne again though, because the show hasn't established any other characters who might bring their army north (unless Ellaria gets free somehow).
I think watching a show like this my first reaction would be "that's kinda goofy to just come out of nowhere, I must have missed something". Rather than just assuming it doesn't make sense, since I know I haven't seen it all. But maybe I'm being too charitable with myself. This part doesn't make any sense. How am I supposed to know something didn't exist previously if it was my first time seeing it.
In the second episode she was on her way to KL when she ran into Hot Pie. After doing her impression of the Hound, she found out that the Bolton's are dead and Jon Snow is king of the north. She turned around and headed north. She's likely still on the road. Covering 200 miles on horseback might take a few days. Too bad the many faced god doesn't have that teleporter that Varys and Jorah used.I'm surprised we didn't see or hear any mention of Arya in that episode. Is she still heading towards Cersei? Maybe changed her mind and will join up with Jon Snow?
I think we knew from her last episode, she is going to Winterfell. She came out of Hot Pie's place, thought about it, and headed North (where she then ran into her direwolf.)I'm surprised we didn't see or hear any mention of Arya in that episode. Is she still heading towards Cersei? Maybe changed her mind and will join up with Jon Snow?
See, this right here is why Cersei will never be as good of a schemer as her father. She lets emotion run her too much. A truly wise ruler would've seen that they have the last two Dornish rulers in their dungeon and would've found a way to use that to bring Dorne into their fold. I guarantee if Tywin was still alive, Ellaria would've been held captive to ensure Tyene's cooperation and Tyene would've been married off to Jaime in order to force Dorne to their side.Everyone is writing Dorne out of the show, but the queen is still alive and even more pissed than she was before. If she somehow escapes, that would be awesome.
ThisGame of Thrones has some of the most annoying fans I swear....Euron's ENTIRE fleet did not have to turn around for Kings Landing. It's totally believable that he captured Yara, and bolted for KL in his enormous ship, and let his remaining fleet continue on to Casterly Rock.
You guys need so much hand-holding it's ridiculous
I don't think she is the queen of Dorne.A few things:
The whole "I didn't see a real time scene of Euron sailing from here to there and back so this is bull#### and they might as well use a teleporter" needs to stop. His fleet took out the unsullied boats. But at no point in that scene did we see him. I'll have to rewatch the scene, but I'm not sure even his flagship was there. So for all we know, he could've been parading the Dorne queen down the street while his fleet took out the unsullied boats. He could've split his fleet the moment he left Kings Landing after proposing to Cersei. Half went and got Yara and the other half straight to Casterly Rock.
Sansa's acting/lines are bad? She is transforming from the naive little girl who likes pretty things into a leader. They summed that up well in two sentences in a shortened season. That's not bad writing. That's brilliant writing.
Best episode of the season and it's not even close.
Everyone is writing Dorne out of the show, but the queen is still alive and even more pissed than she was before. If she somehow escapes, that would be awesome.
Also, I there is going to be a mess sorting out who gets what here. Cersei and Jamie have no more children. The Tyrell's have nobody left. There's no children left of the Dorne folks. Dany can't have kids. Who do they hand this stuff off to?
Except there was a close-up of his own ship at Casterly Rock. I highly doubt he switched ships to bring the Sand Snakes back to KL and let someone else take his personal ship without him.Game of Thrones has some of the most annoying fans I swear....Euron's ENTIRE fleet did not have to turn around for Kings Landing. She killed the king and the palace guards let her do it. They never show her coronation, but she is the queen. At least for now.I don't think she is the queen of Dorne.

And now we have people saying where are Arya and the Hound? Why aren't we seeing them? Because nothing is happening while they travel north.
Plus the Iron Islands are close to Casterly Rock, and I am sure he would have a bunch of ships there too that could have gotten there quickly.Game of Thrones has some of the most annoying fans I swear....Euron's ENTIRE fleet did not have to turn around for Kings Landing. The lack of scouting for the unsullied doesn't surprise me, although the timing is off as I mentioned earlier. But I agree about Yara...that was awful. And both times show up completely by surprise as if no scouts exists and nobody can look at the horizon.
Yeah I don't get the complaints here, she's changed a lot and it's showing--and she's being in charge.Sansa's acting/lines are bad? She is transforming from the naive little girl who likes pretty things into a leader. They summed that up well in two sentences in a shortened season. That's not bad writing. That's brilliant writing.
I think there are some potential inconsistencies, sure. But I think people need to understand that there is more elapsed time between episodes in Season 7 than in the past. And often significant elapsed time between scenes in the same episode.Except there was a close-up of his own ship at Casterly Rock. I highly doubt he switched ships to bring the Sand Snakes back to KL and let someone else take his personal ship without him.
It's TV magic. We need this important character here now, so we'll ignore the fact that it's physically impossible for them to have made the trip here in this time. Most of the time it doesn't matter to me because many weeks/months/years could've passed and there is no real timeline being followed, but this episode it was pretty obvious that the timing was impossible on both Euron's and the Lannister army's part, yet they were needed where they were so wala... TV magic.
No. That isn't really his style.Did anyone else wonder if Jaime gave Olenna a fake poison to get her to feel free to talk and now he's going to drag her off to King's Landing for public torture?
It was. They made a point of showing it right in the middle of the screen.I'll have to rewatch the scene, but I'm not sure even his flagship was there.
I would of thought she could have gotten there by the time Jon sailed to Dragon stone, Bran made it from the wall to winterfell as a cripple, the king slayer make it to kill the queen, and the Greyjoy guy capturing the Dorne ladies but maybe she stopped to take a few naps along the way.In the second episode she was on her way to KL when she ran into Hot Pie. After doing her impression of the Hound, she found out that the Bolton's are dead and Jon Snow is king of the north. She turned around and headed north. She's likely still on the road. Covering 200 miles on horseback might take a few days. Too bad the many faced god doesn't have that teleporter that Varys and Jorah used.
Yeah. It is just the combo of things. Hopefully this is the last time we see this used as a save the day device for Cersi. The lack of scouting for the unsullied doesn't surprise me, although the timing is off as I mentioned earlier. But I agree about Yara...that was awful.
I was wondering if Olenna had poisoned her own wine for when Jamie came.Did anyone else wonder if Jaime gave Olenna a fake poison to get her to feel free to talk and now he's going to drag her off to King's Landing for public torture?
When he poured the two glasses, this is what I really thought was going to happen.I was wondering if Olenna had poisoned her own wine for when Jamie came.
Yeah I still don't really understand why everyone has a problem with this... we have no concept of time in between these episodes. It's not like you get a notification that says, "later that day...."I think there are some potential inconsistencies, sure. But I think people need to understand that there is more elapsed time between episodes in Season 7 than in the past. And often significant elapsed time between scenes in the same episode.
That was a great episode; thoroughly enjoyable for me from start to finish. And I felt episodes 1 and 2 were both really good. This
And now we have people saying where are Arya and the Hound? Why aren't we seeing them? Because nothing is happening while they travel north.
Jon went by water. They showed them come ashore at Dragonstone to begin the episode. That was a great episode; thoroughly enjoyable for me from start to finish. And I felt episodes 1 and 2 were both really good.
There could be a timing issue with Arya's/Jon's recent journeys. In episode 2, Arya was at the Inn at the Crossroads and decided to head north to Winterfell. In the same episode, Jon decided to leave Winterfell and head south to Dragonstone. Assuming they travel by horse at the same speed, it should take Arya less time to get from the Inn to Winterfell then it would take Jon to get from Winterfell to Dragonstone. But I guess that assumes they left at the same time, and the show didn't tell us when each character departs. It doesn't matter. Maybe Arya is going slow, or something happened to her. Or not. I'm fine with the writers deciding that episode 3 was too busy with other stories to include Arya's story.
Seeing the main characters sharing the same scenes is a great payoff after 6 years of watching, and I'm enjoying every minute of the show.
When Sansa went to the gate, I thought it was going to be Arya. She can't be too far behind... although given how loose they're playing with timelines and travel, who knows.I'm surprised we didn't see or hear any mention of Arya in that episode. Is she still heading towards Cersei? Maybe changed her mind and will join up with Jon Snow?
Train B will get there first. That was a great episode; thoroughly enjoyable for me from start to finish. And I felt episodes 1 and 2 were both really good.

It was more of a hope than a thought for me. Definitely picked up on the lingering on the glasses and guessed they'd be used, but Jaime bringing poison makes sense. When he poured the two glasses, this is what I really thought was going to happen.
Are you really saying people should have missed even one episode of Game of Thrones?Yeah, how dare Capella not watch every episode and remember what every tree looked like.
