Game Thread W1 - Baltimore V Tampa Bay (1 Viewer)

In view of the Bucs' schedule (AFC North, NFC East) this has to be a major disappointment. Looking ahead, I betcha they were thinking this was one of the games that they would win.

No mistakes by the Ravens' offense today, which gave the defense a chance to play with energy throughout. No short fields caused by lost fumbles or INTs. The opening 9-minute drive for a score, followed by a 3-and-out and then a TD off a pick, put Tampa Bay in a tough hole right away.

I don't think Baltimore is as good as it looked today, nor do I think the Bucs are as bad as they looked today. But, in light of recent Ravens' starts and performances on the road, this was pretty encouraging. If they keep it close in the fourth quarter when they can keep pounding those big RBs, they will be a difficult team to beat.

What's the story with Galoway??
i'd like to know as well.
Yo GPN, Galloway bageled in at least 2 games last season...very streaky and usually best as your WR3 in start3 leagues.Michael Clayton is healthy and will get more targets a lot of weeks...IMO. Clayton did not have a great gsame but Galloway's speed today was countered with the speed of the Ravens secondary...wasn't a good match up for the Bucs passing game.

Ravens defense played very well today. Most teams would have had problems moving the ball against them. This is only one game but from what I saw playing even your best players against the Ravens is a situation you may want to avoid.

I don't think Simms is the answer for the Bucs at Qb long term and they pass the ball too much imho. Even early on in the game. But thats Chucky. He likes getting cute.

Caddy was having to make multiple defenders miss just to get positive yardage on the few plays I saw him getting the ball. He is good at it too. But I would like to see better blocking for him and for him to get more carries early in the game when the score was still close.

McNair is still elusive enough to avoid the initial pass rush and get passes off. He looked especialy good on thier 1st drive finding multiple recievers ushualy rolling to the right away from Rice.

Once the passing game was established I think this loosened up the running game a bit and the balance made the running game more effective as well as helping to rest the defense.

The Ravens probobly will not play THIS good every game but they played excellent football today and will not be a good match up for any team on thier schedule based on what I saw from them today.
