Game Thread W11 - NY Giants V Detroit (1 Viewer)

why the Lions dont' just toss up jump balls to Calvin 3-4 times a game is beyond me, he has amazing in the air body control and can outfight defenders. It's silly how much they under utilize the kid

he hasn't been healthy since the Philly game....if you notice those plays tend to result with him landing on his ####...precisely the kind of move that will aggravate his injury.

Calvin is playing. He started and i've seen him on the field a few times, but they have been playing Shaun McDonald and Mike Furrey much more in the first half than Calvin. This year is appearing to be a wash more and more every week. They just do not throw the ball to him enough.
Agreed, I'm not starting him again. This is ridiculous. Can't understand why they drafted the guy to only throw to him 2 times a week. What a waste...
Can you hear me now?

Bad decision- McDonald has been shaky this quarter, couple drops and that weird fumble. Why not go to Johnson or Williams with that play?

further proof that kitna is not a good nfl QB. puts up solid fantasy numbers but kills the lions when they need him most. any lions fan could see that pick coming a mile away. kitna sucks.

Martz's decision to go away from Kevin Jones was silly. Let the Gmen take him out of the game and see how he does....geesh. He just gave up one of his best weapons for no good reason today

yeah but he's an offensive genius so it was obviously the right thing to do. :D

Droughns looks awful to me. I wonder if Bradshaw gets some opportunities if Jacbos and Ward are out next week.

x2 as much as I like Kitna's fire...he makes some terrible decisions. both of those interceptions should never have been thrown. Roy had been open all game and he never even looked at him on either of those last two drives....very frustrating.

Jones had 11 carries for 25 yards. He's a mediocre running back and the Lions are a horrific run-blocking team. There's no reason to continue to slam the ball into the line for nothing.Martz put the Lions offense in some great positions today. Receivers were open all over the field, but they dropped passes right into the Giants hands, or Kitna overthrew them, or Kitna made bad decisions, or the line didn't hold up.

First down, midfield with 2:04 on the clock and they go to the end zone? Horrible decision by Kitna.

Sure there is. You can't let the Giants DEs pin their ears back and rush the passer every down. They have a pile mover in Duckett they could have used too. Play action is also a nice component for a team to add to their passing game if they can establish the run. Either would have given Kitna a half a second more. This is the Eagles former D cooridinator, they're gonna blitz almost every down. If said blitzer is picked up, his spot is open for a short route or a gap to run thru. Furrey and Jones could have had 10 catches each if Martz would concede to moving the ball slowly up the field with dink and dunk passes. Outside of Pierce several teams have had success against the Giants LBers.
