Game Thread W14 - New Orleans v Dallas (1 Viewer)

You know what's more embarassing than losing 49-17? Having your opponent down the ball with 3 minutes remaining. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I'd agree with that. If Dallas cant stop them when they're running out the clock, you're showing them up even more by taking the knee.

I'm actually rather unimpressed with both of these teams tonite. With Dallas giving up 40+ points, it moves their defensive grade from good to questionable. For the Saints, their offense was never in question. They have strong offense. The question mark with the Saints has been their defense. They really don't shut teams down enough. They give up too many points. And that won't change by giving up another 17 (at least) here. The Saints stand a good chance of coming away from this game with worse defensive statistics than when they came in.
They are what they are. The '99 Rams defense was pretty mediocre but you wouldn't have known it given that every opponent seemed to be trailing by 3 TD's after the 1st quarter, allowing the Rams to play defense against offenses forced to throw.
Yes but you would agree that a reasonable margin for error when looking at statistics is to say that if you've given up more points than almost any of the 80 clubs that made it to the super bowl in NFL history, your defense should be questioned.

No, I wouldn't agree.

this was an embarassment

congrats to the saints though, they played great, whopped our ##### hopefully parcells can rally teh troops down the stretch and lead the team to the playoffs.. we'll need to play A LOT better, especially in the secondary to be successful but im optimistic.

LOL @ Michaels/Madden dismissing the Bears as the best team because "it's all been defense" even though they have at least 2 and soon to be 3 more wins. :wall: :wall:

so do they limit colsten next week as well.. or will he be back to his old self again!
I'm guessing Colston would have stayed in longer tonight if the Saints hadn't wrapped up the game so quickly. Unless there's something we don't know about, I'd expect Colston to be back at close to 100% next week.

Playoff game in my league:

Team 1 has Deuce and Team 2 has Brees

Team 1 is trailing by .2 when NO decides to start kneeling the ball. Brees kneels an entire series for a total of -6 yards and Team 1 takes the lead by .3

Neither team has anyone left so kneeling the ball will end up causing Team 2 to lose. Anyone else have a playoff game decided by this.

My league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. Can anybody else think of one?

Huh? This is a dominating performance by the Saints. Calling it anything else is simply foolish.
No, its a dominating offensive performance. They need to show improvement on defense and a high-scoring affair doesn't do that. They still look too soft to me.
Now you've got him started. If you ignore BGPs once a game driveby, he'll go away.
Whatever dude. I really don't care if I have an ounce of credibility with people that post crap like that. Like I say, if I ran this place, I'd just start permanently banning people like you for that sort of crap until it stops. Period.

I wonder what the league record is for consecutive kneeldowns by two teams? This 5 in a row might be it!

Ouch.

Fall of the Romo Empire is a great sign!
It was built on sand by the media. It was going to happen soon enough.
 QB for the Dallas Cowboys is one of those jobs that the media folk look for reasons to pimp. I have Romo on my dynasty team and respect his abilities, but he was already overexposed after only five weeks on the job.
Most happy I didn't allow myself to be sold on Romo during his hot streak - made a key trade for Hass to offset what I felt might be Romo's crash.

Sure thing. The "BGP Effect" is well known by a bunch of folks. If one guy say a hundred people have a problem or if a hundred people say one guy has a problem, what's the most likely scenario?

I don't want it to get lost in all this, but I just wanted to echo something that Michaels said. Having a fireworks halftime show indoors is just stupid.
