No today is my first day, clown :loco: . 4.2 or 8.2...what does that matter? I kinda' think that Mora WANTS to win the game and at this point feels like Duckett gives him team that chance. Go back to FF today--- or better yet, just go away.

Yeah, you're right. Duckett for 2 yards on first down, Vick gets sacked on second down, incomplete on third down. Seems to be working out well for them.What I and others wanted to know was if Dunn was hurt, which he probably is if he's completly out of the game.

A side note:The NFC South has turned into a really great division with some cool rivalries. Realigment really worked out well, Id say. All four of these teams were somewhat lost in space in other divisions, not quite fitting in. Now it looks like this division is one of the most competitive and hotly-contested in football.Now if they could only learn to kick field goals. :)

And the thing is, Atlanta HAS to win this game. A tie is like a loss, so they might have to go for it on 4th down and if they do not get it, that might hand a win to TB.

If so they are morons for not going for it on 4th and 2 on that last drive.

It is like a loss since they would need to win and hope Dallas, Washington and possibly Minnesota all to lose next week to make the playoffs. They needed to win this game, not tie.

Yeah he does. Big time!If they need to win and a loss eliminates them and a tie comes damn close then why didn't he go for it on 4th and 2?

Did he go to the Denny Green school of coaching?

 
4th and 2 with your season on the line in overtime with two minutes to go in a game you have to win and you possess the best rushing attack in the NFL and you punt? Worst decision of the NFL season. Mora deserves all criticism that is thrown his way for this.

The defense & coaching staff deserved to lose. Our offense played well, our defense couldn't make a stop, and our coaching staff made idiotic decisions.
 
Where did everyone hear that a tie was the same as a loss for Atlanta?Taking a look at the standings, Atlanta would not have been eliminated with a tie. If Dallas and Washington both lose next week, and Minnesota loses one of their two games, all three of those teams would be 9-7, and an 9-6-1 Atlanta team would have gotten the last wild card spot.If I'm reading the standings incorrectly, please correct me. Thanks.

Taking a look at the standings, Atlanta would not have been eliminated with a tie. If Dallas and Washington both lose next week, and Minnesota loses one of their two games, all three of those teams would be 9-7, and an 9-6-1 Atlanta team would have gotten the last wild card spot.

I said a tie was basically the same as a loss. By relying on three teams to all lose a game, you are not giving yourself much of a chance. With a win, they would have stood a much better chance of making the playoffs. Instead, they punted (thus, giving themselves almost no chance of winning) and then lost anyway. They are now eliminated from playoff contention.

The offense had a critical turn over that led to a TB touchdown. That made a diffence in the game. You can't set the blame to anyone but the whole team.Where was the offense in overtime to win it?

Even by beating Tampa today, Atlanta would have still needed both Dallas and Washington to lose next week. A win today would have helped in a 10-6 two-way tiebreaker with Minnesota, but other than that, a tie today for Atlanta was the same as a win, not the other way around. I'm sure Mora knew this when they punted on 4th and 2.

The offense had a critical turnover in the first half, but our offense drove the ball on them all day. The offense put our team in a position to win the game, up 24-17 late in the 4th quarter. Defense just has to make a stop but they get drove on (like they did all game). Roddy White dropped a perfect pass, very crucial. Our offense moved the ball in OT but our playcalling was horrendous, especially on that 3rd & 2 (huck the ball) & to decide to punt with a minute remaining on 4th & 2 when a tie does you no good? Yes, everyone could be blamed but THE MOST BLAME should go to the defense & coaching staff.

There's a lot of variables, if we won & beat Carolina next week then Carolina would've finished 10-6 & probably would've been out of contention. Regardless we would've had an opportunity to be in, now we don't.

Guess the fumble on the 30 had nothing to do with TB scoring 7. Huge factor or a 4-13 on 3rd downs. So where was the moving the ball in Overtime, the ST missed a field goal after two weak plays (I could go with blame on ST here), but then the offense were in for 4 plays and 3 plays for a total of about 33 yards or so. Not moving the ball in my book. Now the bucs moved the ball with drives of 60, 38, and 26.The offense looked bad, the defense looked bad (but the offense did not make it easy for them) they held the game close after Vick gave up a fumble on the 30 which led to 7 points. Then after the ST missed a FG, they held the bucs scoreless for two drives while Vick and company struggled to get 30yds.

 
I had to miss the Fourth quarter and OT. Did Donatell go in to his patented "give the other team a TD drive" prevent defense after the Falcons scored with 4 minutes left?From what I saw, I thought the defense played decent. The injury to Hall in the middle of the game with an already thin secondary really hurt.And that's twice we've had terrible fluke plays go against us playing the Bucs this season. :rant: Just wasn't meant to be...

Where did you guess the fumble on the 30 had nothing to do with TB scoring 7? The offense had a critical turnover in the first half, which I acknowledged thus resulting in 7 points for them. Two weak plays? 3 plays for 17 yards which is good. Obviously, the playcalling was to setup for a better FG spot (chip shot). Our first possession we go in OT we go 4 plays for 26 yards (6.5 yards per). Bad playcalling & we punt, Vick slipped and got sacked but our playcalling got too cute. Second possession 3rd & 2 (in position to pick up the first down by running the ball) but we throw it, bad playcalling. 4th & 2, instead of going for it we punt the ball with about a minute left??? The offense did not look bad, any time your offense scores 24 points you should win. Go to the atlantafalcons message board, everyone is saying the offense played well enough to win but the defense & coaches were the reasons we lost. Thats been the story all year, our defense cant make any stops when we need them. Last year, it was the opposite, the defense was the reason we were winning games but this season the defense is the achilles heel & the main reason we're losing.

The defense is doing better than last year as far as scoring is concerned (19 vs. 21 ppg) and the total turnovers are about the same. Only major difference is about 10 less sacks. Offense improved a lot this season, defense stays about the same, and somehow the Falcons end up with a much worse record. EDIT: Special teams has been pretty bad this season.

I think the breaks just aren't going our way this season.
