Game Thread W16 - Carolina V Atlanta (1 Viewer)

Steve Smith's only chance is if they line him up at RB and direct snap. He knocked me out of two playoff games by starting him and this week I face him. Wienke is absolutely killing Smith.

don't have game here...does he look as uninterested and wussy-like as his stats suggest? matte rof seconds before he fakes another injury and sits out rest of the game.
Pretty obvious you're not watching the game. To begin with, the Falcons have barely had the ball offensively & when a pass play is called, Carolina is breaking through Atlanta's O'line & Vick is scrambling for his life.

Vick did have a nice bomb to Lelie, but good D by the Carolina CB to stp lelie from coming down with it. On another play that just happened, Vick's protection broke down (AGAIN) and he was coralled by a Carolina defender against the right sideline12 yards behind the line. Defender had himin his hands, but Vick pulled a move only he could make, broke back to his left, scrambled all the way across the field to the left sideline dodging Carolina players the whole time & nearly converted the 3rd down.

But no, he's uninterested & not trying :lmao:

Terrible overthrow of a wide open Jenkins, by Vick.

Falcons have to go for it on 4th & 4. Carolina calls a time out.

Steve Smith with another championship killing game. That's two total duds in Week 16 in a row.

At least this season I won't be losing by 1 point in the championship game thanks to him.

Sideline reporter (Goose) says Fox told him Carolina's game plan for the 2nd half is all about smash mouth football. They're going to run the ball, run the ball & then just for good measure, run the ball some more - or until Atlanta shows they can stop them.
Siragusa ought to be harpooned.

Is there a more unwatchable team in the NFL than the Falcons? Vick looks terrible and the playcalling is horrible. It's painful to watch their games....

looks like the panther's game plan was pretty effective -- maybe they should have tried it a week or two sooner, rather than late weinke struggle. (well, he still struggled, but with only 10 pass attempts, he couldn't bring the whole team down).

more of the same this week?

The only reason they were able to do it against Atlanta is that Atlanta's offense is beyond atrocious. Vick was 9/20 for 109 and 2 picks, and Dunn/Norwood combined for 49 yards. This is the same Carolina defense that was killed by the Steelers the week before. I'm sure Carolina probably wanted to employ that plan vs. the Steelers but the Steelers scored points (a lot of them) and I suspect that NO will as well which will force Weinke to pass more.
