Game Thread W16 - New England V Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

have eagles fans taken over j-ville? classless f*cks are CHEERING seeing brady writhing in pain on the field. f'n rednecks, hope garrard blows out his ACL.
I agree that it was totally classless. No excuse for that. But I think this is a bit overboard tick.
yeah, maybe the ACL thing was overboard, bad karma & my bad. but frustrating as a football fan to watch some of the ##### jville has been getting away with, and lots of hometown calls, IMO. the fans cheering loudly when brady was belted while sliding/falling was low life.

That's the season for the Jags. I'd like to say good year, but I can't. Too many missed opportunities throughout the year.
All year I've been amazed that they couldn't replace Jimmy Smith. I knew he was a big part of their O but I also liked the potential of their young talented WRs and.....never thought it'd be that way.Matt Jones has been disappointing IMO

was his hand moving the ball forward or was it slapped before? That was a brutally tough call for a ref IMO.

Yeah, a go-to receiver is missing. The WR's are sub par at this point, although Matt Jones came on late. Ernest Wilford is a solid player, but nothing more than that. Reggie Williams gets lost in his own head. The Jags QB's didn't have much to work with this year. Also, the playcalling didn't help alot this year either.

Bad call.

I agree that it was a brutally tough call. But I also think that it's clearly obvious that Garrard's hand was moving forward. Maybe it only moved 1 centimeter before he was hit, but it was going forward.

A little closer than it should have been but it was a solid effort by the Pats:

*Rodney Harrison is a differencemaker. The Pats D steps it up a level when he's out there.

*Jack Del Rio is a mediocre coach. I'm not overly impressed with the job he is doing. The Jags are a team that needs some more maturity.

*MJD is a stud. I've never really seen anything like him. The power in his body is amazing. Combine that with great balance and a never quit attitude and he's threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball.

*Brady had a few bad throws but overall a very gutsy effort that was one of the key components to this win.

*Coming out party for David Thomas. This kid will be a very productive player for years to come.

*Although he missed one kick Gostkowski looks like he's the real deal. The Pats kicking game will be fine for the future.

*The Pats badly need playmakers on both sides of the ball. The lack of playmakers is why a game they should have won a little more handily was close. On defense they need a big time pass rusher and (not that it's any secret) they need a WR that can take make something out of nothing.

*If the Pats can get Watson and Wilfork back and play like this in the playoffs they will be tough. They don't have the room for error like they did in 03 and 04 but they are capable of making some noise. One key factor will be mental mistakes. They won't be able to overcome them come playoff time.

must stink to feel that way(more or less)end a season on a call you disagree with, that's rough too

He reminds me of Joe Morris. He's better than lil Joe but he really reminds me of him

He's more electric than Morris. He gets in those scrums, looks swallowed up, bounces around, disappears and than suddenly appears and looks like he's going to go the distance. It's a running style I don't think I've ever seen before. Morris was a big time back but he ran normally, he just happened to be small. MJD has his own thing going on.

Matt Jones Playcalling has been disappointing IMO
Sure he hasnt been healthy all year and likely that has affected his speed (high ankle sprain IIRC). But the intangibles are still there. Its sickening how we simply forget his skills on the football field.

Lots of single coverage this game as NE was loading the box.

Why didnt we take shots downfield? :banned:

The story of our season...comming up short. Its devastating seeing the Jags go down in this fashion.

I think the only way we make it is

Criteria #1: We win against Kansas City (Jax is 9-7; KC is 8-8)

Criteria #2: Tenessee loses to New England (Tenessee is 8-8)

Criteria #3: New York Jets lose 1 of 2 games or more (Jets are 9-7 --> Jags win due to H2H)

Criteria #4a: If Denver wins today: Cincy MUST lose next game (Cincy is 8-8)*

Criteria #4b: If Cincy wins today: Denver MUST lose next game (Denver is 8-8)**

PHYSICALLY ELIMINATED FROM WILD CARD #1 Seed

*- If Cincy wins last game, they would have conference record tie breaker over Jacksonville

**-If Denver wins last game, they would have conference record tie breaker over Jacksonville

If we lose next week, we are also physically eliminated from the WC regardless of what other teams do.

If Cincy or Denver lose the next two games, they have the TieBreaker over us.

Week 17 games: Cincinatti (Home) vs. PittsburghDenver (Home) vs. San FranscicoBoth are around .500 at home and both are playing relatively weak opponents. Im not sure who to root for in today's game. :( Actually, I think I'll go for Denver in this one. Cincy vs. Pitt not only is a divisional game but has quite a history. I expect a solid effort from Pittsburgh.

maybe it was the quality of TV and their TV cameras but I used to watch and lose Lil Joe in piles too, then he'd suddenly pop out. I agree though there's something more fancy+more burst to MJD's game. I realize he's short but he gets so low to the ground and.... that's just phenomenal balance.

I was very impressed by how physical his runs consistently were. He really brings it every play. To the Pats credit they figured it out and really attacked him as the game went on.
