Game Thread W17 - Cleveland V Houston (1 Viewer)

Where...is...Dayne??????????????????????????????

I know this isn't the venting thread, but I am in two championships this week. I've watched Dayne blow up on my bench in both leagues for the last three weeks. Finally play him this week. And he doesn't even have a touch yet????????

Guy runs for 153 and 2 TDs and he doesn't get a touch the next week. I wonder why the Texans consistantly suck

Dayne is probable all week and coach even comes out and says he's playing and what happens?

Some guy named C Taylor gets an audition for next year. No wonder this team sucks soooo bad!

Thanks for screwing my playoff chances.

What does the team have to gain by running Dayne? Taylor needs to see playing time. Like it or not, the organization could care less about your fantasy team.

Well they finally found a back that is playing good and they take him out, that doesnt make much sense

Nothing about Dayne even mentioned. Taylor just scored. He has been running hard and had a really good drive.

The guy is lowering his head and running people over. Also showing a really good burst through the line.

This team will forever live in the shadows of letting Bush go. They finally find a RB who has been performing above average and they bench him this week.

Rediculous organization. Dayne deserved playing time for his performance and gets the shaft. If he's sick or somethin I take all this back, but with this worthless organization I doubt thats the case...

Taylor looks a little like Fred Taylor while running. I don't know his measurables but he was picked up 3 weeks ago in all three of my dynasty leagues. Now, I see why!

Dayne has amounted to nothing his entire career and doesn't look good running the ball. I knw he's been hot lately. But maybe it's the system more than it is the man himself. Taylor looks like a real live RB. Broad shoulders and powerful legs. Skinny waist. Really does resemble Fred Taylor on the field.

But if he's such a great RB why have they waited until now to get him in? It wasn't like Tomlinson was ahead of him

On the big play, Frye back to pass. From behind a Texan strips the ball. There's a small scrum but replay shows a Texan falls to the ground and collects the football right next to a Brown and no contact is made. The Texan, some 295 DL, gets back up and rumbles with a convoy in front of him into the end zone for a TD.

I don't know....Why not showcase Dayne for a trade? The guy has looked great the last three weeks and could have thrown some big numbers up today. Unless he's your man why not do it? Of course, they did draft a very-overated lineman and overpaid him at #1 too so it doesn't surprise me.

Ron Dayne has absolutely ZERO trade value. I don't agree with alot of things the Txans do but seeing what you have in other players is perfectly fine by me in the last game of the season. They have been trying to get Taylor in since Thanksgiving. Maybe he was slow to pick up on the blocking schemes. I don't know. I know that Daynes play has probably kept Taylor inactive until now.

I'm just telling you what I see in the kid. He was an undrafted player. I'm not saying he's going to be the starter next year. I like what I see and it wouldn't surprise me. Especially if Peterson and Lynch are gone when they pick. I have no clue what will become of Davis.

Well, what we've seen now is the apple not falling far from the tree a couple of times this year. First, Childress showed us earlier what he learned from Fat Pig Andy Reid by misdirecting folks on the Minny RB situation the last few weeks and then the Marcus Robinson situation. Not to be outdone, Kubiak wanted to show us what HE learned from Skeletor Shanahan.

Well done, gentlemen. :banned:

Good lesson learned. I started Dayne in two championships and I am going to lose them both thanks to his zero. I almost lost last week because I didn't play him. Now I will lose because I did play him.

This will probably cost me mine too in my pick em league..

"Ron Dayne has absolutely ZERO trade value."

Certainly doesn't now. I guess when your defense sucks as bad as the Texans then you truly can't get a good read on a back in practice so you have to play him in a real game (if you consider Cleveland a real game).

Face it, your team sucks because of decisions like this. Dayne is one of the most talked about players in the NFL the last few weeks. Had he gone off today there would have been some interest in him regardless of what you think as a homer. If you are going to waste a gane like this at least better your draft position.

As it sits now, Dayne is probably gone for zero value, you looked at C. Taylor (should have looked at him in practice) and he's nothing special, you're going to win the game anyway and lose draft position and you'll still be a crappy team next year...and you wonder why.

But even if what you say is true, then starting Dayne over the last three weeks was an absolutely worthless exercise. Taylor has been on their practice squad all year, and they haven't gotten anything going at running back until Dayne the last three weeks. If he has no future in your orginization, why wait until now to sit him?

I would have loved to see them lose the game and get a better draft pick. I didn't agree with Mario Williams being drafted. And me being a homer has nothing to do with the "trade value" of Dayne. I'm pretty sure Dayne was offered a one year deal. But the deal really doesn't matter in the NFL anyway. Dayne only has value here in Houston and maybe in Cleveland. He isn't starter material in the NFL..... period. Dayne could have went off for 200 yards and then Houston offered him an extension to trade him. What do you think they could get? A moon pie and a RC cola? He's like 29 years old and has done NOTHING in the NFL. I think I could get 150 and 2 TDs against the Colts defense.

He might have a future here. I'm saying he has no trade value and why not see what you have in Taylor.

thought Ken Dorsey was goimg to start today....?? What happened..??

PS.- another day that Ron F**king Dayne earns his middle-name!!!

If Romo was so great why did they wait so long to put him in? You can say that about any number of guys, but the fact is he's making the most of his opportunity. Some players just don't shine in practice the way they do in games.

Ron Dayne has done well - and Taylor ran well today - Kubiak believes his system makes the back, not vice versa. Dayne has no trade value, he has seen his fair share of chances. If Dom comes back next year, the Texans will need to make some choices and I can bet Dayne gets cut and they keep Lundy and Taylor possibly. They will not draft a RB in the first round of this draft - Lynch or Peterson.
