Game Thread W17 - Indianapolis V Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

Go Jaguars! Congratulations to MJD for winning the rushing title! With McCoy and Foster inactive this week, MJD is 235 yards ahead of Frank Gore.

Coming in to the game I expected a heavy dose of MJD to give him a chance to set the franchise record of most rushing yards in a single season. He needs 136 yards to surpass Fred Taylor. On the opening drive, MJD has 4 rushes for 35 yards.

MJD stopped on reception just shortBethea with an incredible tackle to stop MJD in his tracks just short againMJD out wide fails to convert on 4th down.

The Colts hold on 4th and goal from the 1 yard line. Jags pitched it to MJD who couldn't outflank the defense and by the time he went straight ahead, he was too deep to bang it in.

Vinateri kicks a 47 yard field goal to get the Colts on the board. Jaguars continue to lead 7-3.

Jags defense holds on 4th and 1 at their own 27 yard line. Brown got stacked up but couldn't get that yard.

Not looking like the Browns will get Andrew Luck. Soooooo close to the first franchise QB the browns have had since Otto Graham about 50 years ago. But not to be.

Jaguars get a short field goal from Scobee to increase their lead to 10-3, just before the half.

Orlovsky is picked off by the Jags. The Jaguars play some desperation keep the ball alive on the interception because the time is running out on the half. After a couple of laterals, the Jaguar with the ball is tackled and he half ends with the Jaguars leading 10-3.

Through the first half, MJD has 16 rushes for 84 yards and is well on his way to setting the Jaguars franchise record for most rushing yards in a season. MJD needs another 52 yards.

The Colts take the opening drive of the second half down to the Jags 3 yard line and then kick a 20 yard field goal, Jaguars continue to lead 10-6.

It didn't take long, MJD just busted a 56 yard run to set the single season franchise record for most rushing yards! Congrats to MJD!

Following the interception, the Jags couldn't move the ball so Scobee kicks a 47 yard field goal. The Jaguars increase their lead to 16-6.

On 3rd and 3 in Jags territory, Orlovsky is sacked and fumbles the ball. Jaguars recover the ball on the 50 yard line.

The Jags manage to move the ball to line up Scobee for a 39 yard field goal, his 4th of the game. The Jaguars now lead by a score of 19-6.

Orlovsky to Collie for 12 yards brings the game back to a one score difference. Jaguars lead 19-13 with a little more than 3 minutes left. The Jags defense went super soft on this drive.

Oh boy. You know, this is how it always is with Cleveland. We get teased. Its like "ok, the Colts have clearly lost... forget getting Luck." And suddenly the Colts are in the red zone...

After running for a couple of first downs and the Colts using all of their timeouts, the Jags are in victory formation. The final score is 19-13 for the Jaguars. The Colts end up with the first overall draft pick. The Jaguars end the season on a high note, end the season 5-11, and MJD wins the NFL rushing title and sets the franchise single season rushing record.
