Game Thread W5 - New Orleans V Green Bay (1 Viewer)

This should be Jim Haslett's last game as Saints head coach, and Brooks' last as the Saints' starting QB.

This is Haslett's sixth year ... his team with his handpicked players shouldn't be packing it in after being down 21-3. Where's the heart, besides from Deuce, Conwell, and a hobbled Joe Horn?

After this game, call it a season, sack Haslett, and let Rick Venturi take on the interim HC job for the third time in his career. Give Brooks the "Keyshawn" treatment -- make him inactive for all the rest of the games. If Kliff Kingsbury is out there, bring him back in to play 3rd QB behind Bouman and McPherson.

Shoot for a 50% roster turnover next year, with <10 2005 players on the Saints 2007 roster. These guys just don't have it, and they never will.

Keep hoping, and your Owner has been known to be a jerk before, but I think Hasslet gets a mulligan this year.I don't know of any coach that would be able to deal with what the Saints are dealing with this year and have them at .500.

Sure, they sucked today and Brooks should Not be a starting QB any more, but I'd say it's less than 25% that Hasslet is fired this year or after.

Statorama, think back to the 2003 season ... when the Colts annihilated the Saints on Sunday night football. Remember that game?At the time, I was all about firing Haslett and sitting Brooks. Then after a few days, I figured "hey -- that's just one bad game". But looking back on that gutless performance ... and many others (Cincy 2002, Minnesota 2004 :X ), it really seems like that 2003 Colts massacre was a sign of things to come.

I remember those games very well. This group of Saints players is very consistent. When things are going well, they are awesome. When things go even a little bad, they get crushed. No "in-between" with this team.

Not so much about Ws and Ls as it is about showing up.

EXACTLYI'd trade a team that gave it their all and went 4-12 for a lackluster 8-8 team anyday.

I can't believe Stallworth didn't catch a single ball today. Absolutely unbelievable. I don't think he caught one against Minnesota either. He really can't have two productive weeks in a row--I think things like that are usually garbage but it's actually true. I feel furious and sickened.

Saddest part about that interception by Barnett was the obvious quitting that was done by the Saints players attempting to "tackle" him. Man, no heart.

Can anyone guess the last time an nfl team scored 52 points?
The Colts put up 50+ on the Saints in 2003. Didn't they do the same to the Lions last Thanksgiving?
Just checked:-- Colts beat the Saints in 2003 55-21.

-- Colts put up 51 on Tennesse last year, not Detroit.

I forgot about that game and I was there. Sunday night and Bouman also came in to play at the end. :X

and I'm sure you do nothing to deserve it.
wow, I must have really done something in the past to tick you off. Every post you've made in this thread has been leveled my way.Guess my Saints getting beat wasn't good enough for you.

I live in Wisc. Easiest way to rebut them, since they LOVE to rub in their Super Bowl Victory's.

Remind them who knocked them out of the playoffs last year. :P :P :pokey: :stirspot: ;)

and then the easy comeback to a Viking fan is asking them how many Super Bowls they have lost. :lmao:

We only rub in Super Bowl victories to fans of teams that have gone 0-4 in Super Bowls. They usually spout off something toolish and the Super Bowl comment shuts em up very quickly.

and you think your original comment about what team knocked the Packers out of the playoffs is something that bothers Packer fans?

Just kind of curious about this game in a general "wtf" kinda way. I saw the defensive scores, but even so it was way lopsided...but stats don't seem to dazzle in any particular way. Was GB that good? Aints that pathetic? Both? Just a mix of all the above? What?
