Game Thread W8 - New England at Minnesota (1 Viewer)

Who is Tom Brady? I'm from Cleveland and watch plenty of TV, never seen this guy on a commercial or nothing.

Did Theismann just say the Vikings have not gone deep and thrown a ball past 15 yards? He must have missed that bomb in the endzone to Bethel Johnson.

I love New England...they know they can't run against the stout defense of Minnesota so they don't even pretend to play that game and just go straight out and throw the ball. Bellicheck is like maybe the best coach ever...ever!

I kinda mentioned this earlier - not only does passing the ball avoid having to run against Minnesota's D, but it gives you the opportunity to go up quickly and take Minnesota out of their running game of getting Taylor 25+ and thereby putting the game on Johnson's shoulders (which is not working out so far).

The Vikings need not to get in a game of who can pass more with the Pats. The Vikings bread and butter is the running game. They need to get Taylor the ball then put in a play action here and there. The Pats have gotten the Vikings out of their game with that spread offense earlier. The Vikings think they are a passing team too. Not good.

The Vikings are taking themselves out of this game, the Patriots are obviously in their head.

Mid 2nd quarter, they are only down 10, they should easily be trying to establish Taylor and slow this game down...which they aren't, and as a Pats fan, I like it. :D

Agree. If the vikes can manage to put ANY points on the board without letting the Pats score anymore before half, you GOTTA go back to pound and ground.

My God does Brady throw the best ball in the league...can you imagine if he ever actually had a topflight WR to chuck it to? Who has he really had that was all world at WR?

Marino had Clayton and Duper

Montana had Rice

Aikman had Irvin

Brady has??? don't start with the Branch crap either...none of the WR on the Pats roster "currently" are sought after throughout the league.

So looking at the Patriots' schedule, who are they gonna lose to the rest of the way?
Exactly BGP, I brought this up a few weeks ago. They have a soft schedule and could make a run at 13-3, Indy's defense will lose them a few games along the way...they might lock up homefield thru the playoffs.New England...January...Playoffs...who is going to march into NE and beat them? Chicago/Dallas/NYGiants vs New England...take your pick.

Interesting audible by Brady running straight up the guy on second and long. Is he trying to straighen up a kick for Gostkowski? Trying to knock some time off the clock?

TD Watson to make it moot.

Nov 5 Indianapolis 8:15pm...nice showdown

Nov 12 N.Y. Jets 1:00pm...win

Nov 19 @Green Bay 1:00pm...win

Nov 26 Chicago 1:00pm...showdown

Dec 3 Detroit 1:00pm...win

Dec 10 @Miami 1:00pm...win

Dec 17 Houston 1:00pm...win

Dec 24 @Jacksonville 1:00pm...who wants it more?

Dec 31 @Tennessee 1:00pm...win

With the exception of that one ill advised INT forcing the ball to Watson, Brady has been near perfect tonight. Most of his incompletions have come on drops. He looks amazing.

 Not at Foxborough they ain't.

Is Dillon hurt? Usually he gets 50% of the carries.
Game plan. The Pats don't seem likely to test the two big interior lineman of the Vikes, especially when they can carve them up through the air and gash them with Maroney as a change up.Hell of a game plan by Belichick Inc.

They've done it many times before, they can do it again. Shannahan loves to coach against the Pats and Belichick.
