Game Thread W8: Washington @ NYG (2 Viewers)

Betts bobbled the kickoff. Can't believe the refs just stood there.
Cmon dude. The Giants would be winning this game without referee help. But its clear to me that the refs are favoring the Giants so far. Crystal clear.

Portis drops a pass, takes two steps, then the Giants defender comes up and hits him with hands to the face.....no call of course.Edited to add: Very next play results in a TO

Seriously.First you have that bogus leverage call.

Then you have 3 or 4 Giants late hits that could've been called or could've not been called, but every single one has gone without a flag, while the Skins get a penalty for a late hit on Taylor that was also questionable.

Edited to add: And its clear that Tiki Barber has greased up his uniform, yet nothing has been called on him.

Cooley hurt
didn't look good either... neck injury
They reported left leg - anyone have an "in-game" update now that most second halves have started?I have Cooley talk coming at me from a TE-less friend, and his injury status will severly impact those negotiations.

Why do the Giants hand the ball off to Jacobs? 1 yd average and a pile of dust? Dude fumbles and has been proving he isn't a very good short yardage back, killing Tiki's productivity. Obvious Tiki owner here, but Tiki should have a TD by now on principle alone.

its a hip injury
Thanks - any in-game update on how bad it looks initially - was his return ruled out/doubtful or was his return ruled "questionable."

Hopefully, being up 19-0, we see a lot more Tiki in the 2nd half (and less Brandon).I'm not sure if there were any blatant bad calls, but really - Brunell and the Redskins are playing horribly.

They haven't said a word AFAIK. They showed a shot of him being carted to the locker room and haven't said anything since.

tx - the injury thread is useless for info right now.

i'm just glad that the redskins fans will finally realize that their team is nowhere near as good as their record indicates.

It looked really bad when it happened. His lower leg got caught under his body and he was sandwiched between two defenders. Cooley was in obvious pain right away. I'd assume the worst right now.

Shockey, anyone? Is he playing today?
:goodposting: Surely one of you can spare a quick "Yes" or "no"?
Yes. The one pass they threw to him - a 20 yd attempt down the middle at the goalline in the 1st Quarter - was nearly picked off by Sean Taylor. They haven't targeted him since. The 'Skins have actually done a good job containing the Giants passing game. It's the long runs that are killing them.

And I suppose the Giants are every bit as good as their record, right Giants fan? :excited:

Tx - real bummer for me as I was likely to swap him straight up for D. Foster.

I guarantee this comment will be seriously used by a Redskin fan this week:"The Redskins would have won this game if Wellington Mara hadn't died"
