Game Thread - Wildcard- Jacksonville V New England (1 Viewer)

Happy to see the Patriots look good against a playoff team, especially without Bruschi. This should put to rest some of the questions about who they've played since they've gotten healthy, although I'm sure the haters will still find something to say.

I'm rooting HARD for the Steelers tomorrow.  That is all I'm going to say.  :wall:
Finally a Colts fan who accepts reality. :pics:
Your words are directed at the wrong person. DJ Colts is the most grounded Colts fan that I have encountered.
Not sure why I wasn't clear. My whole point was that DJ Colts comment was grounded in reality, I think my comment was misinterpreted, I wasn't bashing DJ, more like giving him props.

Be careful what you wish for...
Anyone with a brain would rather take on the enemic Steelers than the Patriots. :hey:
This wasn't an impressive performance by the Patriots, and their win streak to close the year has been really overblown. If you think the Steelers are anemic, well, that's fine.

OK - no harm done.

I wonder where Chase Stuart is right now, and what he thinks.

I think the Patriots are giving up an average of like 5 points in the last 6 games, yeah, very unimpressive.

That's what I'm saying. These homers are cracking me up. If I was a Pats fan I would be pretty worried.

On the Patriots vs. Colts it will suck to lose because all the Colts fans will rub it in, but the one light in all that is a classy guy like DJColts will be able to enjoy the win.

Our level of "worry" should be, we are just as good as the team we are facing, so anything can happen. But Zilla, the Pats have ALWAYS seemed to have found a way with Brady and Belichick. It is hard to get worried when they always seem to find a way.

Hey Jzippa....good thing Watson got ####ing lucky there, huh?

Colts will crumble vs. the Pats if they even face them next week.  Get a clue doood.
We'll just have to see huh?The Jags are playing like a bunch of scared little girls, just like I expected them to. Don't get too confident based on this game. Actually, go ahead and get confident, so I can laugh at you later.
And the Jags played like scared little girls against the Colts earlier this year? Pulleeeez.

Well, wins over the Jets twice, Bills, and Bucs with a loss to the Dolphins doesn't impress me TOO much. The only reason it's being talked about is because they were playing poorly earlier in the season. They're definitely playing better now than they were before, but I'll be shocked if they win in Denver OR Indy next week.Leftwich shouldn't have been starting today. Garrard's mobility alone would've given the Jags a much better chance.

Eh, it's all gravy to me. Did you see how they looked the first half of this season? And just about every other week? 3 titles out of 4, made the playoffs this year and they'll make it to the second week of the PO for sure.

Brady just did a quick snap to catch Jacksonville with too many men on the field. Reminded me of when P. Manning did that and this board was filled with Patriot whiners complaining about it.
Wierd how this got no response.

You sure do like to hark back to the past little buddy. I'm talking about today. And next week. Stay on topic.

Versus the Broncos, Seahawks, and Colts (x2), this was the biggest ####-whooping the Jags have had all year. I thought the Jags had the capability to win this game and that the Pats were not very strong this year. Obviously, I was wrong, and have to believe that the Pats are a legit threat to win it all again.

Willie McGinest: 6 tackles, 2 assists, 4.5 sacks
Hey I was hoping someone noticed. Can you identify the problem with the Jag's O-line in the game? Our Right Tackle Mo Williams obviously was the weak link but the Right Guard Chris Naeole has been oft injured this season. Anyone care to shed some light on this? I have a feeling this will be adressed in the offseason. I have been vouching for a selection of Max Jean Giles with the Jags #1 pick.

It's gonna suck when I'm 30, the Pats are 2-14 with Norv Turner's kid being our head coach, and I've been spoiled by one of the best runs in NFL history. At the same time, it rocks. It means a lot more when you have memories of those moments. WHAT A RUN!

I think the Giles would be a great selection, but Naole doesn't seem to be a problem. Manuwai seemed to regress though.

keep :banned: it's our time of year. We DID just whoop a 12-4 team pretty soundly

Week 1: Jaguars 26, Seahawks 14Week 2: Colts 10, Jaguars 3

Week 4: Broncos 20, Jaguars 7

Week 5: Jaguars 23, Bengals 20

Week 6: Jaguars 23, Steelers 17 (overtime)

Week 14: Colts 26, Jaguars 18

Wild Card: Patriots 28, Jaguars 3

The Jaguars had a soft schedule to end the season. But, they played half a dozen games against the best in the NFL and had a 3-3 record.

The Patriots scored more against the Jaguars than any other team while giving up the fewest. Some posters are saying the Patriots didn't look that great. But, I think Pats fans should be optimistic about how this game went.

Even if the Pats don't win it all this year(which I will not discount), this is the type of run that most sportsfans can only dream about.

I don't care if they were 16-0, they played scared and the Patriots took advantage of it.The Colts won't play scared. Not his year. Neither will the Broncos for that matter. Though admittedly I'd take the Pats over the Broncos, based on the Plummer Factor.

what's that got to do with them worrying? If any coach has owned Manning it's BB. You chose the Pats over the Broncos so...???

So... what?Have you watched the Colts play this year? I mean before they decided to ride it out the last few weeks? I assume you haven't. I don't care about last year. Or the year before. The Pats were the better team then. This year they are decidedly NOT.

It looked like the same Jags team to me that needed overtime to beat the Steelers on a day that Roethlisberger and Ward sat out and Maddox turned the ball over 4 times.

Different Colts team this year. Don't get too excited to play them Pats fans. We would prefer a Steeler upset, but you gotta face who you get. Denver is a great team too, so who knows. Play ball I guess.

Are you saying that you are still stuck on the fact that the Steelers lack proper depth?

No, I'm saying most teams would struggle with their 3rd string QB and star WR out. Yet they STILL managed to take a team that finished 12-4 to overtime.Their depth is just fine.

If you say the Pats didnt look good yet still beat the Jags 28-3, I take that as a positive for Pats fans. They have not played their best game yet.I see a number of posters discounting the Pats late season wins because they were against less than top notch competition. Its not just that the Pats beat these teams, they KILLED them. They beat TB 28-0. They beat the Bills 35-7 (same Bills who crushed the Bengals and beat the Chiefs). They beat the Jets 31-21 in a game where the Jets didnt get their 1st 1st down until mid 3rd quarter. The Patriots have dominated. I want Indy. Go Cincy and bring on the Colts.

At the time, Maddox was. Charlie Batch was their 2nd best QB, and he looked much, much better than Maddox this year. Batch is a solid backup QB, and he led them to a win over the Browns in his only start.

And Indy wants you! I cannot wait to watch this game unfold! I wonder if Peyton will be any better than a 1-legged Lefty?Or will Edge be better than Fragile Fred.

And, I wonder how many Pats fans will be in the dome?
