Um, haven't you spent months crying that the Steelers would have beaten the Jags and Ravens if Roethlisberger hadn't gotten hurt? And now you are ripping another fanbase for #####ing in a game thread (where emotions are going to be high and you say, or in this case, type things in the heat of the moment)? :potkettle:

Who the hell was crying about it? I simply said, and will say again, that the Steelers likely wouldn't have lost those two games if Roethlisberger hadn't gotten hurt. These things happen - I never whined about it. I said the Steelers would win out anyway and make the playoffs and they did. What I have NEVER done is sit in game threads (or do the same in person for that matter) and complain about every single call that gets made, make constant personal attacks about the opponent's players and coach, and claim that a perfectly clean play as executed by a respected, veteran player is a cheap shot.People are complaining about the pass-interference call that gave the Steelers the ball at the 5 without once acknowledging that the play would have been a TD if not for the penalty, El caught the ball and was stripped while on his back. Complaining that Roethlisberger didn't get called for grounding on a pass which almost hit an eligible receiver while Kitna threw a ball away under duress two possessions earlier when there wasn't a receiver in the same area code as the ball. Complaining that the Palmer injury was caused on a cheap play, which it clearly wasn't. All that happens when you complain incessantly like that is you come off looking like a baby. Go back and check my posts after Pittsburgh's playoff loss last year, or the game threads, and see if there's a single post where I complain or whine about officiating, cheap plays, etc..etc...

I'll go ahead and delete the kettle for you in this reply.

Okay then, what do you say to those who say the Bengals would have won yesterday if Palmer hadn't gotten hurt?

Well, I cannot speak for those people. I didn't post in this game thread until the game was long over. However, like I said before, game threads are going to get people's immediate reactions to plays/scores/etc. and those reactions are not always going to be the best. Once many have had time to digest the win or loss, their thoughts will likely be more concise and less reactionary. Wouldn't you agree?

Good for you. You are able to hold your emotions in check in the midst of the game. Not everyone can do that. Remember that. Heck, usually if I post in a game thread, it is a game I have little rooting interest in. I almost never post in a Denver game thread while the game is actually going on.

I said in another thread that if Bengals fans want to contend that they'd have won the game had Palmer not gone down, I can certainly abide that, provided they are not calling the play a cheap shot, which it clearly wasn't.I also have no problem with people who have difficulty keeping their emotions in check. What drives me nuts are those who feel every play of every game is part of a larger conspiracy to deprive their team of a chance to win. Surely, you've encountered these folks at a sports bar (there are plenty of embarassing Steeler fans who do this too) - every single call that goes against your team is a bad call, every injury to one of your players was on a cheap hit, every play is a new excuse as to why the team didn't win. It's annoying. Reading this thread, there were a handful of posters who were doing exactly that. Personally, it bothers me a little when people attempt to cheapen what was a hard-fought and important victory by my team by insinuating that the aforementioned victory was a product of nothing but dirty play and ref bias. That would annoy you too (and likely has in the past), if someone were to make such contentions about the Broncos. It's to those posters that my above comments were aimed. Why you feel the need to take up for them eludes me.

Actually, it doesn't - it was just an opportunity to strike up another argument with me. I get that. :pokey:

:hifive:

Funniest and most apt post I have seen in a looong time.Earth to moron Bungle fans...YOUR OWN QB SAID IT WAS A CLEAN HIT....MOVE ON!!

Would you have won IF Palmer didn't get hurt? WHO KNOWS! Get over it. If you want to believe you would have won and it makes you feel better, then more power to you.

I am sure you're frustrated Bungle fans, we've all been there and I sympathize...but it's some of you are really embarrassing yourselves.

You're like the bald guy that wears the snickers bars on his head...He's bald and Your team LOST.

What I like best is that alot of Cinci fans are complaining of the late hit but Palmer says it himself that a SPLIT SECOND after releasing the ball, he felt a pop.

I thought Kimo's reaction after the injury was pretty cool. He was obviously unhappy that Palmer was hurt. I don't think Kimo was faking his reaction.

Amazing the two directions these teams have gone since the kick-off of this game 9 days ago.

I don't think things have changed much. One team still resides in a crappy town on the Ohio River, and the other team is still in Cincinnati. And I'll say another thing. Outside of this post (and the remark above is strictly tongue-in-cheek, I think the city of Pittsburgh is a fine place), the only people posting in this thread any longer are Steeler fans, complaining about how the Cincy fans were complaining.

Give us a break. We waited 15 years for that day, and it was ruined in a horrific manner. Not only was the game ruined, but a good part of our next season was thrown into uncertainty also. Emotions ran high, things were said, tempers were heated. We were in shock.

Pittsburgh fans, on the other hand, continue to moan about the way Bengals fans reacted, and yet your group seem to be the ones that cannot yet let it go. Perhaps you feel cheated that your "victory" was questioned because of the circumstances under which it was achieved. Perhaps you feel guilty for having won the way you did. Maybe you feel a need to defend your team. Whatever it is, if Steeler fans stop talking about it so much, then 75% of what is being said about the Bengals - Steelers game will dry up. Your complaints about the complaining are the fuel feeding this fire.
