The Chicago Tribune reports:

"In the third round the Bears pulled a surprise by taking Northern Illinois RB Garrett Wolfe with the first of back-to-back selections. Wolfe was a superproductive college player but doesn't appear to have the size to survive in the NFL as an every-down player. Greg Gabriel, the Bears' director of college scouting, compared him to former Giant Dave Meggett, but offensive coordinator Ron Turner thought of another name. 'He reminds me of Warrick Dunn more than anybody,' Turner said of the Atlanta Falcons star who was drafted by Tampa Bay back when Jerry Angelo was their draft guru. 'He has the same kind of burst, the same kind of quickness and acceleration to get through the hole.' Turner added that Wolfe could come in for "12 plays" to spell Cedric Benson.
OK, so here is your rotation - Ced will likely get the ball 2 drives to Wolfe's 1 drive. The Bears are installing some shotgun formations, which would seem to favor Wolfe's skill set. Here is the question - does he survive, thrive or get broken by game 16?

If he gets 35% of the carries, he will be broken by week 4. This isn't a MJD type (tree-trunks for legs), although he has the same burst. I think the Bears will force teams to pick their poison on kickoffs and punts. That will be his main role, imo.

He has talent... he will do very well in a limited/support role. He ended 2006 as nation's No. 1 returning major-college rusher (175.6 yards-per-game average), National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1-A's No. 1 returning all-purpose yardage performer (200.2 ypg.), and the country's No. 1 active career 1-A rusher (161.8 ypg.). As the only offensive weapon on the team where defenses knew he was getting the ball, he held up well. I think he surprises folks this year... just a hunch.

he will most likely play a role somewhere, but I cant see him ever being a back they can lean on
 I think Wolfe has the ability to contribute but he won't be a go-to back in the NFL. Expect him to slot in as a Kevin FaulkTravis Minorkind of player. Helpful to a club but minimal fantasy value.

Probably will be a good third down back if he doesn't get overworked. Seems like a marginal prospect but he plays with a lot of heart.
