Genrepalooza Presents: FG Radio - Tons of Lithium but very little Chill (3 Viewers)

Sweet! You don't remember how to make these collaborative, do you? The Fleetwood Mac one doesn't have those little people on the side even though I'm trying to make it that way.
I was looking at it, and it seems different. Hit "invite collaboraters" and see what happens.

Yeah, I hit that. It just copies the playlist link to your computer's clipboard. Oh well. We'll figure it out somehow. I think we might be able to add stuff anyway. But I am uncertain about that.

There are three dots next to the "add songs" button and then you'll get a drop down where you can make it collaborative.

It used to be you could right click the playlist name, and then there was an option to click on the menu "Make Collaborative."  That isn't there anymore.  On the three dots it only gives you "Invite Collaborators" now. At least on my desktop. If you click that it says it is copied to clipboard. My Spotify always stalls and acts up. It seems rock isn't getting the Make Collaborative option either.

Ok I read some more and you can still collaborate for more than 24 hours. The link is only active for 24 hours but it seems like once you accept it and join the playlist you can edit it beyond that time window. The window is only for the link. Also owners have the ability to remove an editor if they are screwing up the playlist. Or so it says based on my reading.

Cool. I'll try and keep up with it. in the meantime, pick a song, man!

Good luck with the new gig. What's it entail?
I'm the head of sales for the good local brewery now. I still have a territory I cover but it's a lot smaller and we have a lot more licensee customers.

I'm also overseeing the taproom, online, and our inside sales and third party agency.

So, more responsibility and I'm working more hours but because it's way more local focussed I'm driving a lot less and it balances out (work til 5 but I'm already in town at the end of the day rather than work til 3:30 and have to drive an hour and a half to get home).

Awesome, glad you found something local and I imagine you are really comfortable in the brewery/beer world.

450. Lindsey Buckingham - In Our Own Time  (Fleetwood Mac)

I like Buckingham's late career solo stuff better than his 80s and 90s material.  It seems like he was straining to differentiate his music from the band's records.  His production work was as bright and shiny as a rail on a mirror.

He seems to have grown more comfortable in his own skin as he's gotten older.  The music still has plenty or weird flourishes but that's why I like him so much.

This track from 2011 is all Lindsey with lots of frantic picking and overdubs.

I don't know what the hell is going on but I'm back in if you'll have me and also explain what the hell is going on.

Saw PUP tonight. They at some point morphed into the punk Hold Steady. I'm obviously not complaining.

There is so much joy!! @JZilla? @Steve Tasker? @The Dreaded Marco?

I have few true friends in the FFA but miss those above. Also @Eephus @El Floppo @rockaction but I feel they're still around.

and now I'm worried about who I've left out and potentially offended. :sadbanana:
Thanks for the @ NV. I feel similarly.

Having not been involved initially, starting in on this behemoth is a bit daunting. I'm definitely up for a new music draft in the near future though.

What's up with the one round per roll pace?
Just wanted to keep this light for people that are casually checking in. The categories are tighter in scope which gives more options.

Dunno. I was really trying to emulate what we were doing for the most part. Just making it really easy.

I think it’s that we did two picks a day based on the rolls in the past.

Round 552! (June 3, 2022)

Dice Roll 383, 415, 289, 327

Categories:

Working For A Living (songs with a profession)

Short Skirt, Long Jacket (songs about clothes or style)

Strings N' Things (songs with strings in them). (last chance!)

Songs To Play At The End Of The World (apocalyptic songs)

Been thinking about it. Perhaps Eephus raises a good point. From now on, one dice roll lasts two rounds. The only difference between now and before is that it'll be two days and not two-a-day. Therefore, tonight's dice roll will be for Friday and Saturday. Which leads me to the next question. How did we treat weekends?

Therefore, this will be Rounds 552 and 553, one Friday, one Saturday.

I grew up listening to Ray, and this song is one of my favorites that fits the theme. It was written by Buck Owens. I've seen it spelled Cryin' Time and Crying Time. It is Crying Time on Spotify.

Round 552

Crying Time - Ray Charles    (Strings N' Things)

n52.  Paul Simon - Can't Run But (In the Blue Light Version)  (Strings & Things)

Simon's most recent album was 2018's In the Blue Light where he re-imagined a bunch of old songs.

The original "Can't Run But" from The Rhythm of the Saints was heavily flavored by African percussion but this new arrangement reaches a similar momentum with modern chamber orchestra yMusic and no percussion whatsoever.
