Getcha passports ready - the middle-aged dummies are going to the British Isles! Top 31 song countdown. (7 Viewers)

No offense to @Pip's Invitation but at least the collection of the worst fanbase on this board will have something to whine about today, and that seems to be what they do best.

That thread seems to thrive In chaos, infighting and railing against anyone that doesn’t root for the Eagles that ventures into that thread. It’s a true collection of mental patients. You have the racist and delusional guy, the anti-vaxxer moron, the complete and utter temper tantrum throwing child, the internet “tough guys”, the whiners…..it’s nice to know they’ll be occupied today.

I don't go into that thread to know the cast of characters mentioned, but can probably figure it out.

I realize after many listens to my playlist of the songs I took for this, my #3 should have been my #1 based on my reaction to it, and how progressed to starting the mix on that song when I listened and then shuffled after that. OH stole my thunder!! Not sure anybody else did, though.

I wrote this down immediately after my US countdown derp forgetting about The Airborne Toxic Event's Sometime Around Midnight. I listened to the hell out of these two songs soon after each came out for very topical reasons. I slept around a lot during this phase of my life, most of which have been long forgotten about, but there was that one. I've talked with my wife about her before...the you that I met before I met you. Only difference was the head space I was in - and because of her I was emotionally ready for you. Cause there isn't any way you were marrying that guy. Tracks like these 2 helped immensely evolving through that part of my life...

There are too many toxic Eagles fans in the SP (I've had racist/delusional guy on ignore for a while) -- but also too many toxic Eagles haters there (some of who go into the team thread only to troll -- RA is not usually in that category despite my disagreeing with his conduct there this week). Which means the SP is going to be unreadable for a few months and I probably won't return there until NFL draft time.

My 0.2 on Philly fans....

Philly seems like a tough town. Philly fans are hard-nosed, and pessimistic. They take their sports seriously. They are understandably upset, so I'll give em a bit of a pass......unless they blame that holding call. That was a hold, albeit a very slight one. If he doesn't slow down the receiver he probly scores an easy TD.....bottomline to me in that game, KC made the adjustments at half and kicked *** in the 2nd half.

This is exactly what happened. As I said when the postgame discussion started, I'm not sure how much the penalty mattered because we hadn't stopped them for the entire second half.

I don't think I should have brought my dislike of the Eagles into this thread. Bad vibes all around. Mea culpa and my apologies on that aspect of being on the boards yesterday.

It's 7:30 A.M. here and I'm waiting on the day's selections so I can change (or not change!) my old/new avatar here. Can't wait to see if I've doubled up with someone on my selection (odds are good that I did, though we'll see).

How do you comfort an English Teacher?

"There, They're, Their".

I found it interesting that DrIanMalcolm picked In the Light for Zeppelin, as he is not big into prog and this is one of Zep's proggiest songs. It's also very different from the kind of sounds he's preferred from the Beatles and Stones.

Hawks is being called away on a top-secret mission tomorrow and Wednesday. He did do the playlists, but won't be around to switch them from private to public each day, so it won't really work. Is there anyone who could do the playlists those days? @KarmaPolice ?

Another great round. Happy to see diversity in the Pink Floyd selections. I think Sheep is their 11th different song selected. I love Animals.

Here's where today's 8 Beatles songs went for me in last year's Beatles countdown:

Pip’s Invitation:

Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles
(new song)

#1. It really rotates with While My Guitar Gently Weeps, but I gave it the nod both then and now because I figured WMGGW would be more popular (which it was). What I said there:

"The word "revolutionary" is overused, but not in the case of this song. Not only did it bear no resemblance to anything you'd hear on the radio in 1966, it bore no resemblance to ANYTHING IN WESTERN MUSIC at the time. That they went from "She Loves You" to this in less than 3 years is one of the most unfathomable developments in music history.

I can't begin to describe how the track was created, so I'll leave that to the writeups above. What I can say is that it has crazy sounds that I am still discovering with each new listen, and that, unlike with Revolution 9, they mesh together into a memorable tune. The whole thing is trance-like and dynamic at the same time, an extremely hard thing to pull off. And the drum sound and performance is one of my favorites on any song ever."

#5. Basically everything I said about Tomorrow Never Knows applies to this too.

Are we making plans?
So I typed this out on my tablet.

A half hour later I got into my car where my phone started playing the alluded to song on Spotify.

I have to write this off as coincidence because if it's not, I'd be extremely creeped out.
Siri/Alexa/Cortana/etc know EVERYTHING.

It's all right there in the agreed to terms and conditions.

So who owns Heroes?

:tapsfoot:
Whoever explains first why they like it. Go!
I like it because it's my favorite Bowie song.

Also that it's about secret cold war love - my favorite kind.

Happy Valentines Day:
