From Jerry mac's blog:Assuming Tom Cable wants to see players practice by Friday to be available on game day, the Raiders will be without running back Darren McFadden, defensive end Derrick Burgess and strong side linebacker Ricky Brown when they face the Atlanta Falcons Sunday.I wouldn't worry yet. Friday's practice is usually the tell all for players availability for weekend games. Players who are dinged up a bit typically sit out practices during middle of the week. Especially proven players. If he doesn't practice Friday, I would find another option. Personally I think he will play.
I gave the second paragraph, too, even though it was not about Gibril because Baller was concerned regarding whether or not they'd say if it was turf toe. Don't know, but they did mention it for Darren McFadden, so maybe they would have.Meanwhile, the following publications all said Wilson was hurt but would play:Sacramento Bee (interesting quote: "Safety Gibril Wilson was moving good after practice while working on a tackling angles against practice squad running back Louis Rankin. He'd missed two practices because of a toe injury but looks ready to go.")San Francisco ChronicleSan Jose Mercury NewsMind you, they might all have received their reports from the same source (but that Sacramento Bee report was from a Raiders Blog mantained by Bee staffer Jason Jones).CBS Sportsline says this:Branch avoided pulling double duty against the Falcons when strong safety Gibril Wilson returned to practice. Wilson had missed the past two workouts with a toe injury but was able to work out with the rest of the team Friday. The news isn’t as encouraging for Oakland’s other injured players. Running back Darren McFadden (turf toe), defensive end Derrick Burgess (triceps), linebacker Ricky Brown (groin) and special team player Jon Alston (foot) did not practice and are listed as doubtful against the Falcons.
RotoWorld says:Wilson has been nicked up at times in 2008, but hasn't missed a game. He has 66 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two pass defelctions and one interception in his first season with Oakland. He even has a safety. Wilson remains one of the top safeties in the NFL and a must-start Fantasy DB.
After all that, am I starting my fellow alumnus from the U of Tennessee? Dunno. I really hate to see a zero pop up in that spot. I may play it safe since I also have Ndukwe, Rhodes, and Mikell. Whatever you decide, I hope the above is helpful to you!Raiders SS Gibril Wilson (toe) missed some practice time this week, but is expected to be available on Sunday.Wilson has helped Oakland's run defense in the back end, recording 61 tackles (45 solo), a pick, and a forced fumble through seven games. He is leading the team in stops, which doesn't say much for the club's front seven.
I agree...He is starting this week for me over Milloy and Ndukwe. I would only have second thoughts if he was a game time decision.hes been a top 3 DB, if not #1... hard to bench a guy on pace to surpass 90 solos. If hes playing u got to play him.
In my tackle heavy league, he ranks 3rd as a LB. So far he's IDP MVPPer Rotoworld:
Raiders S Gibril Wilson (groin) returned to practice Thursday.
Wilson is expected to play Sunday against Carolina, but the defense will be without linebacker Ricky Brown (groin) and pass rusher Derrick Burgess (triceps) once again. It's a great matchup for DeAngelo Williams.
Gibril is the leading scoring DB in my league... I wouldn't fret too much over early week skipped practices for bumps and bruises. Happens all the time, especially with veteran players.
Maybe you should let him actually miss a game before you start comparing him to Westbrook?
Injury report says he missed as did a local columnist or two. I will see if i can dig up links for the latter.wait...he missed friday??I thought he went friday.blurb edit:Fri, Nov 7 Oakland Raiders SS Gibril Wilson (groin) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 7. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 10 game but is expected to play.(KFFL)

The correct information is on the official NFL injury report as well.Could go either way here unfortunately. Best local sources don't have any specific information on him. Tom Cable, when talking about JaMarcus Russell, said players that don't practice Friday often don't play on Sunday.Injury report
– Defensive end Derrick Burgess (triceps) and Ricky Brown (groin) were listed as doubtful, while running back Darren McFadden (toe), tight end Tony Stewart (calf) and strong safety Gibril Wilson (groin) were questionable. None practiced Friday.

You'd think we'd have heard about a setback since he practiced fully on Thursday, but most of the stories are focused on Russell.
how many tackles did he have?Running back Darren McFadden (toe) and safety Gibril Wilson(back) were also limited but are expected to play, with Wilson starting at strong safety.
As was noted by J Giles Band... Last week Wilson was listed as questionable and didn't practice on Friday, but started.
He did not have a productive game... that’s for sure, but that was more likely do to the meager 37 tackle ops (average 54) Oakland had.how many tackles did he have?Running back Darren McFadden (toe) and safety Gibril Wilson(back) were also limited but are expected to play, with Wilson starting at strong safety.
