...and the ninety year old ladies. You do know that in Florida a concealed weapon arrest is essentially a speeding ticket, right? This ain't NYC folks. Ten year olds are packing down there.I don't think that Coffee's religious convictions are tainted by the arrest. I guess you and Mike Florio think differently. Are you serious ???
This guy QUIT professional football using the "I found Christ....bla....bla...bla....." excuse and now he got arrested for for possession of a concealed firearm.
So, what are we supposed to say to him ?? Keep up the good work ?
Happiness is a Warm GunGlen Coffee, the 23-year-old former 49er running back who retired suddenly this offseason, was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm. The charge is a 3rd degree felony.
Police in Fort Walton Beach, Fla -- where Coffee went to high school -- stopped Coffee early Friday morning for speeding before noticing the car had no insurance or registration. Before having the car towed, cops did a search and found a "black 380 SIG Sauer automatic pistol."
According to the police report, "The pistol was recovered with the hammer 'cocked' to the rear. It was located in the center ... readily accessible to Coffee."
LinkArrest ReportHe told police he was self-employed as a motivational speaker. Jesus on a cross is tattoed on his right arm and "Faithful" is tattoed on his left arm. "Lions of Atlanta" is tattoed on his chest, the report noted.
I mean it's the only assailable religion in this country for that reason. The media will say things about Christianity that would get them fired before the end of their segment if it were about Islam, Judaism, or anything else.In case you haven't noticed the members of our media hate overt religious decisions, especially in connection to Christianity which isn't one of the "protected" religions.:X
....last time i checked the demographics, 80% of the good ole US of A was christian. What protection is needed that you speak of lol?

^I was just about to say the same. If you live the South chances are pretty high you're carrying. In a lot of cases it's stupid not to be.The problem is different states have different nuances of law, so you cross the border from one to another without thinking about it, get pulled over for speeding or whatever, and end up with gun charges.Non-story, IMO.
I know, man. It's tough being in the majority. You feel like like everyone else in the country is against you. Well, the other 20% at least.I mean it's the only assailable religion in this country for that reason. The media will say things about Christianity that would get them fired before the end of their segment if it were about Islam, Judaism, or anything else.
I'm not what most would call a Christian, I just think there is an obvious double standard in the press when it comes to religion. This has nothing to do with anything other than the press.I know, man. It's tough being in the majority. You feel like like everyone else in the country is against you. Xtian, I shed a tear for you. The universe is an unjust place, to cruelly oppress such an obnoxious majority as yours . . .In case you haven't noticed the members of our media hate overt religious decisions, especially in connection to Christianity which isn't one of the "protected" religions.
Not part of the majority. But I'd be willing to bet $100 you would never go out of your way to insult someone based on their participation in any other religion. Hypocrisy sucks no matter what form it takes.Xtian, I shed a tear for you. I think Ricky Williams has gotten plenty of crap about his religion. No hypocrisy there. Not part of the majority. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Sounds more like Mike Florio is just trying to stir up some crap.
What impact does this have on fantasy teams, or on any of the 32 NFL teams? In case you haven't noticed the members of our media hate overt religious decisions, especially in connection to Christianity which isn't one of the "protected" religions.
Hypothetically, if he were to come back, wouldn't SF still hold his rights?in before the "Team X will bring him in for a look" talk

No, he got crap about smoking weed and mountain climbing, not Buddhism and Yoga. I'm stating the blatantly obvious here. Not really much need for debate. Because Coffee declared he was doing something for Christ he got singled out and jumped on by the media as soon as an opportunity arose, The fact that charges were dropped proved that the initial charges were nothing and simply provided a member of the press an opportunity to take a shot at someone's professed dedication to Christianity. Wasn't the first and won't be the last.BTW, I am not opposed to people making fun of Christianity. I am opposed to people not making fun of every other religion with abandon.CalBear said:I think Ricky Williams has gotten plenty of crap about his religion. Then you aren't watching the right TV channels. Try Bill Maher's show on HBO. It sounds like you're only getting the Fox News angle where every tiny little anti-Christian story is blown way out of proportion and fed to the "home crowd" viewership as though to say "See? Those damn liberals are trying to take over our country."I am not opposed to people making fun of Christianity. I am opposed to people not making fun of every other religion with abandon.
'dropped, but your suggestion that I watch FoxNews is hilarious. I am on the opposite end of that spectrum. Then you aren't watching the right TV channels. Try Bill Maher's show on HBO. And let's either drop this useless thread or move it to the FFA.
Yes, they would. When Brett Favre 'retired' from the Packers, he later pressed them to release his rights. They did, and he promptly signed with the Jets.Hypothetically, if he were to come back, wouldn't SF still hold his rights?in before the "Team X will bring him in for a look" talk
Still retired. His gun charges were dropped, if it means anything.enough with all the nerds going on and on..whats up with Coffee? stick to the topic..
Not to nitpick but I believe Packers traded him to the Jets. When he left the Jets he pushed them for his release so he could join the Vikings. In fairness to you it's hard to keep up with the trials and tribulations of the drama queen.Yes, they would. When Brett Favre 'retired' from the Packers, he later pressed them to release his rights.
