nightmare.

but it's like the opposite of my meetings.

"can you do this"

"no- we can't"

"but what if you do it like this?"

"no- we can't do it like that"

"ummm- not like that, like this"

"can't do it like that"

"like this. not like that."

"ooooooh... like this. of course."

except stretch that conversation out over the course of a day or two.
and in a different/same vein...

my client sent an email last night asking about progress photos of her new kitchen island- an island we designed more than 9 months ago and have shown at every meeting in drawings, material samples and cool renderings as a cerused oak natural finish with teak butcher block counter (materials she helped pick out, or at least approve). her question- that's supposed to be painted white, right?

I usually reply "asked & answered" at the top of the email I'm resending when it came up two months ago.One of our clients is AMA (not that I mean this http://www.amanet.org/). They've offered discounted courses to our executives. My CEO stuck a brochure in my box for the "Client Relationship Buolding" seminar.

Flop my lunch meeting was cancelled....but there's a parade between us. Some other time.

HEY NAVY FLOAT! Hi guys!!

ETA: should probably take the course "how your thumbs are ruining your career"

Likely she doesn't understand what cerused is.

very well may be the case... even though we've showed her the exact material and explained it many times. this one isn't the sharpest tack on Park ave.

the real issue is that in spite of everything, she still thinks she's getting a painted island to match the rest of the cabinets and NOT the approved by her fancily designed and expensive stain-grade island that has already been fabricated.

I genuinely think she has no idea what she's looking at unless it's literally right in front of her. Drawings, I think, are meaningless to her- even 3d renderings apparently. her ability to process abstraction is bupkis. not to mention that she'll routinely not show up to meetings without a word other than a much belated "oops! sorry!". but yeah, she was born into immense wealth, so her behavior won't ever need to be challenged.

Can you build her one out of MDF and sell the fancy one to someone else?

You better call him back, Cheryl.

I think it's credit card.

Glad the house is going to be recoverable Cos. (he has a really cool place). Was the outdoor work area and TV ruined?
Does the TV really warrant concern?
Don't worry, Abe's going to run through the rest of Cos' housewares one by one in subsequent posts.
Thank god the gazebo is standing strong and the 70" tv is fine. I can't tell you nice it is to get out of my hell hole of a house, sit in the gazebo and watch tv. The creek view is gorgeous, but the mudhole that used to be my pool needs a lot of work.

Mt cell phone now sends all my voice mails to a text with a link that doesn't work. That's convenient.

You keep a 70inch TV outside?

I said it was awesome.

Did I read this correctly....is the Fallout 4 thread really asking for "NO SPOILERS"? This is a video game, right? Spoilers? WTF????
I think new video games are more like movies with a plot and stuff.
Is there nudity?
Yes.
Enough to, you know....crockpot some chicken? :oldunsure:
If you're into that sort of thing, sure.

I don't even know what that sort of thing is. Nudity? Hooray! But I have a feeling that's not what you mean.

:lmao: It's so awful looking and the "action" scenes are laughable. You should stick to skinamax.

The resident old fat #### in Sales sent our buy rate to a customer as a proposal.

He emailed to ask for pricing on something. Not sure why he didn't ask his manager who sits 15 feet away, has shared the price book with him, has shown about eight times where it is on DropBox cloud storage, but whatever. I was in meetings and not monitoring emails. Somebody in Operations was CCed and so they pulled up the last price sheet they had (superceded, new COGS is higher.) Sent it to resident fat #### with the caveat "These are old prices, you'll want to confirm with Finance. Also, this is our cost - I'm not sure what our markup is." Resident fat #### forwarded it to the prospect from his iPhone 20 seconds later.

What's the official stance on veteran's of the confederate army?

Do our remembrances include them?
Nope. They also never matriculated the Confederate veterans into the Federal Pension system.

The South being what it is, they did have state pensions for Confederates and their dependents.

They also had their own holiday, called Confederate Decoration Day, Confederate Memorial Day, Confederate Remembrance Day and Confederate Heroes Day, depending on where you live.

Sorry, did I say had? Still observed.

  • Alabama - Last Monday in April, state paid holiday, state offices are closed.
  • Florida April 26. When April 26 is a Sunday, it is recognized the following Monday.
  • Georgia Last Monday in April, state paid holiday, state offices are closed.
  • Kentucky June 3 - Jefferson Davis' birthday. Overlooks they were never in the CSA, but let's not be too picky.
  • Louisiana June 3 - Jefferson Davis' birthday.
  • Mississippi Last Monday in April, state paid holiday, state offices may be closed, at the discretion of the state agency or department heads.
  • North Carolina May 10 - date of the death of Confederate General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson in 1863 and the capture of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in 1865. Yeah, that's not weird.
  • South Carolina May 10 See remarks at North Carolina. (Like most other holidays, the observed date shifts to Friday if it falls on Saturday, and to Monday if it falls on Sunday.)
  • Tennessee June 3 - Jefferson Davis' birthday.
  • Texas January 19 - Confederate Heroes Day. In 1973, the Texas legislature combined the previously official state holidays of Robert E. Lee's and Jefferson Davis' birthdays into a single "Confederate Heroes Day" to honor all who had served the Southern Cause. In some years, this date may coincide with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. State offices are partially staffed in recognition of this day. January 19 2015 January 19 2016 January 19 2017

38 USC 1501("Pension for non-service related disability or death or for service")

(3) The term “Civil War veteran” includes a person who served in the military or naval forces of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War, and the term “active military or naval service” includes active service in those forces.

It started out with I'm sorry. He was kind enough to not only send the revised retail pricing, but also our revised COGS and margin.

Not. Making. This. Up.
