GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (24 Viewers)

Most of my clothes just show up when my wife buys them from wherever she shops. I only buy fun tee shirts like my Carlos Marmol shirt or my Salt Lake Bees shirt.

I don't know how to search within this thread. Bentley was interested in Trunk Club. Got my first trunk today. Had I kept everything, it would have cost a ton:

boxer briefs $20

Tommy John undershirt $40

linen gingham shirt $198

black captoe dress shoes $450

swim trunks $48

socks (3x) $34

gaberdeen slacks $198

chinos $98

coral shorts $78

casual long sleeve shirt $135

polo $88

polo $76

blue suede shoes $135

khaki shorts $48

light hoodie $198

I kept a couple things and sent the rest back. They said the first trunk is more about learning fit and style.

I needed some stuff, and this is basically just nordstrom prices and brands. If it wasn't for the convenience and the fact that I did need a couple things, I probably would have sent it all back. If you have disposable income for clothes, it's fine. if you have time to go to nordstrom rack or something like that and don't hate shopping (or you have a wife) you're probably better off going with that.

O COME ON

wearing a gingham shirt right now. not linen.

that trunk thing... woof. Fish- you don't have time to go to Uniqlo? you've got disposable income you just want to burn and no time for the burning? seems like a whole lot more than even the fashion crowd would spend on stuff. but that could be my depression era jewish grandma's voice telling me that retail is for suckers. but retail plus "stylist" mark-up is for winners.

I like it too.

But I assumed that it would anger the ancient one. It probably would have, if he wasn't worried about passing a pebble through his pee pee.

I looked at that Uniqlo site...what a terrible web design. I don't have time to find clothes there.

The upside to Trunk Club is the stylist. I gave feedback and texted her pictures of a couple things and explained what I liked or didn't about the fit. She's able to see what looks good on me and what doesn't. I don't mind paying retail on a few unique items in my rotation if they look good and fit well. Left up to me, my wardrobe would be pretty conservative. When I go shopping, I try to get one of the twenty-somethings or my ex gf to go with me because otherwise I'd just keep buying the same basic stuff.

I'm originally a southern california skater/surfer. shorts, vans and a t-shirt were pretty much good for any occasion. I have no idea how to dress for non-business and off of my couch or boat. This addresses those needs.

But no freaking way I pay $200 for a linen gingham shirt.
