We are now officially dog-sitting a border collie. In addition to our German Shepherd, Corgi puppy and five kids.

Yay?
can you give some of the kids back? or a dog?
Well, technically right now we have zero kids in the house.

Which is, literally, the only good thing about our exes.

But by this weekend it is going to be a chaotic jumble of kids and dogs.

I "discovered" a quick and tasty treat last night. tortilla+pepperonii+mozzarella Microwave to melt cheese roll and eat. Fast, delicious and 10x better than that Papa Johns crap my boys like.
My go to is a quesadilla with a fresh TorillaLand tortilla, mozzarella, pepperoni, and shaved parmesan. Gotta grill that tortilla.

I recently discovered these.

Walking isn't enough. Seriously considering a gym. :bag:

It's the 3 year anniversary of me being a dumb ####. Yeah, shove it. I didn't care much before...well that's exactly not true. You know what I mean though, #### it right?

Place I work at now had a company wide meeting this morning. I was a little freaked out about it because it was announced 3-4 weeks ago but an agenda wasn't set. If they were going to annouce they would sell, it could possibly be a big problem with us selling.

Good news, it wasn't. However the seafood and booze I drank the night before were reminding me they were in my gut. Not sure how I did it but I held that terrible fart back the entire meeting. Whooo

I have got to use the restroom though. Problem is this is a real business with, like 150, employees. (Save it dorks). There isn't anyplace to go without alarming people. Irritable Bowl is awful. My ### is like a box a chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.

So I weigh my options. I could go to a hotel near by. I've done it many times before. No. No, I need to go home. So I head 34 miles home going 80 in the safe spots 60 through the speed traps.

I was only 3 miles from my exit when I noticed a white car going pretty fast 1/4-1/2 mile behind me. I could see his low profile lights but they weren't on. #### me. I get out of the fast lane, which is my mistake shame on me, and get over one lane. Then I make a 3 lane change to the right and take the exit. Nope. Now the cop, a State Trooper, is all over me. I give him a wave in my review mirror that I see him, I'll pull over, but I want a safe spot for him. He gives me hand signals back.

I pull over in a spot that wasn't safe for him. He walks to my window, I roll it down, he informs me I was doing 79 in a 60. I'm relieved. 80 in a 60 and now I'm paying so I don't have to go to some sort of awareness meeting. Okay, I don't have to pay somebody a lot so I don't have to... Anyway, he asks me why I'm driving so fast. I tell him "I really have to ####. Now, my uncle is a cop, my cousin is a cop, I have cop friends, I know this is one of the most frequently used excuses but it's true." He leaves, goes back to his car and I'm figuring #### it.

He let me go with a warning. :lmao:

I have a couple of very ambitious interns working for me this summer. One of them finally had a breakthrough on his project and I fought the urge to say "another win for Milos!" The kid is 26, so it seemed like a lot of work. Doesn't stop my co-worker from endlessly quoting Real Genius, however.

Spending the night in a hotel with your wife and 3 small children sure is fun

On the bright side the west side of Michigan has some amazingly hot chicks

I've mentioned before that my brother is an #######. Essentially just the most selfish person I've ever known. Many examples of this that I won't bore you with. Also was just a huge jackass to my dad our whole lives, until my dad got sick (and died), when he became a jackass only 78% of the time. After dad died it suddenly became this horribly tragic event in my brother's life to evoke sympathy, even though he went through years of not even speaking to my dad.

Until fairly recently, my mom was the only person that my brother had consistently been decent to in our entire lives. But after a bad marriage and one kid (my almost-16-year-old nephew, who somehow is great despite bad parents), my brother got remarried and has gone to being a #### to my mom about as much as he is to everyone else. Though they lived within 10 miles of each other, my brother would see my mom only a couple or few times a year and would constantly post stuff on Facebook showing fun stuff they were doing without inviting my mom/stepfather.

As my FB/FBG friends might know, my mom and stepfather just moved to my town in Washington. Much excitement for me, as I haven't lived in the same state as family since high school, and I know they will be really happy here. Well, despite never actually wanting to include my mom in anything, my brother took the news badly allegedly because they should have waited until my nephew graduated from high school (two years) before moving. Who knows why that matters since they rarely got to see him.

In all the moving time, my brother/family never offered to help or do anything at all. They made no plans to get together with my mom before the departure and only saw them when my 95-year-old grandfather asked for a family get-together. My mom/stepfather gave my nephew their second car as a gift when leaving town. (It was a pretty nice car.) It was immediately absconded with by my new SIL who has even posted pics of herself in it on FB. My nephew has told my mom he'll never get to use it because it's hers now. No one--NO ONE--has thanked them for giving away their car.

Mom has now been in town for five days and my brother has not inquired to see if they made it here OK (they drove across the country for 2500 miles) nor even asked for their new address. My stepfather, who is the most patient man in the world, has said that when he next sees them he doesn't plan to talk to them.

tl;dr I have no point here. I'm just venting. I have a horrible sibling and feel awful for my mom. Cannot vent through more regular (family, friends, FB) channels for obvious reasons.
tl;dr K4's bro is a jackass, she's not.

Have fun camping! 'tis not my thing *(yet), but 2016 we're spending two weeks in the eastern U.P. of Michigan. With tents and...stuff. Kayaking around Pictured Rocks and hiking through woods to look at water falling off ledges. I'm. Super. Excited. For the kids.

I had Lasik's done yesterday. Besides remembering how nice valium is, it's amazing how much better the world looks with 20/20 vision.

I had cataracts removed a couple years ago. After I had one eye done, looking at a white surface with the "bad" eye looked like this. Never realized how bad it was until one was fixed.

looks like our 4yo might have vision problems.

anybody have to deal with this?
How bad? What are the issues?

My 3 yo has had glasses for over a year now and we have to patch 4 hours per day. Shuke's daughter also had some issues
dunno yet. she saw her doctor a few days ago, but couldn't figure out the eye test (according to my wife).

made me realize that I've seen her squinting at things and acting as if she doesn't understand what I'm pointing at while trying to read her a book. also made me think that it's been harder to get her to recognize letters and numbers than it was for her older brother.

wife gave her an at-home eye test and she had trouble reading the 2nd line from 10 feet (our son read all the lines without problem).

we're trying to get her in to a specialist- but our insurance sucks.

Meh, there are like 50 balls in there instead of the standard 5-6.

How old are you? I asked my doctor about Lasiks and he said I was too old.
Some of the best money I've ever spent but that was 18 years ago. Eyes are still incredibly sharp. I could probably be a fighter pilot or MLB player. I think you are too old though GB, juice not worth the squeeze.

BTW, will you be taking you minivan to the scrip club?

one of my boys has had glasses since one. He also had to get surgery to re-align the muscle in one of the eyes b/c it was going in. Did you just notice something, or have you seen a doctor yet?

Depending on where you live (an insurance) there should be a pediatric optometrist (ologist?) in most cities. Obviously with these things the earlier the better. My boy is far sighted and it's just one of those things where he gets glasses and it could fix itself over time, or he just wears glasses and gets lasik when old enough.

If it's similar, you'll find that they love wearing the glasses b/c it helps them see so much better. Good luck

my daughter had issues with one crossing inwards. her vision was also slightly off, it was never bad enough to stop her from reading or more accurately, playing on the iPad :hot: .

she wears glasses and we did years of patching. 95% handled. when she's really tired the eye will occasionally wander inwards, but only slightly.

:goodposting:

See what you can do to find a specialist.

All 3 of my girls have lazy eyes (both my wife and myself had them growing up). We tried patching the oldest but it did not work so she got surgery on both eyes. 4 yo is wearing glasses, 2 yo probably needs to start.

Yeah, doctor said soon enough, he'll perform some sort of cataract surgery on me or something and that will have the same effect....he'll power one eye up or something. I wasn't really paying attention as I was flabbergasted to learn I was too old for something.
