You guys should definitely put four weeks worth of cornhole coordination posts in here though. That'll be good times.
#### off.

So where are we going to meet? What time? Where do you think we'll go after? What are we going to eat? Will there be pulltabs? How long will it take me to get there? What are you guys wearing when we meet?

ETA: Please answer each question in a separate post. TIA.

Weird. I'm not even gonna be there.

All this "Ballard" talk has me nostalgic. Need to get back to Seattle so hard. :kicksrock:
Well, you're closer now. How is Reno going?
Honestly? Overall sort of lukewarm. Some things have been unexpectedly positive, a few other negative. Still a few too many plates spinning to allow us to get back to some semblance of "normalcy" yet. Only been a month though. Trying to withhold any snap judgements.

On the plus side, a joint with 60 micro/craft brews on tap opened about a mile or so from our house about 10 days ago. Owners seem cool. That's been nice.

I met frosty for the first time this past weekend. I'll take your silence as a "WTF?"

He's as dreamy as you all would think. I had to get a haircut for a gay wedding I was attending so I hope you all understand that I had to leave him within the first hour

Lucky!

Wife and I out having a nice weekend. My MIL's landlord is buying her a security system, so that should help things.

My daughter about broke my heart when we left her with my parents. We went out to lunch with them before leaving and she wouldn't look at them. She had her face buried in my wife's arm. I thought she was either being shy or goofy and eventually sternly told her to stop being rude and to eat her food. Turned out she was super nervous about leaving us for the weekend and was sobbing.

We did finally get her calmed down and she ended up being fine when we actually left, and I know she'll be perfectly fine and have fun today. But man, yelling at her and then realizing she was sobbing because she was scared and going to miss us shattered my heart.

In other news, I saw Cheap Trick at a free 4th of July concert years ago. They were pretty terrible.

Also, Philly could be such a nice city if it weren't for the people. And pervasive urine smell. And sewer smells.

Lastly, it's funny how a new job or hobby can change how you look at things. As part of my new job, I do hazardous materials and asbestos surveys in buildings. The hotel we're in this weekend is a fairly nice hotel, but I immediately noticed the popcorn ceiling in our room. And I can't help wondering how old it is because it could very well be asbestos if it is 20+ years old. Good times.

worst concert i ever saw, unfortunately multiple times, was Smashing Pumpkins. I don't think you could intentionally sound that awful.

although one time I went to see Janes Addiction here in Portland and the warm up act was some fat chick from texas with a 4 man band backing her up and i'm guessing she played for about 40 mins. the last 2-3 songs people were booing her. when she finally finished she yells "#### you Portland" and walks off the stage to thunderous applause.
saw SP once, awful

I didn't "get" most of the 90s bands, but Smashing Pumpkins especially mystified me with their popularity. Can someone explain to me why they were so important?

Couldn't stand them. IIRC BAbe considers them one of the best bands ever, so maybe he can explain.

studio albums were pretty damn solid. Corgan is your stereotypical pompous rock star who thinks he was the entire band and that his #### didn't stink....which is basically the opposite of all of the bands that got huge in the early 90s. At least Scott Weiland has heroin to blame.....Corgan is just a first class ahole

I could give less than a #### if Corgan was an ###. Chuck Berry may well be the worst human in rock history, but he made fine records. The Pumpkins, zzzzzzzzzzzz. The music itself does nothing for me - there's no consistent rhythm, no melody, and the singing sucks. They're like the Talking Heads (who also suck) without the soul.

If you 1. Believe the Smashing Pumpkins suck and 2. Find yourself in Chicago I would suggest keeping that opinion to yourself. They're unnecessarily proud of the fact that SP is from there.

I got attacked by birds yesterday. Went golfing and on one of the last holes (about 1 hr before sunset) hit my drive by a stand of trees. Drive up there and these blackbirds started divebombing the ####### cart! Like 5-6 of them. So I drove away and walked up to my ball and they kept coming. I grabbed my ball and threw it far enough away and as I was getting into the cart one of the little ####ers actually hit me in the head.

Agreed. His voice is horrible.

I simply stated that they had a run of three albums in the 90's that were pretty good, a better trio than most all of their peers in the grunge/alt scene.

But yes they are terrible live.

Seriously - is it a moment-in-time thing? I can't understand it. SP are objectively awful. I love Grand Funk and know they suck. Is it like that?

Were you an angsty teen when they were at their peak? If you weren't I can see not liking them

I was a pretentious ####er as a teen. Just an awful person.
