Lost all electricity at about 4pm on Saturday and just got it back about an hour ago. It was friggin freezing in my house last night, though I probably shouldn't complain since alot of other people in the neighboring towns are going to be out of power for up to a week according to some reports. The only good thing about last night was that I discovered that masturbating by candle-light is both enjoyable and romantic.

 
As for sing-a-long songs at bars, I was at a bar on Friday night that was packed and someone played "Africa" by Toto on the jukebox. At first I kinda laughed about what an odd song for someone to pick, but when the chorus hit everyone was singing along and dancing. Especially all the girls dressed up in their Halloween costumes. I'd never seen a sing-a-long to "Africa" before. If it was "Roseanna" I wouldn't have been so shocked.

Diet Update:Down 18.2 pounds. 3 weeks to go in this contest at work and me and my partner have a 10+ pound lead over second place. As long as I don't have a week long crash into an All You Can Eat Buffet, the money is in the bank.

Baseball Update:We won again this week, 18-6, running our unofficial YMCA record to 4-0-2. My son got a crucial hit in the bottom of the last inning and scored a run. Not crucial to the game, but crucial to his emotions as he had gone hitless to that point and everything rides on if he gets a hit or not each game. So happy times.

Divorce Update:Had the kids over to stay the night for the first time Saturday night. It was a lot of fun with all of the Halloween activities going on. My wife actually met us for church on Sunday morning, but did not sit with me during services, which was fine with me, but she brought it up when I dropped the kids off last night. Said that she could not sit with me when I had sat there, listening to the messages, and still left. How it is not God's plan for a man to leave his family, it was my plan. I wanted to come back with, "It's also God's plan for a wife to honor, respect and #### her husband." But I didn't, I simply nodded my head, kissed my kids goodbye and walked out the door.

Glad you had fun with the kids.Regarding your wife- stay strong. There will be more times like this. If it's any consolation, this sort of crap is common.

Think of the next couple of years as a process where everyone needs to get over the shock of the new reality and work out exactly what their roles and boundaries are.

I know you feel like doing joint activities is nice for the kids, but honestly I'd avoid doing anything jointly with the ex unless it's attending a kid's event (back to school night; soccer game; school play; birthday party; etc.). Holidays you'll have to work out for yourself, but start getting into the mindset that the "family environment" that you're trying to make at church is precisely the thing that broke down. Your kids will know that you love them based upon 1) what you directly show them, and 2) how they see you working cooperatively with your ex and treating her civilly.
