GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

saw an old zippy thread bumped and i decided to read his lunch blog again.

July 20, 2006...

i'm back to keeping this on a regular basis...my gb seth davis has been encouraging me to get this rolling again as the #1 lunch blog on the net..

i waited too long to eat yesterday and i was starving, luckily the taco bell drive up was empty when i got there..

3 hard taco supremes, sans sour cream...they actually forgot the tomatoes so i really ended up paying extra for regular hard tacos

add a large dr pepper and away we go to the bathroom...something just didn't sit right yesterday and i didn't feel good the rest of the day...
Don't know why, but that cracked me up

Trying out a recipe for sweet potato cakes with cilantro lime sauce. It's a possible Thanksgiving dish. Hope it works out. :fingerscrossed:
Result: :moneybag: The sauce is a sour cream base and an excellent contrast to the sweet potato cakes. This will be on the Thanksgiving menu.
You know what's great? When you think it's starting to get dark outside and should go inside but then you realize you have sunglasses on.
Even better is when I've been drinking all day and when I stand up I almost fall down. At first I think maybe I should lie down or stop drinking, but then remember I haven't eaten all day, so I not only get to keep drinking, but eat something, too.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Man, never been there.

Last game at Husky Stadium before it gets completely revamped tonight. Huskies are playing Oregon, who are a lot better than we are, and we just got absolutely waxed by Stanford a couple weeks ago. I'm watching the game with an Oregon grad. Pretty sure this is going to suck.
I dunno....I think this might be a really hard game for the Ducks. They haven't played all that well on defense and tonight, they might get caught off guard. If this Husky team comes out firing, it might be a long night in Seattle.
I hope you're right, but if the last 7 games in a row are any indication (and our putrid defense against your all world offense), we're sunk. I hope the huskies can at least keep it close so I can blame the refs or something.
Huskies have a good Offense but their D is no good. They gave up 24 points to Colorado and Colorado recruited half their team from a bar before the game.

Just ate a 14" pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and Canadian bacon. Note that I didn't say some pizza. I may slip into a coma.

Awesome.Nobody snores like my old man snores. It's like there's a misfiring industrial engine surrounded by empty Bud Light cans on the living room couch.

I don't know where I got this recipe (it might have come from this board somewhere I'm not sure) but this is one outstanding soup. Make it.

1 pound boneless chicken breasts or tenders, cut into 1-inch cubes

2 small potatoes, cubed

1 small carrot, diced

1 1/2 cups frozen corn kernels

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped celery

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1/4 tsp ground black pepper

1/4 t cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

2 1/2 cups vegetable juice (V-8 Brand)

1 1/2 cups chicken broth

1/2 t salt

Combine chicken, vegetables, mustard, black and cayenne pepper, and garlic powder in slow cooker; pour vegetable juice and chicken broth over all. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours. Taste and add salt, if needed.

Serves 4 to 6.

Girlfriend moved to an apartment the next block over - behind my complex and three doors down - a month ago. I'm preparing to do my now-traditional, bi-weekly Sunday morning walk of shame. :drive:

dammit- I hate myself for this, but I need fantasy football advice.

who to flex- Ben Tate, A Hernandez, K Faulk. (no PPR, standard scoring).

Did you guys watching the Huskies Ducks have know that Joel Klatt was a CU quarterback? It makes it almost seem like CU is a factor...

Almost

Joe's kid had a beautiful pass there late in the game. That kids's a red shirt freshman? Hoo-boy - The Huskies are set at QB for the next half decade. If they can find some guys to catch the ball, they might be dangerous

They've got them. They're just really, really young, and for the most part had a piss poor day today. I'm not worried about the offense. Price is a redshirt sophomore, sankey is a freshman, callier is (i believe) a sophomore, ASJ/Williams are freshmen, and I don't think we're losing any o-linemen next year. The offense has a chance to be special in the next couple years. All around terrible day today though. I thought the Ducks played piss poorly (you can tell how damn good they are though), and they handled UW with ease.

Can we mix in a touchdown for our "game of the century" 2011?

Congrats to GM on his epic victory yesterday. That is huge. We lost our baseball game yesterday, really bad, to run our record to 4-1-2 for the season. Last game is next Saturday.

Louis vs. Rick is making me laugh so hard I am crying.

Stache Update - Day 6

Went to a housewarming party last night, my first social event as a single person in, well, since high school. Was pretty cool, fit in pretty well even though it's wasn't my usual crowd. I brought a bottle of wine for the host, while the alcohol choices at the party were, Bud Light and Miller Lite. A couple of really cute girls there who were super friendly, but also huge smokers. Got to decide if that is going to be a dealbreaker early on. So far it is.

Stepdad is home from the hospital. We know it's cancer, but don't know what kind. Should get the results on Monday where we can go and get another opinion.

Whoa whoa whoa here fella....these are PRECISELY the girls you need to target. Girls that smoke, do it. I know they ALL do it, but they are MORE LIKELY to do it with a freshly divorced, moustache sporting, floppy hair dude so I strongly suggest you take that 'dealbreaker' nonsense, throw it away and adust your target accordingly. Find the girls that smoke and initiate conversation. If you can, find out what their daddy situation was like...their self esteem. Any tattoos? If so, GREAT! You'll be getting more tail than a toilet seat in no time.
