GM's thread about nothing (11 Viewers)

There are three really good popsicle flavors that stand above all others:

1. Banana

2. Root Beer

3. Lime

In no particular order. Then you probably have orange, and then all the other crap.
1. wat2. wat

3. wat
1. :moneybag: 2. :boxing:

2. :lmao:
Really? What do you guys like for popsicles? And I mean popsicles, not your fancy hippy crap.
Cherry?Orange?

Lemon?

Pretty much anything other than Banana or Root Beer?

After that start, I think we need to redefine "winning" as "keeping Wimer from winning". Recommend following a good mod's rankings on the even rounds, and using Wimer's rankings on the odd ones, taking whoever he likes best when you pick before him on the turn. You're not winning your league by following the advice of the guy who had this to say about the Glen Coffee surprise retirement today:

Huh. Oh well, he wasn't on any of my dynasty teams...
but at least you can tilt him like a pinball machine.

Root beer is the king of soft drinks. I've never seen rootbeer popsicles and I may have to intimidate the supermarket manager into getting them.
Is Canada a popsicle deficient nation? Root beer popsicles have been around for at least 30 years.
:goodposting: I ate them when I was a kid, which was...a while ago.And I love both root beer and banana popsicles. You people that don't must be Canadian or something.

Take 6 Ds. :goodposting:
With Manning at QB I'm tempted to not even bother with another QB.
Lots of nerds in this thing. Some talk about SOS and weighting for bye weeks has broken out.

This sounds too hard.

How can you write a decent love letter in 300 characters? You suck PayPal.

Hey GB, We wanted to send you a care package for your tough time right now. We started with an Asian prostitute but forgot to put air holes in the package when we sent it and now the FBI has a warrant out for a Mr. Harrison Stevens. Sincerely, The FFA

You people got some guy's apartment all dusty today. You really got some 'splainin to do. :shakesfist:

Oh my god my team just keeps getting worse. It's like I'm on some uncontrollable freight train towards sucksville and even though I want to get off I just can't do it and keep heading towards oblivion.

Like Woz must feel like every day.

Got home and I'm not paying attention to what Mr. krista4 has on TV, and I hear "Leeeeeeeeeeeet, the river run" and I say "Oooooh, Working Girl".

Mr. krista4 is fascinated that I've ever heard of this movie and has no idea what it is. Doesn't understand the whole concept of it and keeps asking me questions.

Perils of marrying someone quite a bit younger. How can anyone not know Working Girl????

Still :goodposting: on this. I either posted about landscaping when drunk and have no recall, or SLB now knows my last name and thinks I'm Mexican. Either way, I would be one of the last 5 people on Earth who would be able to help with this. Sorry, GB.
 Keep it simple...a man is asking a woman about landscaping.
Correction...a Mexican man is asking a woman about landscaping.
Wait, Bronkowitz is a Mexicaned name?

That might not have had the right verbs.Anyway, anyone would know this movie, much like Overboard I guess, except Mr. krista4.

Still watching it, BTW. He still doesn't understand why this was a big deal at the time.

CONUNDRUM:

Me and the missus have tickets for Belle and Sebastian on October 3, Sunday, down in Los Angeles. It's about a six-hour drive for us, but we both dearly love them, so it should be a lot of fun. And it'll be a nice chance to get away for the day. The plan was to go down on the day of, and then drive part of the way back that night, and then come home the following day and take a half-day from work. My mom has already agreed to watch the baby, so we're all set.

Then comes the announcement today that RKade Fire is playing locally, at the Greek Theatre...on October 2. The Greek is a beautiful outdoor venue (link to those hippies Phish playing it here), and AF played here their last time around and it was epic. Honestly, it's way too small for them given their current stature, but apparently they are huge fans of the place, so there you have it.

Anyway, I mention this to my wife this morning, and she just completely shoots down the idea of going. She says she doesn't want to get a babysitter for both days of the weekend, which is reasonable, but there are plenty of people we know that would be willing to do it.

So do I:

a) skip it

b) try to work the angle of finding someone else to watch her, even though she's already shot it down

c) just ask if I can go and she can stay home with the baby

d) Bring the baby along, since it'll be outdoors and probably fairly manageable if we sit up high enough

:lmao:

Can you make the Arcade Fire show a "surprise" for her? Find a babysitter, get tickets, do dinner, bang her in a parking lot, etc?

I could, but she's already shot the idea down. I don't know if making it a surprise would help.Going w/o her (and with other friends) might be the way to go. I'm actually a pretty involved/active father, relatively speaking. And I enjoy it. Leave me alone for a day with the baby, no problem. And I've built up enough currency to ask out for a night, but I'd need a good way to do it without sounding like an entitled ###.

Yeah, definitely pretty obscure, having won an Oscar (for the song referenced above) and been nominated for several more and all, including Best Picture.

You're definitely thinking of Pretty Woman. Jason Alexander was great in that. He was such a jerk.

I managed to miss Pretty Woman. Hoping to get into Julia Roberts with this Eat Pray Love thing, though. :lmao:
The second sentence above is a lie.
