I'm taking the Jeopardy test Thursday.
 Good luck. When in doubt always answer "Henrik Ibsen"
I passed the qualifying test, but never got the call... :kicksrock:
The online test? The year before I was on I had passed the 'brick and mortar' test down in Culver City. Never got called either. That was also the year the Jennings hack cheated his way through a bunch of games. I think his run screwed up the contestant pool.
no, I did the "brain bus" test when it came through San Diego. written test followed by the mock game--killed it on the mock game.
They won't come out and say it but there is sort of a quota system when it comes to contestants. They do whatever they can to try to make the pool as diverse as possible. For whatever reason the majority of people that try out AND pass the test are white dudes, over 30, probably some sort of professional or at least with a decent job.Let's say they've got 100 people that have passed the test and didn't crap the bed during the mock game. The majority of them are going to fit the profile above. The rest of the pack is composed of women, non-white folk, older people, younger people etc. They're going to try to bring in as many of the minority group as possible.
:kicksrock:
they have a distinct lack of albinos. you should be fine.

Just found out that my stepdad's lung cancer has moved to his spine. The only thing the hospital is doing today is upping his morphine script. Just last week he talked about going back to work.#### you cancer.
so sorry to hear this.Bring him home if you can- or a hospice. Get him out of the hospital for his final days if there's anyway to do so.
This is great advice.Kind of stressful on the family, but he will feel much better there.Good luck.

This kid toucher is making balloon animals and doing magic tricks for little kids at the fun center thing we're at
That ####### otter place? Hell on earth.
:lmao: yeah, pretty much. I tried to convince my daughter to try Dave & Busters instead, but she wanted Totter's Otterville or Chuck E Cheese Good to see you in the GMTAN, GB
Thanks. I search the FFA for "Star Trek" everyday and it led me here.ETA: Wow, this thread moves fast.

Did anybody guess "feces"? Because that's what it was. A wet blanket wrapping an enormous pile of runny feces, abaondoned outside our place of business like an unwanted baby. Very strange indeed.

So I'm just dicking around on the interwebs and somehow Fox News has been on in the background. I havent really been paying attention, but there have been at least 27 commercials for gold in the last hour. WTF?

Smart people bought gold 10 years ago when it was ~$300 an ounce. Fox News caters to the 'other' people. HTH.

What the hell is a Pinkberry?
By-product of mochi
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The co-founder of Pinkberry frozen yogurt has been charged with assault for attacking a homeless panhandler with a tire iron after the man flashed a provocative tattoo at him, authorities said on Tuesday.Young Lee, 47, a kick boxer turned architect, helped create the Los Angeles-based Pinkberry in 2005 and the company has since grown to over 170 locations around the world.
Hope this dude gets the chair. Pinkberry? Really? There were no other options for names on the table?

He is home, has been the whole time, which has been good. Drives to the hospital for chemo and upcoming radiation. But not sure what this new finding is going to bring about. He will be at home as much as possible. Thanks for all the TPWs.

Oh god. Don't ever confuse knowing a bunch of crap with being smart.

I think I could hold my own in a game of trivia with you....

Meet me in the lobby of the Benson at 11am sharp Sunday for the challenge.

$1000 wager

Two categories: enology and spelling

Mrs. SLB and myself started watching the first season of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Really funny stuff. When does Devito become a regular character?

Also at the funeral in "The Gang Finds A Dead Guy" they just happened to be paying our wedding song. Mrs. SLB asked me if I recognized it. "Yeah, they played that at my funeral too" was the wrong answer.
