14 teams and a tiny bump in innings pitched? Just try 1400 innings...you might like it.
Look, I'm not the keeper of the rules. I'm just the only one every year not lazy enough in this league to make sure we have everyone committed to it.
It's hard enough getting people to pay and making sure everyone is available for a draft, and I don't have the time or energy to try to coordinate league rule changes. Hell, I don't even know how to set the rosters, Jethro usually does that.
I'm not for or against whatever rules, as long as the majority agrees. I'm just trying to get 14-16 dudes to agree on a time and place for a draft.
I think Yahoo free leagues default to 1250, which is why we've always used it. I don't know if we can even tweak that number without upgrading to some other package.
I'm just trying to make this as easy as possible.
Look, I get all that. And I'm very appreciative of your efforts. I run another league just like this one, only I don't have a Jethro to help me out, so believe me, I get where you are coming from. But you have been against increasing the innings for a few years now and since you are the one person not lazy enough to take on the roll of commish, your reticence is infectious whether you think that or not. And when you move to 16 owners and keep the innings capped at 1250, you hamstring the league by putting an incredible amount of value on closers and make it hard for teams with competitive rotations to compete with the owners who have stacked line-ups. If you want to have more owners, you need to consider augmenting the value of starting pitchers. It's an argument we've gone over before. I'm going to guess it will fall on deaf ears again.
As for the league default, that's just simply not the case. As I've said to you before, all you have to do is go into the league settings and adjust the number upwards. WA LA. There is no agenda from Yahoo to keep the IP at 1250.
As far as league payment goes, I've helped you out twice in the last two years collecting league dues and we did it just fine. It took some teeth pulling for some (Cough cough FIN cough) but we got it done. As a guy who has run several different leagues consisting of internet strangers for over a decade, I know it's a giant pain in the butt...but I've done my part to get the league dues in and back out in a timely fashion. All I'm asking for is a consideration for more innings pitched. I'm not asking you to suit up and hit homeruns for me.
