GM's thread about nothing (22 Viewers)

Coached a 9am hoops game for my older son's team. We were 3-0 coming into the game. Pretty sure we lost by 30. Not a lot of African American boys in the Beaverton School District. We ran into a team with 3 of them on it. Whoa. Three of our guys cried.

Coached younger son's game at 10:30am. First time this season I was able to coach his team during a game due to scheduling overlap. For 2nd grade, coaches are on the floor, no refs. I was in a horrible mood due to my first game. But all was forgotten when our Austic player scored his first basket of the year today. Sure, I had to run down and essentially set a pick for him and sure, he missed 10 shots before he got this one, but damn it, he was going to score. Gym erupted. Bad mood forgotten.

Took a small nap at home. Rare event for me. Woke up and went for a 3 mile run at the track at 2pm. Awesome day here. 55 degrees and sunny, no wind. Felt awesome to soak in some sun and run.

Took wife to 4pm happy hour at Portland City Grill, which means we had to line up outside an elevator with other early birds and wait for 4pm to head up to the 30th floor hot spot. Got a great table by the window and enjoyed happy hour wine, beer, pork buns, sushi, fries. My wife had her first glass of wine in over a month. We subscribe to the belief that a pregnant gal can enjoy an occasional drink if she stops at one. She LOVED it. Place was packed. We spotted a good looking couple eyeballing our table, invited them to join us and signed out our tab. They were very nice and appreciative. We were home by 5:20. And for the first time in what seems like a long long time, she initiated and wanted some sexy time!!!! :excited:

She's been asleep since 6pm. You guys get to hang out with me. :banned: :banned: :banned:

lol at Divorce Manager
Whoops, meant lawyer. :lmao: I've actually become social friends with my divorce attorney. We've gone out boozing and to the scrip clubs a few times. Solid guy.
Would be pretty sweet if you just hired him full time.
Even cooler would be if he offered to pick up a round of drinks once in a blue moon. Come on, Lionel Hutz...I DID stroke you a nice check a few years back and you know I'm a marital risk.
I got a buddy that's a pretty big nuts criminal defense lawyer. I've only used him for an assault, but I send all of my buddies to him. He buys me drinks like I'm important.

1. gM.... The girl that I saw while I was out there, she told me to play it slow. Thoughts??

2. I'm hammered and taxi home soonish

3 . Ran into my ex talking to 4 random dudes. Fml

I'm about 10 minutes away from winning that PowerBall thingy. Start making a list of things you guys need/want. I look forward to helping making all of your dreams come true.

Never mind. It's the thought that counts. Everyone please resume with your debauchery.

Oh, and thanks to CC's FB work, I heard from Tuesday girl again. it looks like I'll be seeing her again sometime soon-ish. She seems pretty fun and we've got a fair amount in common, so conversation is easy. I need to make sure that she doesn't get too attached and realizes that I'm just looking for some fun. I think she understands that now, but could see it becoming an issue if I see her too often. the first date was pretty fun and random and I still have her belt at my place. I think the $ move here is to forget to bring the belt to the next date so she has to come back to get it. (Stripes)
I think the $ move would be to UPS it back to her fashioned into a noose. Yikes.
:lmao: Jesus.

So about 2 hours later than I thought I'd get it started, the pork is porking.Another beer and I'm feeling pretty good, so I started putting together some spray for the pork.Three parts apple juice to one part Captain Morgan. I don't paricularly care for apple juice. Or Captain Morgan.
You don't need the spray. For next time.

shuke> I have a novel recommendation.

I just read Ask the Dust by John Fante in a class. Great read. Strong voice. Crazy character. Short length (like 165 pages).

I babbled on more in the books thread.

Added to the queue. Which is pretty damn long.

I agree with whoever said that the Shark move was spending the party grilling and drinking beer instead of having to awkwardly interact with a bunch of people that I don't like all that much. I've done that for both of JR's birthday parties. The people I want to spend time with will stop by to hang out at the grill, assist and get more beer while my wife has to deal with the rest of the jerks.

This is the 2nd wife?

I'm officially old. I can't sleep in past 8:30 anymore. I know I'm going to need a nap at some point to ward off this headache, but I can't fall back asleep. And I can't help but wonder how Thorn and Tre are feeling this am.

The best part of waking up after a night like that is seeing the collateral damage I imparted over text and email. I think I survived that one without making too much of a mess.

So, I've got texts from a couple friends asking me what happened with the "brown haired girl" last night, but I have no recollection of said brown haired girl. I'm pretty positive I left the event with just my two buddies

I also live how I apparently catch up on this thread when no one else is around, so there are massive blocks of guster krippling :lmao:

I haven't been grocery shopping in 2 weeks and it's starting to catch up with me. Pretty sure I'm going to have brownies for breakfast

It's a crimmas miracle. The ex wife had to go to urgent care (our daughter has strep and gave it to her) and just called and said she was in the area and wanted to know if she could get me anything while she was out. Sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich here I come!!

I like my family & friends :shrug:Plus, I want to see my kids do stuff like eat the cake and play in the bounce house, etc.
