GM's thread about nothing (9 Viewers)

Happy Birthday to Thorn.
:goodposting: I hope you're wearing the Reese's shirt today. For reasons other than Atty Thorn's birthday, I plan on drinking tonight until my liver begs me to stop. It makes me all warm and fuzzy to know that most of you will be doing the same.
My liver has long since given up on negotiation; it just hunkers down and tries to ride it out as best it can. Oh, and happy birthday Thorn. :banned:
What's a CEU?
Continuing Education Unit. I have to earn 36 of them every two years to maintain my professional certification as a medical coder, which to date has not made me one thin dime.

Is there anything to do in Walnut Creek? Truck? Apparently I'm going to be spending a fair bit of time there over the next month or two for some stupid case.

Will be participating in a Skate-a-thon next weekend and am looking for ideas on costumes to wear. It's four hours, fifty minutes with ten minutes of ice cleaning per hour, so I'm hoping to have a costume for each of the separate blocks. Two rinks will be used, one for casual skaters and the other for those who will be trying to pump the laps...I'll be skating on the death rink. Also, dude in my g/f's office said he would double his donation if I completed 500 laps but said it in such a way that he all but guaranteed I wouldn't come close. He's been a real ray to everyone lately due to his boyfriend leaving him a couple of months ago and I would enjoy proving him wrong. Any thoughts on how to pace this out?Unrelated, happy birthday Thorn.
Thanks GB.PS a real ray? Is that Canadian for richard?
:hot:

While walking down the hall on the way to the bathroom I was contemplating what it would be like to have sex with the girl walking in front of me when another girl with an absolutely spectacular ### came around the corner in front of her. I reached the bathroom but without thinking, delayed going in to continue to watch the spectacular ### walk down he hallway. I suddenly came to my senses and quickly checked behind me to make sure someone from HR didn't catch me frozen in my tracks with my eyes glued to a co-worker's ###, before resuming my staring. This is normal behavior right? I'm not turning into an (unusually) dirty old pervert, am I?
I don't think it's normal to stare at a smoking hot ###, no. Please check yourself into a recovery program before you do any real damage to society.

Think of things that come in 4s. Seasons, 4/5 of Village People, four horsemen of apocalypse, GM's wives, elements, gospels, houses in Harry Potter, etc.

Perfectly normal.

I'm on my own tonight as Mr. krista has opted to travel to Little Rock (I believe that's in Arkansas) to see a show by this guy. RIP, Mr. krista.

So as I'm wont to do, I'm eating alone at an Indian restaurant, and as I'm not wont to do, looking at my Amex year-end summary. Please indicate which of the following 2011 Amex-only spending is more horrifying:

1. Nearly $6000 at various liquor/wine stores. Note that this does not include beer in multi-serve portions, food, mixers, or anything else, since those are not allowed in TN to be sold at liquor/wine stores.

2. Approximately $1000 at Indian restaurants.

I could really go for a good chicken vindaloo right about now.

my daughter is 5 1/2 and her favorite food by far is Indian. She doesn't get too adventurous there, but she absolutely loves some chicken tikka masala and if we go over lunch she will usually at least try pretty much anything there

How does one go about becoming an "ancient astronaut theorist?" Does anyone put that on their 1040A? Is there a Department of Wingnuttery at some school with which I am not familiar? Sooo many questions.

Hmmm, you gave us some good ideas to work on. Thanks, guy. :hifive:Also, sorry about missing your birthday. Happy (very) belated.

I took her to see Star Wars in the theater tonight. She has seen episodes 4-6 countless times since she discovered them a month ago, but has never seen 1,2 or 3. 5 minutes into the movie she turns to me and says she doesn't like this one as much and it's boring compared to 4-6.

Attended a Daddy/Daughter Dance with my lovely princess tonight. Over 200 dads with their daughters, all dressed to the nines.

I feel like there is some kind of Homer joke there, but I can't find it.

doing this tomorrow. my daughter is really excited, but I think it's mostly because they have a raffle at the end and she's won prizes two years in a row.

M'aiq thinks people from the great white north should learn to speak better American.
It's too freakin' cold! I'm sure if you stayed up here, you'd be using glottal stops instead of uvular consonants as well.

:thumbup:With two boys, I'll miss going through that. But I'll also not have to worry about Homer. So it's even.

Just dropped off the wife at the ER as urgent care thinks she might have had a mini-stroke. She has to have a cat scan tonight to check for bleeding on the brain. She said isn't that where they drill holes in your head head. Yeah I answered, but I feel pretty good now she said. I said it creeps up on you and then when the pressure inside your head from the bleeding builds to a point that it affects your brain that is when they bring out the drill. Oh, she said. So i'm home getting the kids in bed and hopefully get to pick her up in a bit. her symptoms were a racing heartbeat and a numb face. This may call for a couple macallans for daddy while he waits for the call.

They have a nice BART station where you can catch a train to San Francisco

Our church, who held the dance, had door prizes, and I was really excited when my daughter won a handmade doll. What was really cool, was it was obvious after a few minutes that every girl in the room was going to win a door prize. It took a while but every ticket was called and everything from dolls to 10 dollar gift cards and more, over 200 girls got to go up to the stage and win something.

ack, better to be safe than sorry. She couldn't understand the female indian dr very well. If I had know I would have called K4 and had her waiter translate.

Piece of advice for anyone with stage 2 hallux rigidus: don't stub your toe.

Holy ####
TO THE WIKIPEDIA!Hmm...........sounds painful.
Pain comes and goes, but is pretty brutal for about 24 hours after stubbing my toe, which I seem to find a way to do about once a week now.
Is it like when you bite your tongue and then it swells a little and you bite it twenty more times?

It would save a lot of time if they loaded all that crap in a pinata and passed out sticks.
