I turn over the chronicles of crazy to Guster. I think I've settled into a healthy, normal relationship--although I'm not sure, since I've never been in one before.
you were the first one i thought of once i realized what i had gotten myself into :lmao: she's texted me three times today to let me know that she got drunk, deleted me off FB and wants to start over as just friends for now. i'm great, wants to get to know me better, etc. oof
She will do anything, but with a price. The more unusual or degrading the act, expect a proportional increase in the crazy.
i'm not sure there's much more to do...
Have her clean your house after she cleans your pipes.

Still holds up. :lmao:

Just devoured an omelet I made in the CIS.

~3 fresh eggs from the farm down the street

~end piece of Honey Smoked ham from last Christmas

-onions & green peppers from my garden

-apple wood smoked teriyaki Portobello mushroom I made on the BGE last week

-half a cheese log that has been in the fridge forever. According to the label it was a cheddar/swiss combo

Nobody else in this house eats leftovers it seems and although it generally makes me angry, this was pretty awesome. I need a nap.

Nice work, YSR. And good luck, Shuke. We are sending my daughter to a half-day preschool starting in September that is run at/by a church, however we are not at all religious and the only exposure she gets to that kind of thing is when her grandparents take her to church once every few months when she spends the night with them and they go Sunday mornings (which we are fine with). I've been a bit uneasy since we signed her up with the whole religious thing, so now I'm even more worried. I'll have to monitor closely and ask lots of questions.
My daughters pre school isn't religious, but she still came home and told us its ok if she dies because jesus loves her. Then I had to explain how Jesus wasn't real like Spongbob Square pants and Santa Claus.
How old is she?
She's a preschooler? You told a preschooler Santa isn't real?
She already knew that. Common sense older siblings and all. We don't celebrate Christmas.
Well then, so much for being a kid.
She  at Toys R Us.

GB Tee Martin.Frosty - A buddy is having a neighborhood party today and has a fire truck showing up at 4pm for the kids. I'm heading out there with hulkbaby if you're interested in stopping out. There will be beer.
I'll run it by the boss.
We're going to go out to eat somewhere with the boy, but could very well end up at Duke's later. Shoot me a text if you guys are interested.

you love a good log?

I'm starting to think Midwest small town America is underrated by those of us who don't live in flyover states. No traffic, people are really nice, I just played a round of golf in about two hours on a gorgeous 95 degree day, and you can get founders and bells here. Plus I don't have to work when I'm here.
I hope you don't work too hard. The bike ride home every night must be a killer

Looks like I'm going to a the party.

"He's your friend Bob!! You said we were going, you just can't not go now!!!"

I guess I should have a drink now.

:lmao: :goodposting:This is another old football buddy. We were good friends back in the day but I haven't seen him in years. Now I only live couple of miles away and I got an invite. So according to his other FB invites, I'm not going to know too many people.I can't besober forthis. :banned:

Guess who just refriended me on FB??

She asked when I was free next, I told her I was busy for the next month.

:nofish:

I've been agitating for more responsibility at work. What was I thinking? My workload will be quadrupled for the rest of the month, because of reorganization combined with a guy out on paternity leave (NTTIAWWT).

In the long run, this will be good for my reputation, but it'll be a long, hot month. And because I have an 8AM meeting downtown on Thursday morning, I should probably do the bulk of my drinking tonight. :banned:

Shuke- that's tough news. Nothing can make you more helpless than a distraught child. I also suspected the church camp as soon as I read it. Those are heady concepts they disperse, especially for a child from a non-religious home. I have no idea what your kid is being taught there, but concepts eternal hell and damnation should not really be in a 4-5 year old's schema.
I agree even though I don't have any kids.
My mom keeps trying to push church camps on our sons because they 'look like so much fun!'. We push back. I went to enough of those as a kid to last me 10 lifetimes. Not sure I understand sending kids to church camp if you aren't religious. Shuke, have you considered taking him to a therapist who specializes in children? Might not be a horrible idea to see where his head is at.
FWIW, I went to a few church camps when I was a kid and they were always a blast. I don't remember it ever being "churchy". But I guess different areas/religions are different. :shrug:ETA: forgot you were from Texas....those guys take their Jesus seriously

Already running out of things to do at my old job and I still have a week and a half before I start the next job. I guess I can try to sleep. Thinking I might no call no show towards the end of next week.

Watching the Rays/Yankmees game and drinking some nice Apricot Ale (wish it was Pyramid) after making a batch of fresh cole slaw and watermelon salsa. Kayaking in the morning and then it's back for some Hawaiian kabobs and a rum sangria. :excited:

We don't need no stinkin Santa Claus!

So I touched on the fact my 7 year old son was having some issues with being afraid of the dark all of a sudden. That seems to be passing already, but now he is having some separation issues. My wife said that yesterday (I worked late), he was crying because he missed me "so much" and was pulling out pictures of me to look at. This seems odd because I don't think he is this bad when I have gone on trips for 4 or 5 days, as recently as 2 weeks ago. Also, we were in the car the other day and he said that his mind was telling him to do things, like drop his Star Wars people out the window. After probing, he wasn't hearing voices, just having thoughts, and I tried to explain to him that everyone has thoughts and you just have to realize what is right and what is wrong and do the right thing. But yesterday he told my wife they were really bothering him. This makes me sick to my stomach, but I don't want to overreact.I am wondering if he is having some security issues with my wife not feeling well. There are days when she can't do much and has to rest on the couch, but he is pretty good about playing by himself or with our daughter. However, this just seems like a really weird time for something like this to crop up. He has been really busy. 3 weeks ago he had cub scout day camp every day for a week. The past two weeks he had swim lessons four days a week, and last week he went to another day camp at a church. Now that I just wrote that, I am wondering if this has something to do with that church camp. My wife and I are not religious, we don't go to church, our kids are not baptized. But we have sent him to this camp the past 3 years with his cousin. I am wondering if any of this is guilt-driven due to something he learned there.
I haven't run into anything like this with either of my kids, but when I was that age I remember vividly a few nights where I was upset and couldn't sleep. I would look at my hands and they would seem inexplicably small. Of course, I couldn't adequately explain that feeling to my parents at all, so I then worried they would think I was either stupid or a total nutcase. Looking back, I think I was just starting to realize how big the world around me really was and was a little freaked out by it. Could be something similar at play with your son.The church camps I went to had virtually no religious element other than maybe a few words at meals, and singing songs like "this little light of mine" at the campfire before bedtime. The rest of camp was spent trying to impress girls.

So, JR (who's still not housebroken) and I had an incident tonight. He was in the tub and I stepped out of the room for a second to grab up a towel. When I walked back into the bathroom, he'd climbed out of the tub and was pissing all over the floor mat. Once he was done, he climbed back into the tub. And I laughed my ### off. AngryWife was...angry...about the whole deal.

Called this right. Party was rather uneventful other than watching a bunch of kids almost get blown up. Fireworks have seemed to get significantly more dangerous since I was a kid.
I went to a lot of Methodist church camps in middle school/high school. Lots of easy chicks and private spaces.
Man I need some easy chicks right now.

Tropical Sangria (Bobby Flay's recipe I believe)Bottle of any Sauvignon Blanc - I used Sea Glass

1 cup or more rum of choice

1/2 cup passion fruit nectar

1/2 cup lemon grass simple syrup

Sliced orange

Sliced lemon

Fresh mint

I couldn't find passion fruit nectar so I used a blended cocktail with passion fruit juice (1 cup) and eliminated the simple syrup. Let it set up for a couple of hours. Serve over ice. I will probably go with mango nectar next time.

Thanks, noted. I would recommend Redrum for this concoction.
