GM's thread about nothing (36 Viewers)

Went cliff jumping today. There must have been close to a hundred people there drinking beers, smoking their herb, and several doing crazy stuff like (badly) synchronized back flips from the cliffs. Also, the sheer amount of hot ### was astounding, and this is coming from a guy who regularly goes swimming & sunning with a 21 year old underwear model.

God I love my town.

A friend shot a video of me jumping, but it's pretty bad and I didn't do a shot on the way down.

Supposed to have like an all time high of 103 here with a "heat index" of something like 115. So what am I doing? Going camping, of course.Taking the son and going with a buddy and his kids, luckily he has a camper with AC. But still, that is going to be a hell of a time in the sun all day then cooking campfire pies over an open flame when it's a cool 90 degrees tomorrow night.
Please expound upon 'campfire pies' concept. Sounds tasty.
A pie you make in a campfire.

shuke knows of more foodstuffs I've never heard of than anyone on the innerwebs.
I assume he's talking about what we call Pudgie Pies, made with a simple pie iron. They're awesome. All you need is bread, butter and whatever fillings you want. I made a pizza one, ham and cheese one and followed it up with a chocolate, Reeses cup and banana for dessert.
those are sandwiches, not pies.
Really? Even if you use a PIE iron and use PIE filling?

Geez, the Adrian Peterson Shark Pool thread is a real train wreck....even for the Shark Pool.

All sorts of experts in police protocol and prescriptions drugs in there.

And they are all being quite excellent to each other.

My ortho doc called me back about my bone scans. Initial diagnoses were correct. Arthritis in big toe in my right foot and in medial cuneonavicular joint in my left. Surgical treatment for toe is pretty straightforward and relatively easy. Maybe 2 weeks no load bearing.

However, my left foot is really the problem right now, as to where I am walking with a noticeable limp about 30-40% of the time. He wants to stay conservative right now and continue stretching and maybe another cortisone shot, but I'm probably going to have to get the joint fused. This will require 2 months non-weight bearing. Which means I can't drive my car (manual), which means I'm going to have to trade it in and get an automatic.

I really didn't want another car payment until we paid my wife's off.

Cut off the foot. Get a prosthetic. Keep your car.

My car A/C is out and I don't feel like dropping a ton of money to get it fixed. The blue light (for cold) isn't coming on but air is blowing. Could it be the fuse?

Things I think about everytime I hear another player get in trouble:1. Will he miss any Sundays?2. How will the Shark Pool make a train wreck out of the situation?...Q. How does this affect the player and his family?

it's two pieces of bread with stuff in the middle. that's a sandwich, regardless of the name of the implement you're using to heat it up. you could call that thing a lear jet tin, and you'd still just be making a hot sandwich, not a lear jet.

Same here...either the fuse or maybe needs freon. Checking into this on my car shortly...will report back.

yeah, likely just a fuse. Fuses only cost a few bucks, so I would see if you (or someone you know) could take care of it. But if the cold air is still blowing, I wouldn't spend the money to bring it in anywhere.

We've been through this before. If the bread is sealed all the way around the perimeter, it's a pie.

Why is it my problems get minimized here? I have to have surgery on both feet and take on an unexpected car payment, jerkfaces.

Like a grilled cheese sandwich pie?

If it helps, I'm sorry to hear about this. Sounds like you've got a lot of other things on your plate right now, with your wife's migraines and your son's new anxieties. New car aside, it seems you are bearing a lot of burdens at home and I can't imagine that it will be easy for you to be laid up after 1 or 2 surgeries.
