GM's thread about nothing (16 Viewers)

If all I knew about Seattle was people from the Shark Pool who post about the Seahawks, I would never, ever set foot in this town
Pretty much the same thing with all homers. The Chicago Bear threads make me want to vomit.
Except Viking homers. They're just sad.
That franchise makes Finnish cinema look uplifting.

. But the judges say it's ok

Really, all Scandinavian film is horribly depressing. Ingmar Bergman's last film was Saraband. I took a date to this movie. Yeah.

If you still did the hibbity dibbity after these movies, you need to talk to bucky, 16, and some of the other younguns. My best were some secks after Event Horizon and an HJ during a really ####ty late 90s movie with Tom Sizemore caled Relic

had one of those drafts last night where everyone was so uninformed that it through me off. 5 QBs (including Peyton) went in the first round of a PPR league.

:ptts:

go see The Klown. Hilarious movie, but still quite depressing in stretches.

Out of guilt, I agreed to work Saturdays for my old job until they got someone trained enough to take over. I should have given a hard stop date. :wall:

I'm not a big fan of generalizing entire groups of kids but it's hard to ignore the fact that in certain years you seem to get certain groups of kids.Last year my 8th graders were noisy and social but worked quickly. A couple of years ago they were well behaved but needed a lot of extra one-on-one help. Some years you seem to have more discipline problems. Other years you get more academically gifted kids.I've only had these kids for 5 days and already I'm noticing a trend.Kid 1: I can't find Harriet Tubman in the index.Me: Did you look under "T"?Kid 1: No I looked under "H".Me: Ahhh...remember we look people up in the index by last name.Kid 1: But "H" comes before "T".Me: Right but we don't need to worry about that. Just look the person up by their last name.Kid 1: I'm confused.Next class:Me: So there were about 20,000 people in Pompeii and 5000 in Herculaneum. We think about 16,000 people died.Kid 2: Did they all die?Me: Ummm...all of the people in both cities or all of the 16,000 that died?Kid 2: Yeah.Me: Maybe I can say it a different way. Out of the 25,000 people in the area...16,000 of them died. Got it?Kid 2: Ah, OK. :raises hand:Me: Yes?Kid 2: How many of them lived?Me: :lmao: I don't teach math.LaterMe: Alex? What's your 3-digit class number?Alex: I don't have one.Me: I gave it to you yesterday. You were here, right?Alex: Yeah.Me: OK, what book are you using?Alex: Number 15Me: That means your number is 415 because you're in period 4.Alex: What's the 15?Me: I just did it alphabetically. You're the 15th person on the list.Alex: Oh, OK. I was wondering why you had me write down '415' on my History folder yesterday. Me: So you wrote it down and you remembered to get book 15 today?Alex: Yeah but when you said '3-digit' I thought you meant it started with a '3'.
They're preempting any Tanner shtick. Well played
Trust me...I think that all the time.At least 4 times a day I have to stifle the urge to say "You're f-ing with me, right?"
man, I hope there's video of this if it ever happens.

Texas Gemtanners> we just got a Chuy's. I'm tempted to go there for lunch today. 1.) worth it or overhyped? 2.) if worth it, is there something in particular I should order?

Will try to answer yours.

Not my favorite, but its probably pretty good if you're in a place with no good Tex-Mex.There's some kind of avocado dip that everyone raves about. I used to get the Elvis special when I went. It was basically one of everything. I was also kinda fat back then.

This. Have a couple of margies too. That should take care of that "I'm stuck working Saturdays at my old job" thing.

I had to check and see if this was the same Chuy's that we have in Calif. It's not. That's a good thing because I have no idea who would hype it. Our Chuy's are ultra-causal places with fish tacos and "bike night" (motorsickles not Schwinns).

Is the food handmade? Do you know Brett?

Isn't all food "handmade" in one way or another? I know a few Bretts.

I have a draft today in a leeg I've been playing for about 15 years. I don't care anymore, and I don't really have time for it. I've done nothing to prepare.

Get Gates, right?

All of you guys in leagues that you don't care about, you are obviously not playing for enough money. Grow up and make it worth a couple grand a guy. You'll care again.

$550 entry fee. I only play because it's the main way I keep in touch with these guys. I just don't have the time or desire to spend a bunch of time on research.Any decent late-round guys to target? I won't read the sp.

 I download the DD and have at it every year. Do pretty well. I might actually know a couple of things this year since I have time to read. Of course I won't.

This league has been around for a long time and has a weird scoring system and long benches, so the waiver wire is useless from day one. Winning is usually a matter of getting lucky with a couple rookies or break-out players. I usually make the playoffs and won the year before last, but this year I just don't know anything.

So has mine. Started in 1987 actually and also has a weird scoring system. I sort of tweaked the DD scoring options years ago the best I could so I can do the least amount of work as possible and still win some really good dough.
