Maybe you should loosen the pursestrings and allow her more than 40/night to work with

When the hotel website says its a 2 * hotel...that's a pretty big screw up.

So go to a different hotel. I'm sure they're not all sold out.

2 star hotels are dumps. I've stayed in some 2.5 star dumps. Still, I don't think this is a fire-worthy offense.

I do 100% of my hotel booking. No matter how good my assistant is, she's not invested in me having a decent place to stay at nearly the same level I am. Same with airfare.

Where are you staying?

Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. Plenty of bars nearby. I just hate to miss out on the hotel bar experience. It's one of life's great pleasures.

Why stay at a different hotel chain/different hotel every time? Use the same hotel and rack up the frequent traveler points/miles/free nights of stay etc...

I don't understand what is so hard about "I need to be at this address for a meeting on the morning on the 8th, please book me into the nearest Marriott assuming it is not more than X dollars a night on the 7th?"

Immediately booked a room at NYLO for this weekend to celebrate with the Wiccan. I am going to destroy.

This was very much a success.I was a little worried because I had been sick all week, and had a crappy night sleeping Friday night at Cowboys Stadium, but manned up and went to work. NYLO is a very cool hotel and I am pretty sure Stu would approve.My only issue was Sunday morning I woke up and realized I was completely dehydrated. A week of taking Allergy medicine and not staying hydrated had caught up with me. I didn't feel all that bad yet (pounding headache came later in the day and still hanging around), but it led to a weird reaction in the bedroom. My soldier showed up for duty, but there was no finish to be had. So before check-out, I basically became a human Sybian for an hour straight, and everyone went home happy.
