GM's thread about nothing (26 Viewers)

Wife took the kid to Madison for an evening at her sisters house. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm going to get drunk somewhere. My couch sounds like a great idea but I haven't been out on a Saturday night in forever.
I'm thinking a trip to Hooters is what I need to improve my mood. For the buffalo shrimp, of course.
I bet the Hooters in Texas are way better than the Hooters in Wisconsin.
Absolutely. The, umm, shrimp is much fresher.
My buddy sent me a pic of his text exchange with his wife. I guess I'm going out tonight :lmao: :banned:
:like:
You don't even keep Sat morning playdates

I feel like Shuke...

I went to a podiatrist almost 2 months ago on referral from my doctor because I have super flat feet (pics available on request) and I thought that it had been affecting things when I exercise because my feet, calves, knees and hamstrings end up hurting.

Podiatrist took X-rays, said yep... Flat feet and the start of a bunion on my big left toe, so he fit me for custom orthotics. Old man, check.

Well, of course insurance doesn't cover the cost for orthotics for flat feet, only for some other "code" and of course they won't tell me what the other codes are. I called the podiatrist and talked to the girl at the front desk to check if there was some other way to code it and they said that's the only code they use. Ok, no luck, waves goodbye to $250.

I went in for a follow up (and had to get fitted for additional arch support, fml) and they asked me if I had been doing my plantar fasciitis stretches  They had never said anything about plantar fasciitis to me, so I'm :shuked: do I have it or did the girl at the front desk that always seems overly friendly to me switch something up based on my earlier call??

No offense to anyone but why Austin? Isn't UH in Maryland?
Was thinking of housing at Casa de Cosjobs, but that's pretty presumptuous on my part as he hasn't weighed in. I'll go wherever.
Seems logical from a capacity and quality of city standpoint. I'm cool with it and seems like the right thing to do. I just hope I don't cry like a little girl during the goodbyes.
Shoulda seen me in the shower this morning (well, no you shouldn't but you know what I mean) - stepped in there and screamed like a little girl when I saw the spider. Jesus......

I love the barrel roll after he misses that catch. :lmao:
:goodposting: :lmao: Mrs. SLB & myself were watching the game and even though I was quite tipsy I noticed this.

Oh, and Zooks, I told her about your humorous comment about me living too long.

Poor kid had some wicked whiplash being tackled. He didn't move. Looks like he is going to be okay though. We all bet Alabama right?

The Hoarders actually had a garage sale his past weekend, and in preparation for it, they sent a few boxes of Romo's old stuff to our house. As he has the hoarding gene, we already have plenty of clutter stuff, so I'm methodically going through the boxes and throwing away anything and everything I can. He asked, though, that we burn his CDs to an external hard drive before trying to sell them at a used CD place.

I've burned probably 20 or so of his old CDs and have already told him that I might not have married him had I known what CDs he spent money on (k4> looking at you here).

Wait a sec, the girls here give advice on how to craft an online profile?? Why wasn't I made aware of this service???
The only way to fly. She may not know it, but krista-pimp got me laid more times than I can count(shoutout to Havana and Early, too).
:excited:

   Don't tell me. I can't stand it.

Bill, the house you might stay in was once owned by Bill Kreutzmann, the drummer for the Grateful Dead. I don't really know your musical tastes (though I probably wrote about them in your profile), but there you have it.

I've been watching the balloon man until now and so am just tuning in to the games. Am I really in danger of having my Atlanta Survivor pool (and Mr. YSR's Frosty pool) pick ruined by the Raiders?

I went to another HS football game on Friday. I'm going to start collecting the little color programs they hand out and then send them all to Homer at the end of the year as a secret Santa gift (though I suppose it won't be much of a secret anymore). I think he'll, um, appreciate them. My co-worker handed me some sort of sugar free gum at the game. Most vile stuff I've ever had in my mouth, including mushrooms and Sally Bagwell. I spit it out after a few minutes, but I swear to christ my taste buds are permanently ruined. I can't get this taste out of my mouth no matter how many Coors Lights I ingest. I even tried scotch. I've brushed my teeth a dozen times, swished black coffee...I'm about to lick my dog's butt to try and quell this nastiness. I don't see how you gum chewers do it. That might be my last chew ever in life.
I watched some movie tonight where one of the main characters was unaffected by the chemicals they were trying to pump into him because he smoked too much weee. Thought of you.
I watched that movie twice in a row last night (figuring, correctly, that I'd pick up on a lot more the second time once I realized what was going on). Loved it.

I liked it quite a bit. Will probably re-watch at some point.

God, I used to hate the Dead. Now I love them. Ok if I hate 'em again when I get back?

I could never formally be accepted in the the HIppie Guild because I hate the Dead and Frisbees.

It's OK; I hate them too. :)
:goodposting: Am I booked?
You are now. :excited: By the way, I have some better pictures now of the house you booked. Just haven't had time to upload them to vrbo yet. Hope to do it today.

God, if they look any better than those you've already posted I may......well, nevermind.I really love this time of year. Gonna sound stupid, but the quality of the daylight is so cool and it's still warm.

I just polished off a big plate of Roast Beef Debris Cheese Fries

B/c I know you guys care...

one of my FF leagues has negative scoring for Team Defense if they give up a ton of points. When RG3 when on that huge run, it put me up by 1 with the GB defense left and my opponent was done for the day. Benched the GB defense FTW. FF version of the victory formation

:shark:

My 2-year old (Bennett, who some of you probably remember from his semi-traumatic first couple weeks) is now going to be doing speech therapy because at 2 years and 2 months old he can say maybe 5 words if you stretch. He can say the first sound in a whole bunch of words and is clearly very smart (not just a parent thing, his "evaluator" said the same) and he can communicate non-verbally and/or grunt and pointally no problem, but the words just aren't coming.
Both my kids have been in speech therapy. But that's because my wife stays at home and found out about free public programs. It's been beneficial, but then again, maybe they just needed time to "catch up".

Finally getting around to watching Mad Men. Halfway through episode 1 and I'm a little iffy about it so far. The point so far seems to be to make the sure audience appreciates how wacky and different times were in the 60s with the constant smoking, morning drinking and light sexual harassment. That was pretty much the story of my twenties.

I fell asleep two more times reading this than when I read Gusher's Orgazifesto

Didn't you just recently tear through Breaking Bad? Give Mad Men some time. I actually took a break in S2 or S3 when I moved, but caught up before this last season ended. It's worth your while, and then some.

Met with my attorney this a.m. to write up my Will. Not having kids, and all of my cousins are rich, made it a little tougher than I thought. I went Brother/Mother/Lawyer. In case of the first two pre-deceasing me, lawyer is to liquidate and give whatever's left to the Woodstock, VA food drive. I've got a couple of days to review. Is there any worthy cause I should think of that won't piss the money away?
I've heard good things about the Samuel L Bronkowitz Beer Fund. It brings so much joy and happiness to all
Good as any. Might sound maudlin or melodramatic, but accepting being terminal is pretty liberating. Thanks, cigarettes!
Wait, what? Did I miss something? :(
:goodposting: Holy ####. :(
Inoperable ####. Cancer can kiss my ###, but no one to blame but myself.
Holy ####. I don't even know what to say here, but very sorry.

I will. Intentionally took a couple months off after Breaking Bad before I started this. I've been catching up on some It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the meantime.

:wub:One of my favorites.

Yeah I haven't posted any response to this stuff because I really have no idea what to say, so I'll just echo Shuke. Which is always a good policy.
