Went with Tax Act this year. Feeling good about this.
"Feeling good" how?
As in it was slightly cheaper to file but just as easy to use. I actually tried several options and found them to be similarly easy and effective. H&R Block's was good as well.
Hm. Personal only, or can you do an S-Corp too? I'd love to skip the annual stipend to my accountant for his 15 minutes of filling in information that I provide on his computer.
:blackdot: and :goodposting:I've spent about 20 hours compiling all the data for our taxes and the one area in which I'm not 100% comfortable is a couple of LLCs that we own. Always hate doing all the work and still paying.

Most of these zombie nerds in the Walking Dead thread don't seem to appreciate my work in there.
Needs more subtlety.
Serious question: Should I actually watch an episode, so I can be misinformed in a dumb way?
If you want to be really dedicated to the shtick, sure. Zubaz pants line had my crying.
Maybe I'll watch one episode, and then just incorrectly assume what happens in future episodes based on that one episode.
Watch Dawn of the Dead. Post what's going to happen based on that.

Just found out last night that my wife is descended from English and French Royalty, the House of Normandy and the Capetian Dynasty...this may become insufferable.
Don't get me started. Pretty much everybody is descended from royalty or famous people at some level especially once you get back more than 20 generations or so where you are descended from over a million people. Of course, that's overstated as not every ancestor is of unique lineage themselves, but you get the idea. The gene pool was limited enough in terms of cross geographical mixing that everybody is related to everybody else provided you share a common geographical ancestry. The reason that people always find out they are related to nobility are that the records of nobility were much better kept than you average joe schmo at least up until the Renaissance when the church began to get involved with record keeping. You mix in some of these sots who had a #### ton of kids, like Charlemagne, who had 18, and literally every person of Western European descent can trace some ancestry back to him.

It's still pretty cool to figure out which ones. And yeah, me, not so much, my lineage goes to Eastern European (re Hunky, Pollack, Slav, what have you) I'm descended from peasants and probably serfs, so, you know, I got that goin' for me.

Maybe you can start claiming Vlad the Impaler or Lech Walesa.

Sure, 4 or 5 generations back, but go back further and I guarantee you, you likely are related to Attila the Hun and quite probably Ghengis Kan. Also, unless both sides of your family are very immediately and only Eastern European (like all 4 of your Grandparents were off the boat), you likely still have some Western European ancestry as well. You still might even if they were.

Not grandparents, but all 4 sets of Great Grandparents were off the boat. But, unfortunately, I can only go back to getting partial names of my Great Great Grandparents as not many of my grandparents generation is still around and my Grandma is 96 and dealing with after effects of a stroke....Some days she lucid, some not so much. I got what I could from her. Now it would take money for research in Poland/Ukraine/Slovenia/Slovakia to go any further.I find the history aspect of it pretty cool though.

I have no idea who I'm descended from and don't care. If I had to guess, I'd say some slimy frog who got in trouble for diddling the daughter of the prefect of an eastern province of France, and fled to Canada. I did marry into American royalty. Or at least NY royalty. The wife's paternal side are direct descendants of the Brewmeister Jacob Ruppert of Ruppert Beer-Ale. He's also known for his side ventures, which include owning the Murder's Row Yankees. He's getting inducted into the HOF this year. We're thinking of going to the ceremony.

No doubt. But there's no harm in feeling a little unique, even if it's for no other reason than someone took the time to do the work.

 Wouldn't it be more unusual to NOT claim to be related to somebody famous?

I'd like to not be related to my sister.

Pretty sad you don't read my blog, GB. :kicksrock:

Lots of slavery in my ancestry. Best I don't ask a lot of questions.
One of the last battles of the Civil War was fought on one of my ancestors' property in Virginia, and they owned slaves there. Damn Yankees still haven't paid for the breakage.
