Does GM still eat all of the poop?
Ulysses.I haven't read a book in probably 15 years. But I have troubles falling asleep at night and usually end up watching ####ty TV until 1-2 am. So I figured I'd start reading to see if that helps, and it has a little bit. Cos/Tre > Do you have any suggestions from what you sent me? I liked Stephen King when I was in my early teens but other than that I really only read what was required for classes. I just finished The DaVinci Code, which was a pretty easy read so something on that level would be nice. TIA
Action/Suspense/Thriller junkie here, as well as like black ops/CIA type stuff. I love most everything that Vince Flynn or Brad Thor have come out with. I also really enjoy John Sandford books which are about a Minneapolis/MN police detective.Yeah I tend to lean towards Action/Thriller/Supsense movies. I'll look into these. Thanks.Along the lines of easy reading type books - you might try the Lee Child Jack Reacher series. Lots of action, pretty formulaic though.Angels and DemonsI haven't read a book in probably 15 years. But I have troubles falling asleep at night and usually end up watching ####ty TV until 1-2 am. and
the Stieg Larsson trilogy (Girl With Dragon Tattoo, etc.)
It's not necessarily to go to sleep....just to relax a bit more maybe?>

How's your tire?Yesterday was so surreal with this horrible Boston incident. As I posted here, I called my lawyer to set up an appointment to update our will. I then went to a tire place to get a screw removed and tire repaired. I was the only one in the waiting room and Fox News was on but I was checking out the stock market on my phone. They then cut in with the story. It was really an odd place to be watching something so awful.
they are good, but extremely long.Ok serious stryker> check out the game of thrones books. Those are good sexy bloody suspenseful reading.
Yeah, I'm enjoying the show too. I don't think I want to invest in those just yet.they are good, but extremely long.Ok serious stryker> check out the game of thrones books. Those are good sexy bloody suspenseful reading.
Yeah, they are a great fantasy series and some of my favorite books, but there are tons of characters, locales, etc to keep up with. Probably not good for a guy that's just getting into reading and smells of miller lite.they are good, but extremely long.Ok serious stryker> check out the game of thrones books. Those are good sexy bloody suspenseful reading.
IMO this series starts off pretty good and then eventually spirals into boring, disorganized, long-winded mush. IIRC book #3 is the apex. From there is goes way downhill.Ok serious stryker> check out the game of thrones books. Those are good sexy bloody suspenseful reading.
Good plan. The series is actually much better than the books.Yeah, I'm enjoying the show too. I don't think I want to invest in those just yet.they are good, but extremely long.Ok serious stryker> check out the game of thrones books. Those are good sexy bloody suspenseful reading.
Stop being a reading nancy. The Imp is even better in print.Yeah, I'm enjoying the show too. I don't think I want to invest in those just yet.they are good, but extremely long.Ok serious stryker> check out the game of thrones books. Those are good sexy bloody suspenseful reading.
This was going to be my suggestion as well, since they take place in his part of the country. I've probably read five of those. Easy and pretty entertaining.Action/Suspense/Thriller junkie here, as well as like black ops/CIA type stuff. I love most everything that Vince Flynn or Brad Thor have come out with. lol Thankfully, the screw was in the middle. I've been hosed countless times where it couldn't be repaired. How's your tire?Yesterday was so surreal with this horrible Boston incident. I like the other series as well about Virgil Flowers. All of those authors are easy reads and great for a late night/before bed book IMO.This was going to be my suggestion as well, since they take place in his part of the country. Edit: Called the "Prey" series. Lucas Davenport is the main character.
Same here. Damn low-profile Mazda tires.lol Thankfully, the screw was in the middle. OH COME ON.The only decline in writing, and by that I eSm it got kinda boring, is during the Greyjoy it arc in the fourth book. Denaerys(? - the hot and often naked dragon queen) gets a bit annoying too, but her story picked up near the end when -Good plan. I was going to recommend Sandford as well, especially the early Prey books. Those are really good.Action/Suspense/Thriller junkie here, as well as like black ops/CIA type stuff. Try Gone Girl, or get into the whole Game of Thrones thing if you're into that kind of stuff.I haven't read a book in probably 15 years. First couple of Bourne books are quite good...they made me not like the movie because there was so much cool stuff they left out. Thanks for the suggestions. Wool sounds interesting and is free at Amazon right now. I'll probably check out the Jack Reacher stuff as that sounds right up my alley. Are the Bourne books any good? All of these should keep me busy for a while.
The Jack Reacher stuff isn't as good as Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp or Bard Thor's Scot Harvath IMO.Thanks for the suggestions. Wool sounds interesting and is free at Amazon right now. I don't have the juice. Wish I could help.Abe,Can you summon your mod powers one last time and blow up the MoP thread. Tim AND MoP in there defending themselves. jonmx was there too.Maybe trap them all in there like some kind if iPurgatory
How is he with nursery themes? As Dylan was going to bed last night, he says "hey Dad, we need another kid around here". I then asked him if a little sister would be alright and he said that would be great. I then told Mrs. SLB about this and apparently he has been driving her crazy with this request for a couple of weeks. I think I maybe we'll send him to live with YSR & Romo for a couple of weeks after baby Crystal is born. He'll have his little sister and he is super competitive so he and Romo will get along just fine.
I stepped in and quickly, quietly backed out. I have yet to open the Boston thread, think I will just keep that one closed.I clicked on that bitcoin thread, I've never been so confused in my life.
Yes, thanks but we had an unfortunate turn of events for you, will send you back an email shortly.I clicked on that bitcoin thread, I've never been so confused in my life.
UOFI, did you get my e-mail last night?

I read the email before I went to bed and ended up having the wierdest dream last night. I went to your house to see some samples of the furniture you were going to give us, and of course we ended up getting drunk. I had go-cart races with your boys, and then remember eating guacamole and chips in bed with you and your wife. Then I was in the office and you showed up with way more stuff then we needed and I was stuck paying for it out of pocket.
Also, if Dylan wants a baby sister I can send one of my 3 girls down for a week or two, just let me know when you want her to show up.
I don't care for guacamole but Mrs. SLB does so pretty accurate. He knows a few and has his Jingle book memorized although he calls it "reading". I guess it is probably more impressive he memorized the entire book. How is he with nursery themes? As Dylan was going to bed last night, he says "hey Dad, we need another kid around here". I have this same dream a lot. A WHOLE lot.I had a dream last night that I divorced my wife and went back to college
