GM's thread about nothing (37 Viewers)

Little background here? What is going on?
I joined the staff 10 years ago. Other staffers contribute more these days. They are moving forward with the staffers that offer more content than I do. In years past I have provided a handful of articles, some training camp reports, and game recaps. It's all good.
I'm pretty sure this is a victory for you.

Had my grandmother's funeral yesterday (she was 100, and expected to go...no TPW necessary...all is good)...but my brother brought is 4yo daughter to the service...which may be weird to some, but he's in the military and is in combat; so he has to be pretty open about this kind of stuff...but anyway, I digress

The visitation was open casket, and the 4yo says to his mom: "Why is (grandma) in a treasure chest" :lmao:

Then, when we're at the cemetery, and as they're putting the casket inside the hole, she says "Are we in heaven" :lmao:

Not sure if I should have posted this here or in the "funny thing kids say" thread, but I'm here now...so suck it.
:lmao:

At my Aunt's funeral on Saturday I saw one of my mom's cousins, Susan, a few aisles away. She lives out of state only see her about once a year. She makes eye contact with me just before the service starts so I wave to her. She gives me this blank stare. I just shrug. So she pretty much yells to 3 or 4 people sitting around her "WHO IS THAT? I DON'T KNOW WHO THAT IS? RIGHT THERE? (pointing at me like this). I DON'T RECOGNIZE WHO THAT IS? IS THAT ONE OF BRENDA'S SONS???"

JFC. I just waved at her. I didn't try to borrow her car. And the thing is she's not that old...maybe 70.
:lmao: I was hoping as I clicked it would be that picture :lmao:

Ack. A mite too soon.
Notice I said "could be".

An hour driving. Running would be several weeks, possibly months and a lot of crying.

Absolutely insane. I was almost going to take the day off and go into the city with some friends (now I'm actually thankful for being super busy at work) I've now checked in with all my friends that I knew were in the city for the Marathon and all are safe and unharmed. One buddy was a couple blocks away from the first explosion, said that for a couple minutes there was so much chaos he was legitimately scared more bombs were gonna go off and he thought he was a having a heart attack. Crazy day.

Who is Mr. Cross? Just called out the Curly person for her hoax (post #595 in Marathon thread--don't know how to link to that any more).

Trying to get back in the groove since my dad passed last week. I don't want to bring the thread down again, but I'll just say that, if you haven't already done so, make a living will and a regular will right now. Especially if you have kids.
Finally got this stuff taken care of last month

Job

Local software company has come back to me with an intriguing proposal. Actually 2. One is a a small base with health care and cell phone and 100% of the first months sales to a customer. This is subscription software sales so I think that is supposed to be enticing.

But the other option is really intriguing: 10% of revenue created as long as I am with the company (plus the base and cell phone and insurance). So if I planned on staying awhile I could build up my sales and essentially raise my paycheck every month.

It's intriguing. I'm intrigued.

What hoax did curly do on another board?
If it's the same one that posted at FFToday (and I think she is based on her Arias insanity) she acted like she got in an accident, another poster asked for donations to help her and then she disappeared. Something like that. It was a long time ago but she was a complete lunatic.

Love you Zooks. Glad you are OK.

COlin, glad to hear about the job offer. I personally like the second offer better, but you know the industry better than I do.

That's me. The first year might be a little rough but building up a base of customers would be nice down the road.

Politician Spock is being a huge ##### in the Boston thread. Tpw and saintsdome(whoever that is) haven't been much better, but Spock is up for **** of the month.

I'm at a bar with Morgan Freeman. He's right behind me. I'm not impressed by many people...but Morgan ####### Freeman.

How much y'all pay me to tell him how much I loved him in Snakes on a Plane?

YSR: You have that baby yet?
Nope. Still cooking. 3/4 the way there.

I get to go to Boca Grande, FL this weekend with all of my skinny college girlfriends. That's going to feel gooooooood.
i don't understand this... you're pregnant. you're supposed to be skinny?
No, and I actually feel fine about my weight gain thus far. I'm just going to have a beached whale sort of feeling on Friday when we head to the water.

And tonight I got to experience the cruelty of life that is shopping for a maternity bathing suit without the emotion-numbing aid of wine.

Get him to do your voicemail greeting!
I don't do voicemail greetings but would have made an exception had I thought of this brilliant idea.I might have a short video later of him questioning why a married woman (not me) was hitting on him. Not sure of quality though.

Tell him you still think he's the greatest center of all-times.

Someone (I'm gonna assume Abe) complained about the lack of movies during the Starz/Encore free preview. Bad Santa last night and Red Dawn tonight say your concerns are unfounded.

WOLVERINES!!!

So you're taking it, right? Leaning that way, particularly because I think they will let me work remote which means I can sit at the same desk I'm at now, manage my company (about two hours a day of actual work) and do this job. She mentioned they had other candidates coming back for second interviews this week but that may be a ploy; the company owner really likes me and I've had a lot of meetings with them in the last two months trying to work out an arrangement.
