GM's thread about nothing (21 Viewers)

I just learned that in my next 3 month phase of training, i'll be doing a lot of applied creativity. as part of that, I get to pick any one "thing" and learn how to do it. The last person to go through the training chose two actually - learning how to paint water colors and learning how to play guitar. I'm still a couple months away from this point (still reading books, meditating and watching videos), but figured it was worth throwing out here for suggestions...
Improv Comedy.
Already getting hooked up with an acting coach and this office used to give improv lessons to the groups, so i think that's just part of the normal curriculum

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is being investigated in connection with a double murder in Boston's South End in July 2012, a law enforcement source close to the investigation told CNN.

The source says that the Boston Police Department has located and impounded a silver SUV with Rhode Island registration placed at the scene of the murders and sought by police for nearly a year. Investigators now believe that Hernandez was renting the impounded vehicle at the time of the 2012 murders, according to the source.

Hernandez already is charged with first degree murder in last week's shooting death of Odin Lloyd. He is due in court at 2 p.m. to appeal a judge's decision to hold him without bail, the court magistrate told CNN.

TRE, have they considered doing the silent auction (or some portion of the silent auction) online? Expands the pool of people willing and able to contribute considerably. And it really doesn't have to take away that much from the B&M fundraiser they're holding.
Good suggestion. They don't really listen to me much, but I'll definitely suggest it!

Life update:

As of this morning, I am legally divorced in the eyes of the State of Texas.

TPW appreciated.
Congrats and good luck, GBJT. Going through the divorce was really hard for me and the time after I alternated between relief, regret, disappointment and occasional happiness. I hope it works out for the best and you know that there are plenty on here that are willing to help however we can.
:goodposting:

Divorce sucks.... but the bee-atches suck more.

Hey Tre, is there a link somewhere to donate for your neice
There is...I'll post something tomorrow. Thanks.
I'll be on the lookout.

Thoughts and prayers
Ok - for any that don't know, my 2 year old niece Nora has stage 4 neuroblastoma. This is a cancer that starts in the adrenal glands and in her case has resulted in a large tumor in her abdomen and another in her skull. She's been through three rounds of chemo so far and after 6 months may have surgery to remove the abdominal tumor. Her original prognosis is that she has a 50/50 shot.

There is a benefit scheduled for her in August, with a raffle and silent auction. They are accepting silent auction items still I think. Link here

If you'd just like to donate to help out the family, you can do that here. That link also contains some more info about what she's going through.

Thanks to Mr. Pack and the rest of you that have or will pass along well wishes. We don't need to bog down the thread with them, we all cancer and it's family is a ####.

Requisite pic of Nora and my son Declan at her 2nd birthday party.

Roped a few in with the "Aaron Hernandez used to post at FBG's" shtick.

(Actually true) gets 'em every time.
jumping like asianed carp
:lmao: Hilarious how much that still has some people intrigued. Brilliant shtick.
Bunch of rubes. I love that people are joking about it now, that seems to lend it an air of legitimacy.
I had that in mind when I started the Fictitious Threads thread.

There are four US states I haven't been to: Both Dakotas (why do we need two?) and Alaska make sense. The fourth is Oregon. What the hell is the matter with me? On paper that state is made for me.(Thinking of this as I consider whether we can make the Oregon trip given a developing situation with the Nicaragua move.)
Working on plans to hit Portland in mid-August
I had hoped to do this, but I will instead be at the Ancestral Wellness symposium in Atlanta. Ugh. Atlanta in August, how refreshing.

Ooooooooof. I'm sure there's a Wellness symposium SOMEWHERE in Oregon in August. Probably one right now, too. And yesterday. And every day up here.

I finally caught up completely on this thread after being more than two weeks behind just a few short days ago. I can leave work today with quite the sense of accomplishment. :bowtie:

Tantric sex
It's supposed to be something new
Tantric Sex with someone else?
i thought you said you'd get jealous if i did it with anyone other than you?
I'm working on not being so possessive.

Really like the Golf and Homebrew suggestions. One of them can be a lifetime hobby full of enjoyment, challenge, accomplishment, and relaxation. The other is golf.
Way to show your employer you think his concerns for your personal development are a waste of effort.

1. Music reviews / writing. Great excuse to attend a ton of concerts.

2. Movie reviews. See above.

3. Food critic. See above above.

4. Sculpting. Make a cheap and crappy studio in your garage. Spend 2 hours a day listening to choice music, smoking weed, and playing with clay.

5. Directing. Make a documentary where you travel the nation interviewing members of an online community about how it's affected their lives, how they explain it to others, what an online friendship means, etc. This may also involve music, food, and marijuana.

*call me crazy, but #5 actually sounds like a solid idea.
