GM's thread about nothing (4 Viewers)

I once had a bottle of Ambien to deal with my sleeping issues, but they didn't work for me so Mr. krista took them instead. He would have long gibberish episodes that were sometimes amusing but sometimes scary. One I remember vividly ended with his being very upset as some sunlight hit the wall of the bedroom and his yelling, "Who's going to empty the pissbucket?!?!" He kept asking that until I finally told him I would.
Man, I hear these stories a lot, even my sister can't tolerate it.Hell sometimes I take 2 and they don't work.

I take an Ambien, 2 Benadryl and a Tramadol before bed every night and I still barely sleep.
Good Lord. No wonder, my friend.
Yeah, Jesus Christ. Pack, that's pretty scary. Your doctor know you're doing this?
Ummmm, I don't think so, no.
Isn't the a bit more than dangerous? Like maybe not waking up dangerous?

I remember when I was a kid our regular TV broke and before my dad went out and bought a new one (2 or 3 days) we had to watch this portable, black-and-white job that had been sitting in the garage for like 15 years.

I don't even like thinking about it.
Sorry man. Must've been tough.

Good for you for overcoming childhood trauma so successfully.
Thanks, man. It's been a struggle.

you people are going to let this obvious fiction slide?

Hint: TV wasn't invented yet when Tanner was a kid.

Random things I've overheard my students saying today:

"Superman has this gay little curl."

"I have 3-day-old Sixlets in my pocket."

Girl 1: Those are new grades? Does that mean they've been updated?

Girl 2: No, they've been downdated

Girl 1: Your face is downdated.

Girl 2: Your mom is downdated.

automatic A's for these two

My kid is finally on a flight home (although with a pretty long layover in Chicago). Missed a week of school because of the polar vortex thingy.

2014 list of Things that slow down Jim Tan

1. Posts about the thing that shall not be named.

2. Snow.
I don't know what 1 is. :bag:
So, you missed the Great Thread Deletion last week, did you? Well, you see, SOMEONE ELSE posted about something that caused the thread to be deleted. Rud had a quick Defcon fax exchange with the "the man" and our beloved 3431 page opus was brought back from the mortician's table just in time to ring in the new year.
Ah yes, I've seen references to thread deletion but missed the whole thing.
i missd it too.

what could get this monolith whacked? i'll take a pm

TP&Ws to all that need them, and you can include my aunt if you have any left. She has been sick for a very, very long time, but finally her cancer has spread, and it appears that she does not want any more treatment, which likely means this is her last holiday season. It is, I think one of those blessings in that it ends suffering, but I know it will be hard on my mother.
So she made it through the holidays but passed this week. No TPW's for me, but if you're into that sort of thing, think of my mom. They were five siblings until my aunt passed. My mom and the aunt who passed are the peacemaker/get along with anyone types. The other three have longstanding grudges and mistrust for the others, to the point where some haven't talked for 10+ years. They would habitually put my mom and aunt in the middle, and would always accused them of "not being on my side." Now my mom is on that island by herself.

Not to mention, she's been doing all the end of life/funeral stuff since November, since her brothers and sisters can't deal with each other like adults. It sucks.
I feel your pain.

Sorry man.

I actually enjoy a fair amount of Busch Lights and Miller Lites, but for some reason could never drink Coors Light. That's how bad Coors is.

Wish me luck. Filled out an online application for a new job. Gotta wait a few days for a call to interview. Completely new field and involves some manual labor, but comes with a 25% raise.

So we had another ultrasound yesterday, and everything seemed great. That little one is super active, and dare I say cute. Today the wife gets a call though, that they want her to come back in tomorrow to take a longer look at her (my wife's) kidneys. Yesterday the tech said there was some urine in them, but not a lot or to be alarmed about, but today after our Dr. saw the photos, they seem concerned. They baby is only 13 weeks, so it shouldn't be big enough to be obstructing the ureters. Hopefully it's nothing and just Dr. being cautious, as you should be, with a pregnancy.

I was thinking about a Tommyboy joke about a butcher and a T-bone steak, but thought better of it. Hope everything turns out okay and little Leeroy(ette) is doing super (along with mother).

Good luck man. That must be nerve wracking.
